Prof Venu Kavarthapu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist interest in lower limb orthopaedics. He was appointed as a Consultant at King’s in 2006. He qualified at the AP University of Health Sciences in India, before completing his basic surgical and specialist registrar rotation training in the South East Thames Region. His sub-speciality training included a Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery Fellowship in Los Angeles and a Foot and Ankle Fellowship in London. Prof Kavarthapu was the orthopaedic member of the King's Diabetic Foot Team, which in 2007 won a prestigious Hospital Doctor Award. Prof Kavarthapu lectures at national and international conferences on diabetic foot surgery, trauma, hip arthroscopy, and primary and revision hip arthroplasty. He is also actively involved in research and has published several scientific articles on Trauma and Orthopaedics. Prof Kavarthapu’s other roles include Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, lead clinician for the Orthopaedic department, and Orthopaedic Training Programme Director for SE London. He has been appointed Associate Professor at Odense University Hospital and University of Southern Denmark. He is also chairs the British Indian Clinical and Academic Partnership.

Membership of Richmond CVS is free and open to charitable, voluntary and community groups working in the borough of Richmond upon Thames. Our Board of Trustees is elected by our members. We are a member of the South London CVS Partnership alongside counterpart organisations in Kingston, Merton, Sutton, Croydon and Bromley.

Hello my name is Chelsea and welcome to Greens Yoga. I am a yoga teacher specialising in yoga for women’s physical and mental health and wellbeing, in Edinburgh and the Lothians. I teach small group classes and private yoga sessions specialising in pregnancy and postnatal classes, I also offer beginner friendly vinyasa flow style classes and yoga nidra for those who have trouble with sleep, anxiety and stress. Having worked in offices before becoming a Personal Trainer, I believe I can relate to and apply nutritional and exercise interventions when working around busy lifestyles and work life. I work with a range of clients: Men, women, office workers, stay at home moms, business entrepreneurs. Many of whom do not have the time or resources to research every training programme or diet to apply. This is why people contact me. For help to get started with a professional who can apply a wealth of knowledge quickly. With a Bsc in Nutrition, Exercise and Health I look to apply critical thinking and research evidence skills to the advice I provide to my clientele. Researching different forms of training and nutrition is part of my continual development along with attending many conferences, seminars and lecturers from leading specialists. My own exercise and training consists of many forms of Martial Arts as well as strength & conditioning. I work by emphasising form and technique in weight training progressing moving towards a higher intensity. In 2018 I debuted in Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. My own goals are to compete again and gain more experience in the sport.

Our fire safety training instructors are fully qualified and insured fire safety professionals registered with the Institution of Fire Engineers. When they deliver a course they can draw on their years of experience to deliver interesting, meaningful training courses. The three key courses are the Fire Warden / Fire Marshal course, the Fire Safety Awareness course & the Fire Extinguisher Users course. All of our fire safety training courses are Certificated and designed around your specific risk if required. They are tailored so that the course is relevant to the circumstances and the people who work, use or frequent the building. Many less professional training providers will turn up and put a video on. This may prove to be inadequate under the law or in Health and Safety language, not suitable or sufficient. Many companies use online training aids. We do not advise the use of this training technique because students retain a lot less information. A pointless exercise if you want someone to be ‘trained properly’. And of course you can’t ask a computer screen a specific question or relate to real experience as you would with a trained Ex Fire Officer. Our advice to any person given the responsibility
