sanderson dance school
In 1976 Sanderson Dance Studios was established by the Principal, Jackie
Sanderson and in its infancy, the business operated out of many venues in the
Pendle area including the Conservative Club, the Railway Workers, St Georges
Church Hall, St John’s Ambulance and Brierfield Town Hall. A lease for rooms
above the Co-Op Supermarket, Brierfield was acquired and Sanderson Dance and
Fitness Centre was launched. During the 15 years that followed, the studios were
expanded to include the Royal Dance Club in Clayton le Moors and the Candy Club
in Burnley. In addition a new Ballet and Tap Department was formed under the
leadership of Lynne Mc Cheyne in 1988 and over the years as the popularity of
the dance classes increased, Sandersons became one of the largest schools of
dance in the UK.
