Founded in 2003, amplify provides services primarily to the voluntary sector with a focus on children and youth issues both in the UK and in the Global South. Tom has an extensive history of personal, professional and voluntary work with children and young people and the wider voluntary sector. From a child involved in youth work and global child rights advocacy, he developed skills and experience as a practitioner and advocate. He can bring this mix of experiences into work as a trainer, writer and consultant. Most recently, Tom was Deputy Chief Executive at Y Care International, the international development agency of the YMCA movement. He led their International Citizen Service youth volunteering programme, safeguarding & security, global youth work, policy & advocacy and financial management. As a young activist, he was a member of the steering group of the Child Rights Caucus at the UN Special Session on Children and director of social enterprise ‘Young People Change the World’. He was engaged in local youth participation initiatives creating platforms for young people to be heard or to access services, including in sexual health and children in care. Tom was Chair of Trustees of youth-focussed international development charity Peace Child International. He was previously Senior Policy and Change Officer at the Children’s Rights Alliance for England, where he specialised in children’s participation rights, undertaking policy analysis, Parliamentary lobbying and campaigning for change. London,

Since we opened in 2011 Hammersmith Academy has been striving to do something different. I founded HA because I wanted to create an inspiring school in the local community that had a clear vision, fostered self-confidence in its students and provided a Private School level of education for all. At HA we have adopted the Growth Mindset: excellence isn’t given at birth, but earned through hard work and determination. We focus on pushing our students to attain the highest qualifications they can, but they will only do that if they also develop a strong character. Qualifications open the door, but character gets you through it. Our longer lessons, peer to peer leadership, and mandatory ‘Session 3’ extra-curricular programme, ensure a richer, more in-depth delivery of the national curriculum, in which students take responsibility for each other and have ample opportunity to embrace subjects and skills they feel passionately about. We set high expectations and challenge our students to aspire to be outstanding in all areas of school life. From their uniform, to their attitude to learning, to their conduct in and outside of the classroom, we expect an exemplary approach at all times. Students and staff adopt a professionalism that would be standard in any job, to fully prepare our young people for the world of work. Our students and our staff work exceptionally hard, and you can see that in the sheer amount of quality work and experience that is achieved on a day to day basis. You can see evidence of this in any of our termly newsletters, or on our social media. In my experience of working in inner-city education, and my own time at school, I sometimes saw an attitude that assumed some people ‘can’t do’, and I knew this was wrong. I see that people, of any age, will respond to clear boundaries and clear vision. If you show your students you have belief in them and encourage them to have belief in themselves, their confidence grows and they surprise themselves with what they can achieve. Our students will leave school not only academically qualified, but confident, mature and ready to prove themselves.

We bring together the best of two worlds — advanced academic research in strategy and comprehensive expertise from business — to deliver customised training for industry leaders and help them address specific situations of strategic change. We form teams of strategy scholars and business experts who are best positioned to anticipate and understand critical shifts in an industry. Together they design a unique learning experience around a strategic problem that organisations in that industry are going to face. Then they deliver engaging sessions of collaborative learning that greatly improve participants’ strategic thinking. We can help you... Think ...to understand change As a leader, you deal with continuous change. You look at the ever new opportunities and challenges arising from technological innovation, from advancements in knowledge and science, from new trends in society, and from transformations in the natural environment. And you wonder. The history of business offers countless examples of dominant firms that have been wiped out by a change that they did not see coming. Understanding the nature and magnitude of change is key. It is the first step towards formulating a new strategy and designing a new role for your organisation. But problems are increasingly complex and interconnected. Traditional knowledge and standard ‘business school frameworks’ don’t always apply to these extraordinary situations. Through tailored, problem-based learning, we help you gain complete understanding of the changes to come. Learn ...to create a new vision Every minor shift in any industry has the potential to turn into that ‘big change’. The change that creates new scenarios of use, defines new business roles and relationships and gives rise to new leaders. To remain relevant, today’s leaders must gain a different understanding of strategy. We take you on a journey that will reframe your thinking. We help you ‘see’ today the impact that transformations in the business environment will have on your organisation tomorrow. Together we assess options, we travel pathways and we explore sinergies to find innovative solutions for the future. Together we create a new vision.

We are a leading London maternity hospital and care for more than 8,000 pregnant women and birthing people and their babies each year. We provide all aspects of obstetric and midwifery care, from before conception and before birth (antenatal) to birth and after delivery (postnatal). The majority of pregnant women and people will be cared for by our expert team of midwives who are experienced in supporting those with uncomplicated pregnancies and births. When your circumstances are more complex, our specialist obstetric doctors and allied health professionals will work alongside your midwife to give you the care and support your need to have a safe and satisfying birth. You will have your own ideas about how you would like your baby to be born – whether at home or in hospital – and we do our best to help you to achieve this. We have obstetric-led birthing rooms, midwife-led birth suites with birth pools, obstetric theatres for both planned and emergency caesareans, and a homebirth service.
