Our mission is to give hope and opportunities to children and young people in West London, so they fulfil their potential and leave prepared and excited for adult life. The Avenues team of youth professionals provides a safe, caring, youth-led space in a disadvantaged inner-city area, where young people can learn, develop and build towards a brighter future. Open-access after-school and holiday programmes take place in our purpose-built youth centre in North Westminster. Activities encompass sport, healthy cooking, music, art, dance, radio, skills development and career pathways. Delivered by our experienced team, the work is child-centred and promotes enjoyment, collaboration and individually tailored support towards personal development. Young people are encouraged to become volunteers, participate in social action, and to use their voices to share their ideas, opinions and needs, which in turn helps us shape the youth programmes. We are committed to the highest quality of youth work and in 2021 we were awarded the Gold Level London Youth Quality Mark. This is the badge of excellence for our sector, a quality assurance programme co-delivered with UK Youth and recognised by City and Guilds, local authorities and funders. The Avenues is one of London's leading youth centres. The history of the school can be traced as far back as 1844 when the Sisters of Mercy came to Nottingham and opened St Mary’s Elementary School and St Catherine’s Day and Boarding School on this site. olihull Stagecoach opened in 1997 and many of our students have gone on to achieve great opportunities in TV, film and professional touring productions such as Les Mis, Matilda, Scrooge and many more. We pride ourselves on offering a safe environment where children can receive quality training in the performing arts. We welcome children with no previous experience and all we ask is that they are enthusiastic and keen to learn. Students participate in all three performing arts disciplines: drama classes, dance classes and singing classes - helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation - as well as being educational and fun. We offer examinations with Trinity College London, London College of Music and LAMDA. We operate from Tudor Grange school and our classes run for 3 hours 6-16 yrs or 90 mins 4-6 yrs and 45 mins 2-4 yrs during the school term.
