Business development and IP support in Greater ManchesterManchester has a long history of supporting enterprise and innovation. In 1919 the Commercial Library opened in Manchester’s Royal Exchange, providing free access to the region’s businesses and residents to information about trade and industry. The Commercial Library operated in Central Library until the re-opening of the building in 2014, when it became the Business & IP Centre Manchester. In March last year the Government announced plans to invest £13m over three years to expand and build on the success of the Business & IP Centre network, headquartered at the British Library. This major investment has enabled the British Library to widen its support network to local entrepreneurs in towns and cities across the country via a hub and spoke model centred on the 15 existing Centres across the country. Our plans are ambitious, encompassing seven neighbouring authorities, plus Lancaster and Blackpool. Our existing partnerships with many of the libraries gave us a good starting point – well established links via the long standing Ask About Business collaboration, providing information, workshops and support for startups, businesses and inventors. However the new regional expansion will also include Lancaster Library, who weren’t previously involved and have extended our geographical reach even further up the north west coastline! What does the BIPC expansion bring? Firstly there are new branded spoke BIPC’s in specific spaces within Altrincham, Ashton, Blackpool, Bolton, Bury, Lancaster, Oldham, Eccles and Stockport Libraries.

The Manchester Chinese Education Cultural Community Centre was established in 1979. There are 4 sections: Chinese Music, Martial Arts, Culture and The Chinese School. We have performed Chinese Music, Martial Arts, and Cultural plays and dances to the public many times. We are a non-profit making, non-political and non-religious body. The number of our pupils has been increasing steadily to over 300. In 1998 our school registered as a GCSE and GCE A-level examinations centre. Our school is governed by the school committee and managed by the headmistress and staff. All are volunteers. We depend on fees, fund-raising, donations and grants to finance our school. We aim to provide an opportunity to anybody who wishes to study Chinese Language, Culture, Geography and History, enabling them to appreciate our motto: "Chinese moral righteousness and manners". We also invite specialist artists from the UK and abroad to demonstrate Chinese Music, Arts and Crafts to stimulate the pupil's interest in Chinese Culture. On behalf of the centre committee I would like to thank you for your support and generous donations. We are very grateful to the headmistress and staff for sacrificing their valuable time to run the school. We would also like to praise and encourage our pupils in their excellent work.

We started Progress in the Summer of 2012. The brand started in Manchester, England. We take great pride in being from Manchester and the city's culture and history influences a lot of our designs. James Tighe (a then blue belt) started the brand with his close friends and family, all of whom a decade later are still part of the company. We all shared one thing in common, an unbelievable passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We fell in love with the sport and our dream was to one day quit our jobs and work on the brand full time, being involved with the Jiu Jitsu community, to help it grow as much as we could. This dream became our goal. The brand name perfectly represented how we felt about the sport, and us as people. It's all about the Progress you make. We put less emphasis on winning at all costs, and more on improvement. We genuinely want our customers and fans to be the best they can possibly be, on and off the mats, and the essence of our brand is to try our best to make that happen, through our products, our content, our athletes, our projects and everything else we do. Jane loved to learn what she wanted to learn, and spent hours engrossed in videos and web pages about animals. She could tell you about muscle cells and animal anatomy. She researched Native Americans and made all of the games and weapons used by the Lenni-Lenape out of found objects and craft supplies. She spent hours drawing and painting and could write fiction better than most college students. Yet, she loathed school. She rarely spoke in class, dropped out of the gifted and talented program, either didn’t do her homework or would forget to turn it in. She had As on the tests and Cs and Ds in the class. Jane’s academic future looked dismal. Poor grades and high test scores are not a winning combination for college admission. Her public school was not the right place for her, but neither were the local private schools. Academically-oriented private schools do not accept students with poor grades. Schools that accept students with poor grades are not always academically rigorous. Stalemate. Until we started FlexSchool. Jane spent six years at FlexSchool, learned to love learning again, graduated in 2020, and attends a well-known liberal arts college studying anthropology, linguistics, map-making, and art.

Hello and Welcome to my site, I’d like to tell you about myself and my history within the Driver Training Industry as I believe this is vital to know when choosing an Instructor. My name is Gary Phillips and I have been an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) since 1991 when I was working with BSM from their Wigan branch, having established myself as their number one Learner Driver Instructor I Quickly progressed to become a Fleet Trainer and Instructor Trainer, my reputation as an effective Instructor Trainer was soon established and I was covering a large area including Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Leeds. In 1998 I won BSM’s National Competition “Instructor of the Year.” Soon afterwards I was “Head Hunted” by another National Instructor Training company to become their National Training Officer for the North of England covering an area between Birmingham and Newcastle where I was in charge of Training the regional Trainers and Quality Control of Instructor Training sessions, I also devised and wrote a new training system which became very successful. Unfortunately this company went into Liquidation and so I decided to use the vast knowledge and experience I had gained to offer my services to Learner Drivers who were serious about wanting to learn to drive to a high standard in a short time by taking an Intensive Course and Trainee Instructors who had the motivation to qualify as an ADI, the ambition to gain a better Grade in their Check Test or advance their career and become an Instructor Trainer. My Reputation as one of the Top Trainer’s in the Industry is well known throughout the North West & beyond. My Mission is to help you achieve your Goal and by using tried and tested Training Techniques along with my own carefully developed Training Methods and individually focused Tuition to suit your personal requirements, I am confident that if you follow my advice you will achieve your Goal as soon as possible.
