May I, on behalf of the Governing Body, extend a warm welcome to you. The Governing Body at Manor exists to offer support to the Headteacher in the strategic decisions made at the academy, as well as hold the academy to account to ensure that we offer the best educational experience for all of our students. We are a Governing Body of thirteen members who all bring a wealth of skills and experience together to help shape Manor for the future. Our work involves all stakeholders to ensure everyone has a voice in the development of the academy. We meet formally throughout the academic year as a whole Governing Body and perform a number of monitoring visits to ensure our strategic plans have the desired impact on the improvement of our academy. We are all very proud of Manor Academy, both in the academic success our students achieve, and in our work with the local community. We are a wholly inclusive academy and will do everything we can to support students in developing their academic and vocational skills. Chris Richards – Vice Chair I became a parent governor in 2002 and my four sons attended the School. I continued on the Governing body as a co-opted governor when all my sons had left the school. I am retired now but enjoyed a career as a qualified mechanical engineer in both the mining industry and power generation, where I have developed a good understanding of the requirements of health and safety legislation. I have an interest in the sciences and my linked role is as health and safety governor. I am keen to ensure that Manor Academy provides the best educational opportunities for our students as they progress through their formative years. Colin Sawers I was co-opted onto the Governing Body of The Manor Academy in November 2020. I work in the Complaints and Information Team at Nottinghamshire County Council leading a business support team. Since graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Information and Library Studies I have worked in a variety of library and information services. I am a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals. My career has included experience in both public and further education libraries. Since 2012 I have also served on the Governing Body of Peafield Lane Academy in Mansfield Woodhouse.

I feel very privileged to be the Headteacher for the West T PeacockBridgford School. It is a school with an excellent academic reputation; we have consistently been the highest performing school in the county for many years in a range of important measures and one of the best schools in the country. Safeguarding is at the heart of our work in school; we recognise that students who do not feel safe and secure are not able to thrive and achieve. Our students feel safe in school, we are a very caring school and pride ourselves on having a strong and highly competent pastoral team. Each year group is led by a teacher in the post of Year Director, supported by a non-teaching Pastoral Assistant who are always on hand to support the students in our care. As a school we do not shy away from difficult conversations with our students and have a lot of experience in doing this. Our consistent academic success owes a great deal to the dedication and hard work of our staff and students over a number of years. We are fortunate to have teachers who are all graduates in the subjects they teach, and students who value education. The vast majority of our student are keen to achieve, resulting in a positive learning environment where success is celebrated. I do not think I can over-emphasise the positive contribution our student body makes to this school, and I consider us fortunate to have a student population that can only be described as delightful. Whilst we are an academically successful and oversubscribed school, our primary purpose is to serve all of the young people in our care. Our aim is to ensure that every child in our charge fulfils and exceeds their potential, and we endeavour to do this irrespective of their ability or needs. The evidence suggests that we are very successful in this aim. We do place great emphasis on our standards agenda; we have high expectations of our students in terms of their approach to learning, their conduct and behaviour, their uniform and their involvement in the everyday life of the school. We expect our students to conduct themselves at all times in a manner that benefits this school and its heritage, and we are justifiably proud of the many achievements of our students, be they on the sports field or in charity fundraising activities.

We were founded in 1880 as Prendergast Grammar School for Girls on a site in Catford provided by the Leathersellers’ Company, which then funded the school’s move to its current site in 1995. We are now part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of schools, a group of three secondary and two primary schools as well as Prendergast 6th Form. Governance operates at two different levels at Abbeywood Community School as it is an academy and part of The Olympus Academy Trust. The school has its own School Improvement Committee (SIC) made up of Trust Governors which is accountable to and reports to the Olympus Board of Trustees. Abbeywood Community School Improvement Committee The Trust Governors at Abbeywood Community School work closely with the school’s Senior Leadership Team and Staff to develop the vision and aims of the school community. They seek to raise standards and achievement through the appropriate use of all available resources. The Governors’ responsibilities are to: Provide strategic direction for the work and improvement of the school. Support, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school. Ensure accountability for standards and quality of education in the school. Governance is assessed by OFSTED in its Leadership and Management judgement about the school and so is an integral part of the running of the school. The School Improvement Committee consists of people from a variety of backgrounds who represent different areas of the school and local community. Each Trust Governor is appointed for a four year term with all their work being done on a voluntary basis. Currently our Trust Governors have extensive experience in Education, Business, Engineering and Technology. Governors meet as a full team at six meetings during the school year but as well as having a commitment to attend these meetings, Governors will also meet with students and parents, carry out Governor walks around the school, monitor the school improvement agenda, and meet with staff. Baginton Fields School, Coventry admits secondary aged students with severe and complex SEND. The school commissioned Links Therapy Company to provide specific advice, support and expertise to further develop a newly implemented curriculum for students with ASD. Links Therapy provided a bespoke support programme including student observations and assessments, staff tutorials and feedback sessions that focused on personalising best practice for individual students within the context of the emerging curriculum. Staff expertise was enhanced considerably as a result of mutual professional respect and aspiration to provide optimum opportunity for student progression. I was particularly impressed by the extensive expertise demonstrated by Links Therapy colleagues who were flexible and professional throughout their time at Baginton Fields. Simon Grant - Headteacher, Baginton Fields School, Coventry We were very pleased with the work carried out with one of our students. There was a variety of OT packages to choose from. We decided on an initial consultation and a follow up of 6 "hands on" sessions. These were carried out weekly on a 1:1 basis. The practitioners were very professional and liaised with school staff throughout. We were provided with a detailed report after the intervention and will continue to implement the detailed guidance. I would definitely recommend Links Therapy and would use them again in future. Being a small charity our therapists are at a greater risk of becoming isolated from their profession. Links Therapy company have provided a link for our therapists to discuss any professional queries they may have. Their role has developed to the point where they are now helping us to develop and take our service forward. Their input has been essential to us now having an Occupational therapy team in place. There friendly and professional approach to their work has impressed us greatly and look forward to continuing our relationship with them. Sarah Hemings - Centre Manager, Tiny Tims Childrens Centre, Coventry RNIB Three Spires Academy cannot recommend highly enough the services of Links Therapy. All our pupils have special educational needs, some of these can be quite complex. We understand that interventions such as Sensory Diets are so important to helping pupils self-regulate and get ready to learn. Becky has worked closely with our teachers and school leadership to develop individualised programmes for our pupils as well as advising on the purchase of specialist equipment plus delivering in-services training.
