The Romani Cultural Arts Company. is the leading Romani and Traveller community-based organisation in Wales, traditionally using the arts and culture as a vehicle for advocacy and empowerment, amongst the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. RCAC is also supporting individuals to become “Community Champions”, as actors and agents of change in their own communities, making a difference for themselves and the wider society. RCAC is managed by a Board (voluntary management committee) made up of representatives from the GRT communities, meaning that community members have a role as decision-makers and are part of the process of shaping the advocacy and rights agenda that RCAC promotes. The Company believes it is essential that the GRT communities be at the forefront of social progress and positive developments in social inclusion, in the struggle or the recognition of GRT rights and promoting inter-cultural understanding. Within Wales and increasingly across the UK, our advice and expertise is sought by local governments, policy-makers, decision-takers and local or national institutions. We are asked to evaluate the effectiveness of their policies and strategies or to support them in consultation to ensure the voice of the GRT communities they serve, is heard. We lead on advocacy for these vulnerable communities, influencing the policy and strategy agendas in the context of a devolved Welsh Government and increasingly internationally across the UK. We have decided to cap sessions at 16 participants, to allow for space in the gym. As much as Covid regulations have eased, we believe that it is worth keeping the space in the gym. In addition to this, it makes for a better training environment if the gym is not too crowded. However, at times we may allow additional attendees at the coach’s discretion. We will continue to monitor this. We currently are not requesting participants to show a negative test before training. We would ask however that you are sensible. If you are showing covid symptoms, then please do not attend a session. If you do test positive please do let us know as soon as possible so we can contact other members so everyone can test themselves. Please do maintain social distancing as much as is possible in the gym. We will continue to review this and if we are unfortunate enough to have cases in the gym, or if government guidance changes, then we may have to think about asking for a negative test result before attending. Gemini run semi structured sessions as these sessions are for adults. There will be a group warm up and basic lines and/or conditioning at the start of each session. After this, participants will be able to use the gym as they see fit. However, there is always a coach in the room who will be more than happy to offer coaching advice and guidance if requested of them and please don’t be afraid to ask us – it is what we are there for! Coaches will also monitor the room and if a particular piece of apparatus is busy we may ask you to rotate to a different piece if you have been on the same one for a while. Whilst we make every effort to ensure sessions go ahead, please be aware that there may be times that sessions will have to be cancelled. If this happens every effort will be made to make up the missed session, either by rolling over your session to another day or adding an additional session to make up for this. This usually only happens due to staff sickness or unavailability due to training courses or competitions. BG Membership We do require all our members, whether casual or regular, to be BG registered. This is for insurance purposes as gymnastics is a high risk sport and accidents can occur. The membership is £19 for the year. If you chose not to become BG registered, then you accept that you are training entirely at your own risk and Gemini are not liable for any accidents that happen. We also reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who is not registered. https://www.british-gymnastics.org/renewal-options Missed Sessions If you cannot make a session, we understand! Life happens. However, we would appreciate it if you could let us know at least 24 hours before the session so we can fill your space. We do quite often have a waiting list due to the capped numbers. If you let us know 24 hours or more in advance that you cannot make a session, we are more than happy to roll your session over to another one WITHIN THE SAME MONTH. However, if you do not let us know then we will not allow the session to be rolled over and you will not receive a refund. Of course, if there are extenuating circumstances, we will judge these on a case-by-case basis. New Members We are always happy to welcome new members. However, I would ask that you please don’t share the booking link with anyone. If anyone is interested, then please do give them Becky’s contact details so she can set them up on the system before booking in for sessions. Behaviour and General Etiquette At Gemini we have worked hard to create friendly and fun adult sessions, where we can genuinely say most of our members become friends. To this end, any unsociable behaviour will not be tolerated. All our members and staff have a right to be respected and treated fairly. Any abuse (verbal or physical), disrespect, bullying etc will never be tolerated and if this happens you will be asked to leave the club immediately.

Kokoro Karate is a traditional Shotokan karate school with a modern approach to practical applications. At Kokoro we take an holistic approach to our training, developing mind, body and spirit. We believe this empowers our students and develops mindfulness, self-confidence, heath, fitness, concentration, co-ordination and respect. The Class Instructor is Sensei Paul Cooper 4th Dan. Paul has over thirty years of experience, achieving his black belt in 1987 with Hanshi Shiro Asano 9th Dan, who was a direct student of Nakayama, the founder of the JKA. Paul has trained internationally with many world respected teachers in his karate career grading with the SKIF, SSKA and the Conroy Karate Group. We are governed by NAKMAS (National Association of Karate and Martial Arts Schools), the only martial arts body in Britain to hold a Government recognised British Standards Quality Kitemark (BS:EN ISO 9001:2015) via the British Standards Insitution (BSI) and is accredited to the Equality Standard: A Framework for Sport at Intermediate level. Paul is a senior instructor and examiner for the NAKMAS Governing Body and the club operates within the strict policies and guidelines laid down by them. Our dojo is at The Old Library Sports & Community Centre, Singleton Road, Splott, Cardiff, CF24 2ET Training is suitable for men, women and children aged ten/eleven years and over. We do allow children (primary school age) by prior agreement to train if a parent or guardian trains as well in the senior class, we also offer our Kokoro Tigers programme that is designed for children from 4/5 (school reception class) to 10/11 years old. Shotokan training is divided into three parts: kihon (basics), kata (forms or patterns of moves), and kumite (sparring). Techniques in kihon and kata are characterised by deep, long stances that provide stability, enable powerful movements, and strengthen the legs. Shotokan is regarded as a dynamic martial art as it develops anaerobic, powerful techniques as well as developing speed.

BEMIS is the national umbrella body supporting the development of the Ethnic Minorities Voluntary Sector in Scotland. BEMIS was established in 2001 to promote the interest of minority ethnic voluntary organisations, develop capacity and support inclusion and integration of ethnic minorities communities. It is a member-led and managed organisation with an elected board of directors. The major aims and objectives of BEMIS are to represent and support the development of the ethnic minority voluntary sector across Scotland, and to support the diverse communities and individuals that this sector represents, especially those who are under- represented and disadvantaged. BEMIS aims to address inequalities by empowering communities, working towards an inclusive society by establishing structures, which recognise diversity and empowers ethnic minorities, and ensuring that they are fully recognised and supported as a valued part of the Scottish multicultural civic society. Initial Key aims and objectives: To strengthen the capacity of the ethnic minorities voluntary sector. Raise the profile of the ethnic minorities’ voluntary sector and its needs at strategic, local and national levels. To take a lead on policy issues and debate which are of concern to minority ethnic communities at both local and national levels. Key Strengths Of BEMIS as identified in the HMIE review: a highly committed board of directors and staff who brought with them a good range of professional skills and a clear understanding of their responsibilities; the organisation had been successful in uniting a diverse range of stakeholders; BEMIS was highly valued by stakeholders and was making a positive impact on individuals, organisations and communities; strong commitment to inclusion and diversity; and strong commitment to ensuring grass roots organisations have a voice rather than acting as a spokesperson for EM communities. Their commitment to capacity building ensured that local projects were self sustaining and no longer required significant support from BEMIS staff The comprehensive range of accredited training opportunities offered including a BA in community regeneration and HNC working in communities ensured EM people in local communities had the skills to better engage with local structures and partnerships Managers and staff at BEMIS were highly motivated, energetic and committed to the purpose of their work. They worked very effectively as a team, providing high levels of mutual support. The very strong commitment of BEMIS to diversity and inclusion was reflected in its diverse membership. Participants in the professional development courses came from a range of ethnic backgrounds The organisation had made very good efforts to target specific communities with its work, and to involve them in its management the organisation was not fully capitalising on its excellent work. It should develop better means to communicate and celebrate its successes so as to raise its profile. There is a strong commitment at both board and staff level to ensure that the diverse voluntary sector and communities this sector represents are fully recognised and supported as a valued part of civic society and a multicultural Scotland. BEMIS enjoys a high proportion of fundamental Strengths that are essential for the development and delivery of our role and remit. The opportunities for developing and delivering our strategies and objectives are ample and remain to be explored and exploited to the full in support of the diverse EMVS as well as government policies and initiatives around equality and social justice. About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT)  The Advanced Reservoir Engineering VILT course will address modern practical aspects of reservoir engineering during 5 half-days packed with lectures, virtual exercises, discussions and literature reviews. The participants' understanding of fundamental concepts and modern practical reservoir engineering methods will be deepened and a wide range of topics will be addressed. Topics covered The VILT course will emphasise reservoir engineering applications and include topics such as: Rock properties of clastic and carbonate reservoirs Reservoir characterisation Reservoir fluid behaviour Identification of main production mechanisms Design and analysis of well tests Production forecasting Application of Decline Curve Analysis in mature fields Detailed modeling of wells and reservoirs Water flooding Application of EOR methods Reserves and resource estimation Reservoir simulation approaches, model construction and well, aquifer and fluid modelling Development planning Uncertainty handling and scenario methods Depending on the background and requirements of the participants, some topics may be given more emphasis.   Training Objectives In this VILT course, reservoir engineering methods will be addressed which are of use in the daily reservoir engineering practice. The focus will be on practical applicability. Use is made of practical and actual reservoir engineering problems and examples to illustrate relevant subjects. By attending this VILT course, participants will have a deeper knowledge of modern reservoir engineering practices for reservoir development and production, including the construction and use of reservoir models. Target Audience The VILT course is intended for experienced reservoir engineers with prior technical or engineering exposure to production activities. Petroleum engineers and geoscientists who require more than general knowledge of reservoir engineering will also find this course useful. Participants are invited but not obliged to bring a short presentation (max of 15 minutes) on a practical problem they encountered in their work. This will then be explained and discussed in the VILT class. A short test or quiz will be held at the end the VILT course. Training Methods This VILT course will be delivered online over 5 half-days. There will be 2 blocks of two hours per day, including lectures, discussion, quizzes and short classroom exercises. Additionally, some self-study will be required. Two breaks of 10 minutes will be provided each day. Course Duration: 5 half-day sessions, 4 hours per session (20 hours in total). Trainer Your course leader is an independent Reservoir Engineering Consultant. He provides project consultancy, quality assurance and reservoir engineering training for major oil companies, governments, engineering firms and other global customers. Before he retired from Shell in 2012, he held positions as Senior Reserves Consultant for the Middle East and Reservoir Engineering Discipline Lead. He is a petroleum engineering professional, with global experience, mostly in Shell companies and joint ventures (NAM, SSB, SCL, PDO, SKDBV). He has been involved in reserves and resource management, has extensive reservoir modelling and reservoir simulation expertise, and wide experience in the design and delivery of training programmes for employee development.
