Lighthouse Medical is pleased to sponsor Lighthouse Educational Foundation. The charity’s aim is to provide funding for all types of Primary Care education and ultimately improve healthcare for the Island’s population. They work proactively to fund and organise education/courses that fill the gaps identified by structured training needs analysis. The charity was founded in 2010 and has already helped 1,857 Islanders to further their education, with general and specific training courses. From 2011-2018, the Foundation invested £184,794 in our local healthcare workers. This included supporting local GPs, GPwSIs, Practice Nurses, reception and admin staff. Courses funded so far have ranged from half-day sessions to Masters courses. The charity has supported staff in clinical and non-clinical roles and can help when other funding is limited or not available. The aim has always been to organise courses here on the Isle of Wight, reducing travel time, increasing the ability to attend, and enabling the charity to keep costs down. Much of the funding is donated by Lighthouse Medical, a healthcare organisation that is committed to re-investing in the Island’s Primary Care services. The belief is that by helping to meet education/training needs, Isle of Wight Primary healthcare staff will remain keen, enthusiastic, and able to provide the first-class healthcare services that patients across the Island deserve. This will also help to maintain a sustainable improvement in the Isle of Wight’s health services.

I started my career in in-house recruitment (recruiting MBAs for PricewaterhouseCoopers) and retained search consultancy for blue-chip clients, private companies and start-ups across a variety of sectors including Finance, IT and FMCG. As a recruiter it was clear to me that many well-qualified MBA and Masters candidates were poorly prepared for the interview process, and were unable to explain what they wanted and what they had to offer. This lack of preparation meant that good candidates were failing to get offers. We founded The Career Farm to support the careers teams at Business Schools across the UK and Europe, using our 3-step “GPS” process to help students get better jobs on graduation. Over the years we’ve worked with thousands of students, originally in face-to-face workshops and more recently through our online courses. The Bigger Picture The work we do with Business Schools and our corporate clients helps to support “The Future of Work”, a not-for-profit initiative aligned with the UN Sustainability Goals that gives young people an opportunity to explore the jobs that will help our economies and communities meet the diverse challenges of the 21st century. H&F Training Hub The Training Hubs (previously CEPNs) are education and service providers based within the community. Training Hubs perform local educational needs assessments across Community and Primary Care networks. The Training Hub is tasked with increasing capacity for future workforce training and developing the current and future workforce around the needs of a geographically defined population. The Hammersmith & Fulham Training Hub works collaboratively with other stakeholders across North West London and receives grant income from Health Education England (HEE) for training, education and workforce development of primary care staff. Who is the Training Hub? The Hammersmith and Fulham Training Hub team consists of experienced nurses, pharmacists, GPs and project support. They work closely with all staffing groups in general practice and with Health Education England to share best practice and support the learning and development of staff across Hammersmith and Fulham. We run regular education forums, provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training. What does the Training Hub do? Hammersmith & Fulham Training Hub has four key strategic priorities: Support, develop and expand the scope and quality of clinical services delivered by the 28 GP practices in Hammersmith & Fulham. The delivery of training, education and workforce development projects to support recruitment and retention, and upskilling of the GP practice workforce, which includes all non-clinical practice staff. This also includes the further development of themed education hubs, each one hosted by a local GP practice, and facilitating shared resources across smaller practices to harness a wider workforce mix (e.g. pharmacy, physician associates, nursing associates) Development of a platform across GP practices that supports the development and implementation of accountable care principles. A transformational change programme for primary care locally. Most recently we have secured funding from RM Partners to run a Cervical Screening Project across Hammersmith and Fulham.

I’ve been an holistic therapist since 1996 gosh!!! having always been different I suppose you would call me an eclectic blend of witch, druid, Buddhist, spirit, star-seed and light-worker all rolled into one. Having studied a variety of beliefs, traditions and religions, I’ve taken what I’ve liked and left the bits I don’t. I’ve always lived a busy life style you know …. work, travel, going to clubs , circles, groups and Moots. My life was happy and fulfilled . I’ve worked for myself making lotions and potions , I’ve always been called a Witch, but i don’t mind.., I’ve traveled the world, life was good until I returned from Vietnam having had my booster jab at my Gps surgery. Recovering.. In 2016 after a Hepatitis vaccination left me with my body attacking its self , with stroke like symptoms unable to move more that a few feet let alone walk, talk or look after myself. I was added to the list of random side effects and given a diagnosis of ME/CFs . later on that years fibromyalgia was added to the list having had all joints in my body attacked leaving me in pain like I’ve never experienced (except for child birth..) So, it’s been an up hill struggle these last few years. I’ve returned to my roots seeking out like-minded people and those who can offer healing on an energetic level. I trained in Angelic Reiki and what an experience that was.. Beautiful if not profound connection with the Angelic Realm, I often call upon them when times are hard. My grand-pier had passed to the world of spirit not long before I got sick and during that same year I must have gone to 20 funerals. Three of my friends passed within two weeks and over that 10 month period it became a stand joke, no one would stand near me.. I don’t know how I would have made it through if I didn’t know where they were going or if they were alright. But, I do know where they are, I have that comfort and often feel them around me, I wish you all felt what I feel, the love and support they send, and you can..

Gateway Family Services CIC tackles the root cause of health inequalities by providing community-based support, helping people to sustain behaviour change and build resilience. Since it was established in 2006, Gateway has provided a range of preventative health and wellbeing services across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, supporting people to: manage their own health in a sustainable way maximise the opportunities of the workplace build and reinforce social and family bonds A non-profit organisation, Gateway uses any surplus to invest in the education, employment, health and wellbeing of the communities we work with. Current services COVID-19 (August 2021 update): Our services are running as usual. From September 2021 our main office in Birmingham will be staffed from Monday-Friday, 9-5. Our new Solihull office at Lode Lane is now open, although our office at the Core (Solihull Library) remains closed. Health and Wellbeing is at the heart of our work at Gateway Family Services. The Solihull Integrated Lifestyle Service offers tailored support for people who want to make lifestyle changes including losing weight, eating more healthily, reducing stress and smoking cessation. The lifestyle service, delivered in partnership with a number of other organisations, makes up a significant part of Solihull First, Solihull’s Community Wellbeing Service: a broader partnership of voluntary and community organisations working together to improve the lives of Solihull residents. Together we promote self-care and independence, making it easier for people in Solihull to find information and advice, as well as providing specialist support for those who need it. We deliver the Social Prescribing Link Workers Service in GP practices across Birmingham and Solihull in partnership with SDSmyhealthcare and their Primary Care Networks. Social Prescribing allows GPs and other care staff to refer patients to a Link Worker, based at the surgery. Link Workers then work with patients one-to-one (either face-to-face or over the phone), offering direct support and signposting to help them take control of their own health and wellbeing, and helping them to increase their active involvement with their local community.

Health and care services in Norfolk and Waveney have been working together closely over the past few years to improve services and provide more joined up care for local people. These changes have been made possible by different organisations – NHS hospitals, GPs, mental health and community health services, local councils, care homes and social workers, voluntary and community organisations and others – joining forces to agree and plan for local people’s needs. As a result of the new Health and Care Act, the Norfolk and Waveney ICS has legal status and includes a statutory Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), and a new Integrated Care Board (ICB) called NHS Norfolk and Waveney, which will replace the area’s clinical commissioning group (CCG). This is a new and exciting way of working, creating a genuine partnership that will make a positive difference to local people and help join up health and social care. This is the culmination of many years of effort to build partnership working across the NHS, local authorities, the third sector and patient groups. We’ve already made significant progress in Norfolk and Waveney over the last few years to improve care and provide more joined up services. The move to integrated care gives us the opportunity to work even more closely with our residents and communities.
