London
Chaigeley School is a Non-maintained Special School, established in 1946, that
caters for young people between the ages of 8 and 16 who have social, emotional
and mental health difficulties. Approved by the Department of Education,
Chaigeley School provides a daytime schooling provision. The school is part of
Chaigeley Educational Foundation, which is a registered charity. The Chaigeley
ethos is based around the Quaker principle of respect for the individual and
valuing the contribution made by everyone. It gives students the opportunity to
make choices in a non-threatening environment using positive reinforcement and
the building of solid trusting relationships to encourage positive progress. All
students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own actions in
preparation for the next stage in their development.
