Constantly growing, the Archives’ vast collections include maps, books, census returns, newspapers, records from local schools, churches, clubs, societies and businesses, electoral registers, and indexes to births, deaths and marriages. There are also over 30,000 photographs, plus films, sound recordings, memorabilia and much more. A city landmark, this Grade II* listed building was built in the mid-18th century as a home for the wealthy Molineux family, before becoming a hotel in the 1870s. Having fallen into disrepair after closing in 1979, the building has since been fully restored, with the impressive wood panelled Oak Room and ornate Rococo Room giving a glimpse into the former life of the building.

It has been the aim of the Maryvale Institute from its inception to provide opportunities for lay people, clergy and religious to achieve a deeper understanding of the faith and to appreciate more clearly its joyful message for the lives of individuals and communities. Maryvale stands within the Catholic theological tradition, whose riches it seeks to explore, and draws from that tradition an insistence, not only on the foundational importance of faith for theological reasoning, but also on the place of reason in the response of faith.

Alumni Europae ASBL is the association for former students of the European Schools. We believe there is a unique and invaluable connection amongst us that crosses all kinds of social, linguistic and national boundaries. The association was launched at the end of 2011 and has shown great signs of success over these few years of existence. Make sure you join in the fun and register with our new website to get the full AE experience. Alumni Europae wants to unite and reunite former students, as well as parents, teachers and staff from all European Schools, by putting like-minded people in touch on a social and professional level. AE gives you an opportunity to research university and career options, to develop your future based on our members' broad experiences, and keep in touch with people you have shared so much with over the years, not to mention forge new friendships with other alumni from across the world. Once you have registered, you will have access to an archive of members' university experiences, career guidance and a permanent network of information and support. Alumni Europae plans to organize regular events; alumni reunions as well as events supporting the European ideals the Schools were founded upon. We feel this is especially important in a time in which Europe is suffering from an identity crisis in the midst of economic difficulties. Keep checking the website for news on activities and events we will be organising in the near future. The idea of an alumni association for former students of the European Schools is one that has been approached a number of times. Here is a brief history of the associations and what it has become today. 2013 - Alumni Europae ASBL merges with Euresco Euresco, the domain names and all of its activities are transferred to Alumni Europae. 2011 - Creation of Alumni Europae ASBL A new association of former students registered in Belgian Law. They rebuilt connections with schools and have built the organisation you see today. 2003 - The birth of a new community: euresco.org A small team of former pupils led by Nicolas Beffort (Bac 85 FR Woluwé) refused to resign, and decided to give a new birth to the project. They bought the Euresco database and euresco.org domain-name and paid all the debts of the former-organization to start on a new basis. 2001 - End of Euresco as an international organization By the end of 2001, Euresco was virtually bankrupt. The dissolution was effective on December 31st, 2001, and has been published in the Belgian Official Journal (Moniteur belge) on April 11, 2002 1996 - Lack of institutional support In 1996, the European Commission, that supported the launch of the organization from the beginning, could not help Euresco anymore. 1992 - Launch of Euresco Between 1992 and 1996, Euresco published three issues of its Euresco-Book, reaching more than 8,000 former pupils and teachers worldwide. Eight issues of the newsletter (Euresco-News) were also published under the successive Presidencies of François Wathelet, Eberhard Bömcke and Eric Everard.

We are a community group of Sutton Coldfield residents who want to see our public libraries not just survive, but thrive at the heart of our community. Our Mission To offer inspirational and transformational activities for the community to learn, interact and thrive, through engagement with local library services. Our Vision An inspired and cohesive local community, passionate about reading and learning, which enjoys and engages with library services. What we do FOLIO Sutton Coldfield raises funds to host events and facilitate projects within or in support of the public libraries in Sutton Coldfield. On average we put on 2-4 events a week, from code clubs and creative writing workshops, to den building and messy play, via local history talks, school workshops and a whole host of author and illustrator workshops. Democracy The principles of democracy, of having a voice and a say in how institutions are run, are explored within the curriculum and across the school. From this we aim to foster an appreciation of the democratic process and allow students to actively engage in decision making so that they are ready to do this in the wider society when the time comes. Citizenship, PSHE and History in particular consider the nature of democracy and in doing so explain alternative systems, their strengths and weaknesses, and the development of democracy today, for example in proportional representation. Within lessons too, we look to provide opportunities for students to make decisions about their learning based on their prior learning and need, identifying an outcome and working towards it in a way which works for them.

Jesus made Saint Peter the leader of the Apostles and it was on Saint Peter’s faith that Jesus said he would build his Church, Bishop Milner Catholic College is part of this Church and our faith is indeed the faith of Peter. Therefore, our college is committed to offering Christian love and care to each person within it irrespective of their faith background. As such, everyone is valued as a gift from God and treated with utmost respect. Our History Up to 1960 there was no secondary school in Dudley for Roman Catholic children. At the end of 1956 approval was given to build a three storey Roman Catholic secondary school for 400 students. Construction of Bishop Milner Catholic School began September 1957. The build cost of this new school was estimated at around £191,000, it was to include a gymnasium, science and art rooms, a library and a large assembly hall. As the school buildings neared completion, it was decided that the school would be named after Bishop John Milner, the vicar Apostolic of the Midlands. The official opening took place on 21st September 1960 and was conducted by the Most Rev. Francis Grimshaw, Archbishop of Birmingham. There have been many changes to the original building over the years. In 1963 a three floor extension was added to the main building along with a new dining hall. In September 1981 a “Secretary’s” block was also opened. In September 1994 a new large two storey building was built, which included drama and dance studios. In 2003 construction was well underway of what was to become the Bishop Milner Catholic College of today , with multiple ICT suites, Learning Resource Centre, study areas and many new class rooms to replace the 1960s buildings.
