Mercia Boxing Club was founded in 2021 by Don and Emma Howes. After teaching their own children to box from an early age and Don having boxed himself, they saw the benefits of teaching young people to box. Don and Emma decided to reach out and provide boxing classes to the wider community within and around Tamworth. They have supplied the absolute best coaching for the members of the club; this has been proven in several wins through successful amateur bouts.

We’ve put together a short timeline below, to show how K-Star has become the biggest Thai Boxing Academy in Birmingham and one of the best in the UK. 1989 The birth of K-Star Muay Thai Steve Logan K-Star K-Star Founder, Steve Logan starts the first Thai Boxing classes at the 610 Community Centre, Kingstanding Before a permanent facility was found, K-Star’s founder and former professional wrestler, Steve Logan first started teaching Muay Thai back in 1989 out of the 610 Community Centre in Kingstanding. Some of the original members still train today.
