Vicky Ringer is a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher and an Assessor of children with
Specific Learning Difficulties. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Specific
Learning Difficulties. She is a member of the British Dyslexia Assocation and
holds a practising certificate. Vicky has 12 years experience of teaching both
mainstream and special educational needs. She decided to specialise in dyslexia
after teaching lots of children within the mainstream classroom who displayed
good understanding verbally but struggled to write down their ideas, found it
difficult to remember ideas and were often disorganised. She saw how having a
diagnosis of dyslexia and being taught in a dyslexia friendly way, could raise a
child’s self-esteem and self-belief that they can achieve in the world. Vicky
understands how difficult school can be for dyslexic students and is committed
to helping them realise their potential through having a dyslexia assessment and
through recommending appropriate strategies of intervention. She understands the
concern and frustration parents often feel if their child is underachieving and
works carefully to assess and recognise the child’s difficulties.
