Linda Farquharson is a relief printmaker (Linocut) based in Highland Perthshire creating linocuts and wood engravings. Her work is infused with the outdoor world and inspiration is never far from her back door.Linda studied Illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, graduating B A (Hons) in 1986. She specialised in relief printmaking and continues to work primarily with lino printing and wood engraving. For many years she worked as a commercial artist based in Edinburgh, while also exhibiting her prints nationally. Commissions include W B Yeats’ Irish Fairy and Folk Tales (for The Folio Society 2007) and Sir Walter Scott’s The Lady of The Lake (for The Association for Scottish Literary Studies 2010). Now based in Highland Perthshire, her work remains infused with the outdoor world and inspiration is never very far from her back door. Among Linda’s most recent work is a series of linocut prints that include ‘The Tree of Life’, ‘Song of the Goddess’, ‘Nine maidens’, and ‘Earth Goddess’. These bold prints incorporate some of Linda’s favourite images – trees, flowers, animals and birds together with the female form, and her current preoccupation with Goddess mythology. Drawing on stories from the Welsh Mabinogion alongside the legendary Scottish ‘Cailleach’ (expressions of the different phases of womanhood from maiden to crone) these themes allude to tales of transformation and the point where humans and nature merge, bringing a powerful new dimension to her work.

"We encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds." Since our Foundation, in September 2014, we have staged over 120 exhibitions showcasing a varied body of work, by artists both emerging and established. Encompassing a diverse and multi-disciplinary range of artistic practices including: Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Illustration, Photography, Sound, Video and Performance Art. A comprehensive list of all of our past exhibitions can be found under 'Portfolio'. Our overarching ‘Philosophy’ is to actively encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of background with a priority to engage in discussion around accessibility within the arts in relation to mental health, financial hardship and institutional bias. We have also provided work placements to a number of European students, via the Erasmus + and Gecko programme. Partnering with local Venues, Institutes and schools , we aim to develop a strong community that has access to free space, free mentoring and the ability to grow and learn from each others valuable experience and skills. The spaces are offered for hire and for free depending on the nature of the request and is offered to both emerging artists or collectives that deserve a space to explore and harness potential, or established artists with a strong visual aesthetic. Our initiative is to offer this space first and foremost to west-midlands based artists who wish to strengthen their local artistic community and create a discourse for regeneration. We curate approx one show per month in our two exhibition spaces and these are either from chosen submitted proposals or from exceptional and forward thinking artists that we find on our travels. In-between these exhibitions we encourage groups or collectives with a passion for community welfare and development to use the spaces for poetry , music, discussions, rehearsals , workshops or their own curatorial interests. An interdisciplinary UK based visual artist, educator and researcher exploring the potential breaking disciplinary boundaries and finding new ways to approach communication. Exploring how art and science can come together to benefit our health and wellbeing. Sarah has a personal interest in Neurology and Neuro diversity due to having drug resistant Epilepsy. Artist's Practice: Sarah L Goy MA, (Dis) - Animation Production. Sarah initially studied Fine Art and then Natural History Illustration, she now embraces the potential of the moving image. Her focus has always been on emotions, nature and her environment, with a specialisation in drawing and painting from life. Inspired by her travels she aims to capture every day moments in her sketch books, which are the foundations for all her other works. Although taking an analogue and tactile approach to her practice Sarah has become interested in the possibilities and potential of technology, experimental animation and the moving image and how they might be used beyond pure entertainment. This became part of her post graduate research in 2021 and continues to be the core of her research interest. As a visiting lecturer at Arts University Bournemouth ( AUB) and Southampton Art Gallery, she creates and presents new courses, with the emphasis on ' art for all'. Encouraging students to enjoy the process of creating and getting in touch with their inner child. Sarah also creates and runs online art therapy styled creative sessions, again, encouraging a sense of play through which new skills are gained, whilst encouraging a sense of community and inclusivity.

Learn Bookbinding - Workshops & Bookbinding Supplies. I first became interested in bookbinding at university while studying illustration. As an illustrator of books it was natural for me to want to make my own. Having the ability to bind my own books meant I was able to present my ideas to publishers as a high-quality, faithful representation of the potential published book (which is essential as a Children’s Author-Illustrator). I also became interested in self-publishing my own work as short-run batch productions and selling them via book shops and zine fairs. I learned to bind books as a student and I was aware at the time of the difficulty and expense in locating the ‘correct’ tools and materials. These problems lead me to take traditional bookbinding techniques and develop them in a way that makes bookbinding more accessible to everyone. I have been teaching my unique, user-friendly workshops for over 10 years in educational institutions and to the public and they are always enthusiastically received. I look forward sharing my craft with you soon!
