Chitepani is a subsistence farming village, situated 3200ft above sea level and approximately 9.3miles from Pokhara, Nepal’s second city. Although the Chitepani Trust was registered as a Charity in the UK in 2006, it had been functioning as a project since 2000 when Tika Ram Sapkota (a mountain guide at that time) and I, trekked to Annapurna Base Camp to celebrate the millennium. Tika told me about his home village Chitepani and of the need for some kind of small health centre. There was no medical provision in the village and it was necessary to walk a long way down a difficult mountain path and alongside the river before catching a bus to Pokhara and to the nearest doctor. A plan had been discussed but promised funding did not materialise. I decided to become involved at this stage. It took several years of fundraising in the UK before the health centre became well established with a full time health worker and regular health camps attended by a doctor. Health camps over the years have concentrated on issues such as eye problems, women’s health including smear testing, thyroid testing as well as general health and dental hygiene. Recently we have concentrated on providing information about Covid 19

Glena Art Studio opens in London on the 1st of November, 2022, following seven years old history of the Glena Art Studio project for art education, workshops, and creative events across the UK, Bulgaria, and internationally via online tutoring. The leader and teacher of the studio is Galina Hristova, a practising artist and educator, with BA and MA in Set and Costume design and MFA in Fine Arts. Her professional training started at the widely acclaimed National school of Fine Arts ‘Tzanko Lavrenov’, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and ended with the MFA Course at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL, London, UK. Trained in the academic tradition of painting and drawing, Galina now works multidisciplinary with main focus on Painting and Performance art. Together with her teaching experience, she has led different workshops, presentations, and talks. Her practice expands in curation with the realisation of different art exhibitions and live events. Galina has six solo exhibitions and a great number of collective shows. Her purpose as an educator is to guide and encourage students to discover and release their creative potential, but also to support personal development. Napkin Origami I will guide you fold by fold to create a bounty of origami designs including Rose, Lily, Pinwheel, Bunny and Butterfly. This new skill will help you dress your dinner table and is a great party trick or ice breaker to amaze your friends. Christmas Wreaths I will welcome you to Rocket House, dressed for the season, to learn how to make your own Christmas Wreath. We will start with a luxurious hot chocolate and mince pie, under the oak beams and baubles.
