Everyone at the Research Academy is passionate about the process of research and the insights it can yield. We’re also passionate about teaching. Our mission is to help people gain internationally respected professional qualifications in market and social research. As an MRS Accredited Centre, we are approved by the Market Research Society (MRS) to provide tuition for both the MRS Advanced Certificate and the MRS Diploma. We take an innovative approach to delivering the MRS Advanced Certificate and MRS Diploma syllabuses. We’ve analysed published studies and interviewed past MRS students to find out what exactly students want, and have used the findings to develop our own learning approach. We’ve harnessed this unique approach to the latest in distance learning technology, offering students an engaging online learning environment and live online tutorials. The Research Academy team has a deep understanding of what market research is and what it is used for. All of us currently work in market research, social research or both. Our clients range from government bodies and charities to Fortune 400 brands and communications agencies. Every one of us has been a university lecturer, a trainer or both – some of us for more than 20 years. We want to train good researchers, and we think participatory teaching and learning are the best ways to do this. This means lots of discussion and debate, lots of asking questions and sharing ideas, and plenty of feedback on written coursework and mock exam questions. Food Tank is for the 7 billion people who have to eat every day. We will offer solutions and environmentally sustainable ways of alleviating hunger, obesity, and poverty by creating a network of connections and information for all of us to consume and share. Food Tank is for farmers and producers, policy makers and government leaders, researchers and scientists, academics and journalists, and the funding and donor communities to collaborate on providing sustainable solutions for our most pressing environmental and social problems. As much as we need new thinking on global food system issues, we also need new doing. Around the world, people and organizations have developed innovative, on-the-ground solutions to the most pressing issues in food and agriculture. Through years of field visits (and years of trying to eat better in her own community) our President Danielle Nierenberg has helped to highlight and promote these best practices. Today, we hope to bridge the domestic and global food issues by highlighting how hunger, obesity, climate change, unemployment, and other problems can be solved by more research and investment in sustainable agriculture. Food Tank highlights hope and success in agriculture. We feature innovative ideas that are already working on the ground, in cities, in kitchens, in fields and in laboratories. These innovations need more attention, more research, and ultimately more funding to be replicated and scaled-up. And that is where we need you. We all need to work together to find solutions that nourish ourselves and protect the planet.

THRE – Third Sector Human Rights and Equalities, is a nationwide project led by GCVS in partnership with HTSI and EVOC The project is working with Scotland’s Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) to develop resources, training and networks to support third sector organisations towards taking a human rights and equalities first approach to their organisational development and delivery. THRE will also be working to give organisations and individuals the skills to become human rights and equalities champions, allowing the sector as a whole to better challenge inequalities and make a positive difference. THRE aims to act as a bridge connecting Scotland’s innovative and thriving third sector to the country’s existing internationally recognised human rights and equalities sector and help to deliver the Scottish Government’s vision for a Scotland that is inclusive, free from discrimination, and where the human rights of everyone are respected, protected, and fulfilled. Staff are based in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Highlands to work with their local TSIs to give the project national reach combined with a local understanding of the needs of the third sector across Scotland. THRE is funded by The Scottish Government Equality and Human Rights Fund which is managed by Inspiring Scotland.
