I am the founder of AdvocacyTutor.com. I am a Barrister and was called to the Bar in 1993. I spent a number of years at the Criminal Bar representing clients charged with all manner of offences, from unlawful abstraction of electricity to Murder. I have appeared in courts throughout England and Wales, including the Court of Appeal. I currently hold a judicial position; I sit as a panel member of the Teaching Regulation Agency. The role involves hearing and determining the outcome of allegations of misconduct against members of the teaching profession. I am a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, and the Criminal Bar Association. I am also an accredited Advocacy Trainer; I received my accreditation from the National Institute of Trial Advocates in 1999. In 1998 I decided to combine practice at the Bar with a career in Post Graduate Education. I developed my teaching career at BPP Law School, where I held various roles, including Course Director of the Bar course and Head of Advocacy Skills on the Bar Course. In 2010 I was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Law. I have over 20 years’ experience in legal education training, I have extensive experience of teaching civil and criminal Advocacy on the Bar Course, Bar Transfer Test (BTT), Higher Rights of Audience course, Legal Practice Course, and Continuing Professional Development courses, (CPD). I also have substantial experience of course and assessment design. I have a passion for teaching, learning and empowering individuals. Perry Foundation allocates most of its income to funding postgraduate studentships intended to be of benefit to UK agriculture, but also gives smaller awards for other relevant projects. The Foundation's Chairman is Scott Norris, an Essex farmer, graduate of Nottingham University and Nuffield Scholar. The members of the Board of Trustees are people who have wide experience in food and farming matters. Perry Foundation is pleased to report that it has also appointed two Patrons, Lord Boswell and Dr Ian Macpherson, both of whom were former Board members. In 2002, an initiative by Dr Ian Macpherson, supported by Sir Don Curry, led to the establishment of the Agrifood Charities Partnership (AFCP) to improve the effectiveness of charities in the food and farming sectors. What is CCPE? CCPE is a well-established, charitable organisation providing counselling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, adolescents, children and families through a strong, diverse community of over 100 counsellors and psychotherapists practising at the centre. CCPE also runs a range of accredited professional counselling and psychotherapy training programmes with a transpersonal and integrative orientation. including Fundamental Skills, Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (leading to accreditation as a psychotherapist) and two MA courses (child, adolescent and family therapy and a research masters both validated by The University of Northampton). The Building Beauchamp Lodge is CCPE's home and the place where a rich variety of people come to work and meet. It is a seven storey Regency building situated on the bank of the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice. The building has been used for a variety of purposes since its construction in 1853 and has had some illustrious residents including the writer Katherine Mansfield, and Napoleon III. In the last century it has mainly been used for charitable purposes.
