In this course we will be combining my passions of Qigong and Breathwork to help bring us into balance so we can move though Autumn into winter full of peace and vitality.
Why Qigong and Breathwork?
Qigong is breathwork (Qi is Breath), it is an amazing way of opening and clearing the body, of making space for our healthy energy to flow. It allows us to stay relaxed and receptive without forcing or pushing. It is easy to learn and naturally attuned to your individual body and how it wants to expand, release and recharge.
Breathwork is simply bringing our conscious attention to our breath and is one of the most powerful ways we have to change our state at any given moment. In the course i will introduce you to eight different breath techniques to help you to breathe better. Commit to just 10mins a day and you’ll be amazed at the results you can achieve.

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines has full accreditation from OfQual as a Level 2 Vocational Qualification. Through a combination of tasting and theory you will explore the factors that impact the style and quality of wine and learn how to describe wines with confidence.

Grape varieties: You'll learn about the styles of wines produced by the key international red and white grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah/Shiraz) as well as the styles of wines made with 22 regionally important grape varieties grown in 70 wine regions (GI's) around the world
Sparkling and Fortified wines: You will be taught how grape varieties and winemaking processes influence the style of wines in these two key wine categories.
No prior wine knowledge is required however the course builds upon the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines course. It is not essential to complete Level 1 to join the Level 2 course but if you are a complete begineer you may wish to consider this option. You're a maker in your favoured medium - ceramics, wood, metal, glass or whatever - and you want to make electric lamps.
This course will tell you everything you need to know beyond using your existing skills in making the lamp base: design considerations; bulbs, bulb holders and lampshades; wiring; testing; and all the standards and regulations that you need to conform to (covering UK and EU requirements).
Note that although I am a potter, the course is not centered round the use of ceramics (or any other material) in making your lamp base. 
The course is run over three weekly sessions, 19:00 – 20:30. These are recorded and put onto the course web page so you can view them at other times.
An additional discussion session will be set up at a time when most students can attend, even if not able to attend the live sessions - this will be scheduled at the start of the course.
In addition, a number of videos show the stages in wiring up and testing many types of lamp, and these can be watched from the course page.

What will we cover?
Lamp proportions and design considerations; basics of lighting; bulbs and bulb holders, switches and lampshades; electrical considerations and wiring up your lamp; testing your lamp; standards and regulations.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to…
Be familiar with the design proportions and considerations for different types of lamp, e.g. bedside, desktop, floor standing, wall or ceiling
Be familiar with the various options for light bulbs, bulb holders and switches
Understand the pros and cons of making a lamp that runs directly off the mains, or that uses a transformer
Be able to select the necessary components, and wire up, a lamp
Know how to test your lamps, what instrumentation is needed, and how manufacturing tests differ from PAT testing
Understand the standards and requirements and how they affect the design of your lamp
Be able to produce the necessary documentation to accompany your lamp, and know how to make it eligible to use the required CE / UKCA mark
Understand the principles behind WEEE, and the requirements this imposes on the maker and the retailer
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Intermediate. You should have the skills to make the lamp base in your preferred material, as that is not covered in the course though obviously necessary to make a lamp.

Through our three, weekly, set of live online workshops, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.

Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice one or two tools designed to fit seamlessly into your life (in just a few minutes at a time, I promise!).
