London

We are London Arts and Health! We support artists, creative practitioners and health professionals across the whole of London and beyond. Promoting excellence and engagement in the field of arts and wellbeing, and extending the reach of the arts to communities and individuals who would otherwise be excluded. Through our activities, we work to promote, develop and support the understanding of what the arts can do to contribute to a healthy society, in London and nationally, and by so doing to encourage the use of the arts in settings beyond the mainstream. We are the leading support sector organisation, advocate and expert for arts and health in London. Our vision is that the power of arts and culture transforms and enriches Londoners’ lives and health. WHAT WE DO We hold industry events, share information and opportunities through our newsletter to 5.5k subscribers, and publicise arts and health activity by sharing on our social media channels that reach around 20k users. We deliver arts and health training and creative wellbeing sessions to health care staff to bridge between the arts and the health sector. We are a member led organisation and have spent a lot of the past year talking and listening to our members. We have focused on digital solutions during the lockdown and explored ways of supporting a sector in crisis. We undertook in-depth research of our beneficiaries and developed a tool for practitioners, the Digital Sandpit. We created and launched a new digital tool, pARTner up to support the Thriving Communities Funding bid, which encourages cross-sector partnerships and supports cultural organisations of any size to be on an equal footing. We have recently released a new website commissioned by the GLA, containing the Arts and Culture Social Prescribing Mythbuster Guide. The resources include information, resources, case studies, podcasts and an animation for anyone interested in cultural social prescribing in London. We deliver a yearly Creativity and Wellbeing Festival that went from a small London festival to national in 2019 and saw over 50,000 attendees taking part in around 600 events. The week is held in partnership with the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance. For ten years much of our work has been supported by Arts Council England and we are proud to hold the status of National Portfolio Organisation. London Arts and Health is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and is run by a small staff team as well as a number of fantastic volunteers

I am passionate about delivering useful, relevant legal training for busy practitioners to support them in developing legally literate good practice in adult social care. I am trusted and valued by a lengthy list of local authorities to provide high quality, excellent value bespoke training to their staff which engages and empowers them as practitioners. A subject expert with specialisms in adult social care and health law and in autism, my genuine commitment and enthusiasm for improving legal literacy and best practice in adult social care is evident to those attending my training. I am able to create a supportive learning atmosphere in which practitioners with a range of levels of experience feel confident to express themselves and have the space to develop their skills and reflect on their practice. My training is very popular with staff because of the relevant content and support they receive in applying the law to practice. I am readily able to answer questions at all levels and give realistic examples to support participants in applying the law to the realities of practice. In addition to my extensive experience in developing and delivering training for the public sector, I have a particular skill at explaining complex legal topics in an accessible and engaging way. I create and deliver training on all aspects of the Care Act; Adult Safeguarding law and practice from Safeguarding Enquiries to advanced legal options for complex case work; Mental Capacity law including CoP and BIA Refresher; DOLS and LPS; aspects of Mental Health Law including s.117 and nearest relative; Transitions; Human Rights and broad Legal Literacy training for Adult Social Care. I always deliver all legal training personally. Please see my current courses page for a more detailed list. I also develop bespoke, practically-focused training on all aspects of autism. I specialise in advanced autism knowledge specifically for public sector professionals: social care staff, teachers, health staff at all levels. I bring together my extensive knowledge of autism and my familiarity with the social care, health and education sectors to support practitioners with practical knowledge such as: practical communication with autistic people across the spectrum; supporting autistic people to cope with change. Many of these courses are now delivered on my behalf by a small group of autistic trainers. I also offer specialist autism training specifically for social work (including Care Act and capacity assessment of autistic people & safeguarding autistic people.) I am also able to provide specialist courses in autism for educational settings. I offer a consultancy service in both of my fields of expertise providing tailored support, research and specialist knowledge for a range of purposes. This includes change management consultancy within the public sector aimed at service improvement: around autism and/or improved compliance with legal frameworks. In the autism field, this included a successful and extensive change management project supporting an autism special school to become a Centre of Excellence, consultancy work and outreach with a range of mainstream schools across the area, local authority and health staff and a series of videos on practical autism topics for the Scottish Government. Recent work on the legal framework of social care has involved training for a variety of local authorities, including bespoke courses and advanced training on Safeguarding, the Care Act and in the area of Mental Capacity Law/DOLS/LPS. I am currently project managing a substantial project on Inclusive Governance on behalf of the National Autistic Taskforce (working in partnership with ARGH and AMASE) for Scottish Autism. I am an experienced and well reviewed speaker and present regularly at both autism and public sector conferences: Past presentations Upcoming speaking appearances I also publish regularly in my fields of interest including: My book, Social Work with Autistic People: A Guide to Essential Knowledge, Skills and the Law for Working with Children and Adults (Jessica Kingsley, 2020); ‘Safeguarding Liberty’ (Legal Commentary on the Liberty Protection Safeguards) in Community Living (2019); ‘Safeguarding autistic adults in England’, Autism and Intellectual Impairment Annual vol. 2 (2017), Pavilion Publishing; ‘Most autism practice not supported by good evidence, finds study’, Community Care (2017); Chapter on The impact of the Care Act for adults with autism and learning disabilities in England, in Autism and Intellectual Disability in Adults; Article on school improvement, formerly published on Network Autism (2015); Article on autism training for social workers in Community Care (2015); Chapter on educational policy in Handbook of Interpretive Methods in Educational Research, Springer (2015); Guest blogger on social care law and autism issues at Schwehr on Care and of course my blog here. I represent NAT on the Workforce for Autism Group England (WAGE) co-ordinated by Skills for Health/Skills for Care and was involved with the development of the Core Capabilities Framework for supporting autistic people. Prior to my involvement with NAT, I acted as legal and policy consultant for the National Autism Project and was the company secretary of Autscape for many years.

At Fine Arts College we always aim to find something exceptional in our students – by giving them the freedom to learn. We encourage a community atmosphere in which students’ talents and ambitions are supported. We also provide a real and unique bridge between school and university. Most students at Fine Arts College come to us looking for a private college environment that will help them to grow academically and creatively. Many have found that other schools’ approaches to work are too prescriptive and rigid, which can be counterproductive and stifling for many students. The College has won numerous national awards from the Good Schools Guide, including the Award for Excellence for Boys taking Media/Film/TV studies; the Award for Excellence for Girls taking Art and Design and Photography; and Best Independent School for Boys for Art and Design Photography. These achievements are the product of our collaborative fine arts school ethos, in which everyone is encouraged to pursue their passion and develop their talents. The MasterHearting Club

the masterhearting club

You may be familiar with masterminding, where a group of like-minded individuals get together (in person or online) to support each other, exchange ideas, discuss challenges and so on. They can be executives or any other professional, but are often business owners/entrepreneurs, where people around them on a daily basis usually do not have the same priorities or outlook and so cannot understand the unique challenges they face. Hi, I’m Arthur Kendall, founder of the Masterhearting Club. I had been wanting to set up some sort of masterminding group for some time when one day, in late 2018, I read about a new approach, which instead of focussing on solving problems using the mind, people would use the heart as the guide. This immediately resonated with me and I decided to set up a platform which would allow people (of any background) to set up private or semi-private groups – where certain things can be shared with the wider community. In the first instance I intend to use this online platform to organise a small beta group, with a couple of local friends plus a couple of remote members, to test this dynamic, all of whom have an entrepreneurial streak, though quite different backgrounds, which is important, to allow different perspectives on our challenges. Since I live in a fairly rural area, albeit a provincial capital, a major motivator was to allow closer connections to be formed with people around the world who share a similar worldview on consciousness, leadership and entrepreneurship. This will allow members to spend time with people who more closely align with our international entrepreneurial outlook and desire to make the world a better place. At the same time, I can help others achieve the same and create their own groups within this heart-centred, conscious business community. So this is your community. Not like you read in so many sites and marketing blurbs. I may be the originator, but this thing is bigger than me, the universe is creating it, initially through me, but as a way to bring people together that will evolve it in ways I cannot even yet conceive. I will not set direction and insist on strategies to get to where I want to go. That is the conventional “predict and control” model, which I know is destined for the history books. My model is the “sense and response” model, and I will use it to adapt the site, and as more come on board, you will also contribute to its destiny. Thank you for your interest in the Masterhearting Club and I hope your membership will be as transformational for you as it is for me.

Kathy Kinnersly

kathy kinnersly

I am Kathy, a dedicated mum of two, living with intention, purpose and passion. A lifelong interest in Natural Wellness and Wellbeing - was ignited further when my son Kit’s health needed additional powerful support. He was suffering from serious Eczema and Asthma - and he continues to be naturally supported today. I went on a journey of discovery, and found a whole new fascinating world of plant power! I was introduced to doTERRA Essential oils in 2015 as I was searching for support for Kit, and have never looked back! The power of these pure and tested Essential oils has not only changed my family’s lives and health, but it steered my career into one driven by care, support, empowerment and education for others. I fell in love with these little bottles of joy, and I couldn’t wait to start sharing them with others too! I use the oils daily - and weave them into mini daily habits and teach others to do the same! Simplicity is key! I use lavender to keep calm and support sleep, peppermint for alertness, frankincense for glowing skin, lemon in my water to support daily detoxing, On Guard to support our immune systems and of course Air - to support Kit’s respiratory health. I use them in my cleaning, my skin care, my hair care! But most importantly, they form the basis of me and my family’s emotional wellbeing, we can lean on them any time. Easy, daily routines - they become a habit or a ritual, whatever suits you! I am here to guide and support you! My journey with doTERRA has been one filled with learning and excitement. The quality of the oils coupled with the ethics and integrity of the company has given me such a passion to support and empower others as they embark on this journey with me. Offering everything from education, support and community - I am driven to help other Mummas who are looking for support in the way I was. Whether they need help with hormone balance, better sleep, digestive support, detoxing, emotional support or respiratory support, I am able to help - by providing easy to use and cost effective solutions When I became a Diamond leader with doTERRA here in the UK, it felt like an honour to be recognised for what I do - both in my local community, and globally online. Having grown a fun and dynamic team of like minded women over the past 7 years, I now provide business coaching and mentoring and full support - helping them to achieve their goals, sharing with passion and growing their own business. I am passionate about what I do, and can not wait to support you on your journey too. xx
