Personal Care Regulatory Ltd.

personal care regulatory ltd.

Personal Care Regulatory (PCR) are a friendly team of 'in house' cosmetics regulatory, toxicology, compliance and quality experts, offering a comprehensive range of services backed up by the latest safety software and an extensive database of detailed toxicological profiles. It might seem tempting to turn to cheap solutions to 'get the job done' as quickly as possibly. At PCR, it’s more than just paperwork and box ticking. It's about understanding what your business needs and delivering it brilliantly. This is a regulatory company with a difference; experts in compliance across the supply chain. From trademark in-house safety assessment software which enables a faster and more detailed CPSR, bespoke end-to-end compliance service, through to expert label copywriting service, we offer a full range of high quality services and ‘wrap around’ solutions, tailored to growing beauty brands. PCR’s mission and purpose At PCR, we believe that regulation and compliance are the cornerstones of product quality. Our mission is to cut through the complexity of compliance, and offer the level of service and expertise usually reserved for big corporations to growing brands, at a fraction of the cost. We work in partnership with you, acting as your ‘in house’ experts, giving you the confidence to take your brand to the next level. The highest standards, delivered by a team of supportive experts. Above all, we strive to make the process as straightforward as possible, at great value, every time. Dr. Mojgan Moddaresi (Founder) – Personal Care Regulatory About the founder Dr Mojgan Moddaresi (AKA ‘Dr M’) has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharma and cosmetics industries. She is a pharmacist in training (PharmD) and proudly holds the accolade of receiving the first ever phD in Cosmetic Science from the London College of Fashion in collaboration with Kings’ College, London. Dr M has built on her scientific training and background with extensive experience working with a range of brands. This has led to a unique approach in helping brands to grow and thrive, by giving them access to help and support usually only reserved for larger businesses. Knowing that great compliance and quality support helps a brand to grow faster without hiccups or headaches, she identified one key insight. The best support is usually delivered by a large ‘in house’ team of toxicology, claims and regulatory experts. Smaller brands had previously had to rely on patchy consultation or manufacturer services, and the idea for PCR was born. A comprehensive compliance company which used the latest in data and IT to support a team of experts, offering end-to-end support for growing brands. She still believes that good compliance across claims, safety and quality are the foundations of a strong and differentiated brand. Dr M and her team have a shared passion for product safety, and delivering a service that gives peace of mind to ambitious brands.

The idea for this site came as my sister and I were practically passed out after an amazing massage at Rituels d’Orient in Barcelona in 2010, and it was the first step down a path of exploring my passions and sharing them with others. I just thought, wouldn’t it be great if you could offer this holiday to everyone; a safe, easy, affordable spa and hotel break – the kind that you could take your mum on and know that she would enjoy it. I hope that this website can do for travel what Gok Wan has done for fashion • Help you to find a good quality, affordable break somewhere new and exciting, that will replace the same old panic buys • Give you a designer spa holiday experience for a budget holiday price As much as I love looking through holiday sites on the internet, sometimes the amount of choice just gets too much – and then I find myself on Tripadvisor trying to figure out which of the rave reviews are made up and which of the nasty ones are just people who were having a bad day. I aim to only recommend one affordable hotel, spa, sight, top restaurant, everyday restaurant, and shopping tip in each location, so you can easily create your break with no need to search through all the travel websites or experience Jellyfish. London is the exception, but even here, in my home town, I will only recommend the exceptional (and that includes exceptional value.) In October 2009 I had 2 weeks holiday from work. I would have loved to have booked something but I was so burnt out and confused by all the choice that I gave up. I had a nice time – I spent time with my family, went to IMBS for a massage, took up yoga again, did lots of DIY, visited the Cotswolds and even surfed at East Wittering, but I also decided to never let myself get that run down again. So amongst the great spa and hotel breaks that I’ll be sharing here are also ideas for escapes that take a few minutes, hours or just a day, everyday escapes that you can indulge in, if you just can’t face the idea of packing a bag or getting on a plane. We all love to get away, but as the person who gets asked to sort out the travel details, by boyfriends, family and even my work colleagues (who are desperate for me to organise a trip to my favourite Moroccan spa) I also know how great it would be sometimes to just find a value for money holiday at the click of a button – and I hope you’ll find it here! And I hope you will tell me if there are things you want that aren’t here yet, and what you think of these escapes.

Melissa Liversedge Yoga

I first became aware of yoga as a child. My grandmother used to tell me to practise ‘yoga breathing’ (long, slow inhalations and exhalations) if I ever felt worried or unwell. She swore by the benefits of yoga, both physically and mentally, and although I never actually saw her practise a single pose, I considered her to be the ultimate yoga guru! After University, I worked in the City as a stockbroker, at which point I officially started going to yoga classes, seeking a counter balance to the busy lifestyle I was living. I went to all sorts of different classes - whatever the gym had on offer and whatever I could find locally: flow yoga, power yoga, bikram yoga, sivananda yoga. I soon realised that yoga could be quite a different experience depending on the type and the teacher. I had the good fortune of meeting a Japanese colleague who swore by the benefits of Iyengar Yoga. She introduced me to a senior Iyengar teacher, Maxine Tobias, who completely transformed my experience of yoga. She had spent many years under the guidance of BKS Iyengar himself and was very inspirational. I was amazed how the Iyengar method gives you a deep understanding of your own body, its strengths and its weaknesses. Although the classes looked easier, and you got to use belts and blocks, actually I found them the most challenging. Furthermore, the classes were full of real people: all ages, shapes and sizes. Each person came to understand their limitations and their strengths and were on their own journey. It wasn’t about the gymnastics of the poses, it was about the relationship between the body and the mind. After several years of practice, I applied to do my teacher training course in 2005, but then found out I was pregnant. Life and babies took over, so it was only after another 10 years and a new life in Hampshire, I felt I was ready to reapply to train as an Iyengar Teacher. The training course was long and challenging, as it should be when you are dealing with other people’s bodies, but I was lucky enough to have one of the best and most experienced teachers living nearby, Judith Jones, who pushed and encouraged me to aim for precision and quality of teaching. Judith has spent many years visiting Pune and the Iyengar family, and has always been heavily involved with the Iyengar Yoga Association UK. She is truly remarkable and continues to be a great inspiration & mentor. I am currently preparing for the next level of qualification within the Iyengar Yoga system and hope to continue my yoga journey for as long as I am able. I have a great husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs, and a fish called Martin. I like the sea, travel, fashion, shoes and people. Family is the most important thing to me.
