safer:now

Sean set up Safer:Now after many years in the fields of youth work, safeguarding
and service development, after being a participant in many ‘training sessions.’
Sean’s challenge to much of the training that is out there, however high
quality, is that it is often more ‘awareness’ and less “how to actually apply
it.” Awareness-raising, safeguarding policy training and
understanding-the-theory offers do not regularly lend themselves to a
practitioner’s needs - ”what happens when I am in this scenario with a young
person?” “How do I support them sufficiently with all the nuance, skills and
tools needed?” “How do I best support the communities we serve?”
