I’m Simon Michaels. I combine 30 years experience of meditation and mindfulness practice, with being a social entrepreneur and business advisor. Whilst my training and coaching is entirely secular, my experience of meditation comes from a deep and on-going practice in the Buddhist contemplative tradition. I have lay ordination as Upasaka Tsultrim Wangpo in the Namgyal lineage. This ancient wisdom is the foundation for effective mindfulness practice, where sound ethical values underpin the techniques and tools. My long experience in meditation, and on-going practice and retreat attendance, ensures that I stay in tune with 2500 years of teaching, that I channel when working with you. In parallel, I have been a very successful social entrepreneur for the last 20 years, applying the boundless energy that comes from being in touch with one's true self. This has included setting up seven profitable enterprises with multiple six-figure turnovers. I have formal qualifications in business support, coaching, and mindfulness teaching. I’m a member of the International Stress Management Association and have a Mental Health First Aid certificate, and adhere to the code of practice for mindfulness-based trainers. I’m an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a director of several successful ethical companies, and have advised businesses, government agencies, third sector organisations and local authorities, as well as training and coaching hundreds of individuals.

Jo has been working in professional and practice development for the past 25 years – predominantly within Mental Health and Local Government and the NHS. First and foremost, she is a practitioner, who brings real front-line experience to the lives of the people and organisations she supports. Her focus has been on service re-design, staff development and appraisals, coaching and 1:1 support. Her particular attention has been working with individuals to assess their strengths and skillset, building on their personal and professional development and helping people build their resilience to effectively navigate personal and organisational change. Her consultancy experience spans Local Authorities, the NHS, Public, Private and 3rd Sector. She is an experienced and effective Executive Coach. She delivers specific programmes in stress management, team building, coaching and effective working relationships underpinned by a strong ethos in strength focussing and asset building. Her work takes her all over the country. Jo is an ILM accredited Executive Coach. She has an first degree BSc in Sociology and Applied Social Sciences from Buckinghamshire University, and a MA in Leadership and Management from Birmingham University. She has a Diploma in Practice Mentoring Assessment. Jo is also qualified with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (PTLLS). Our Mission To enable a digital economy supported by a more reliable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable digital infrastructure. Our Story In 2003, as applications started increasing in complexity and size, the team initially addressed challenges in Software Architecture reliability and efficiency, setting some of the earlier groundwork around Architecture design languages and software product lines. The focus then quickly shifted to a more holistic approach from the ground up addressing the reliability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability of digital services, from data centres to IT Operations and application design. This led to the establishment of the London Technology Academy (LTA) in 2013. The team laid out some key scientific work around cost-effective deployments in the Cloud and environmental sustainability challenges in software and physical infrastructure. Today, LTA is home to some of the key international authorities in digital infrastructure. The LTA team supported the creation of some of the best practices and global standards and policies on digital infrastructure (e.g EN50600, EU Code of Conduct, EMAS, EcoDesign and EU Green Public Procurement to name a few). The team supports governments and corporates globally to transform their digital footprint to a more reliable, efficient and environmentally sustainable state. The LTA team led European initiatives like EURECA and PEDCA that saw broad transformation and consolidation of government infrastructure and the training of well over a thousand ICT professionals.

The Survey Association, known generally as TSA, is the trade body for commercial survey companies in the UK. The association was formed in 1979 to give a focus for private sector businesses in land and hydrographic survey. It is important to realise, however, that it is not a regulatory body. The role of TSA is to promote best practice amongst its members, provide a forum for members for discussion, debate and continuing professional development and, to the wider audience such as engineers and architects, provide guidance on new methods and techniques and a list of suitably qualified and experienced companies. Today, the association has over 200 companies in membership as full, associate, supplier, affiliate or academic members directly involved in the geospatial profession. TSA is also involved in lobbying Government departments when appropriate and other agencies such as the Environment Agency regarding policies likely to affect or involve the survey profession. TSA meets regularly with RICS and CICES on a range of issues and has established a group called the SLG, or Survey Liaison Group. This body convenes at regular intervals to examine matters of mutual interest and to ensure that there is little or no duplication of effort by the three bodies. Representatives from the Geospatial Commission also regularly join SLG meetings. National Insurance Academy (NIA) is a premier institution devoted to equip the insurance industry with the best of talents. Its close association with the Insurance industry provides the 'real life' reference to its training, education, research and consultancy activities. NIA was established in 1980 jointly by the Ministry of Finance - Government of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India, General Insurance Corporation of India, The New India Assurance Company, National Insurance Company, United India Insurance Company and The Oriental Insurance Company on 16th December, 1980 in Mumbai to be the institute of excellence in learning and research in Insurance, Pension and allied areas.The Academy was shifted to Pune on 4th June, 1990 with the state-of-the-art facilities for learning and research. Initial years of NIA were dedicated to Management Development Programmes catering to the insurance industry professionals to enhance the management skills and do main expertise. Later, the two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management course was initiated to fulfill the growing demand of skilled professionals in Insurance and Risk Management. The programme offers dual expertise in management and Insurance. The Academy has a sprawling (approximately 32 acres) campus housing the administrative, academic, hostel and residential facilities amidst lush greenery. The campus is self sufficient with a Bank, Post Office, Dispensary, Sports, Gymnasium and Swimming Pool facilities.
