The club was established in 1938 by pupils of Paget Road School in Erdington, Birmingham and was accepted into the Intermediate Division of the Birmingham Juvenile Organisation Committee. In their first two seasons Paget enjoyed instant success, winning the league title on both occasions; however the outbreak of the 2nd World War brought a halt to progress. Following the outbreak of peace, Paget joined the Birmingham Youth and Old Boys AFA, before moving to the Central Amateur League in 1949 and then the Worcestershire Combination (now Midland Combination) in 1950. In 1951 Paget Rangers purchased a site on Springfield Road in Walmley for a cost of £550. Springfield Road was to be Paget’s home for the next 42 years. The 1950s was a decade of consolidation for The Bears, before experiencing their first major success in 1960 when a unique quadruple was achieved. Paget won the Midland Combination League Title, The Midland Combination League Cup, The Birmingham Junior Cup and the Sutton Coldfield Charity Cup. Paget went on to retain the league title again in 1961. Further success followed in 1967 when Paget Rangers defeated Alvechurch to win the Midland Combination League cup (Alvechurch had beaten Paget in the previous year’s final). In 1970 Paget won the Midland Combination Premier Division for the third time, following that success with a second-place finish in 1971. In 1971 the club erected floodlights at Springfield Road, becoming the first Midland Combination club to have floodlights in the process. The switching on of the lights was marked by a visit of Aston Villa to Springfield Road, drawing a crowd in excess of 2000.

One To One Coaching One to One training is a unique tool that works great when trying to develop skills to suit your own son or daughters needs. These session are designed to develop all areas few examples could be - defending, passing, dribbling, finishing. Our One to One training programmes work on speed, agility and quickness, improving technical ability, mastering 1v1 situations, effective turns, dribbling, 1st touch, shooting and finishing, running with the ball, range of pass, ball manipulation and tactical awareness. Sessions are bespoke to what you need and the position you play. With many clubs having little time to work on individual technical ability and skills my football coaching will help to improve your playing ability through detailed analysis and personalised coaching. The DW Goalkeeping Academy was established in 2016 by Dan Worthington, following on from 4 very successful years running Goalkeeping sessions for local grassroots clubs. Professional, modern and innovative training sessions designed to develop Goalkeepers of all ages and abilities. From those who are just starting out, to Goalkeepers that are playing Academy football at professional clubs. Based in Essex, weekly training sessions are on floodlit third generation (3G) artificial grass pitches across venues covering Shenfield / Brentwood / Billericay / Havering / Maldon / Romford and surrounding areas. Owner and Head Coach Dan is a passionate, enthusiastic and qualified Goalkeeping coach with experience coaching at grassroots and within a professional environment. He has held positions at Dagenham & Redbridge as Assistant Academy Goalkeeping Coach and currently West Ham United as their International Academy Goalkeeping Coach. He has experience coaching in the UK and the USA, having worked for numerous category 1 Academies stateside on their national camps in partnership with Global Image Sports. Dan and the Academy coaches have overseen some of the DWGKA keepers who have excelled go onto sign for professional clubs, with others securing trials. Bleeker’s Keepers goalkeeping academy offering small group and 1-2-1 training to goalkeepers of all ages and abilities. We are aiming to bridge the gap between academy and grassroots goalkeeping by providing equal opportunities for all players to have professional training for the unique position, which can be difficult to find within normal football training. We provide expert coaching, going through a full range of techniques, so vital to know when between the sticks. Weekly sessions are designed to focus on topics from kicking and passing composure, which has become an integral part of the goalkeeper’s arsenal in the modern era, to handling, diving and positional techniques for shot stopping. We also go into depth on crossing and corners tactics and execution, game management, and much more.
