She's also taken courses in Lantern Building and Banner Making. Aliss has a bright and fully equipped sewing studio, The Stitchery at The Welsh Mill and offers Sewing Courses, Making Workshops and Individual Tuition. Our teaching techniques at MAKE are very holistic. All of our students design and make items that they want to create for their level of skill. From basic skirts, curtains, pillows, simple pencil cases through to ultimate fashionista jackets! With my younger teenage fashion students every project is more exciting as its bespoke to them and their vision...just like a mini fashion school. We're just there for you on your journey, enabling you to actually make it! We work with students from concept, learning how to measure, fabric selection through to finally sewing your final project from curtains to clothing. Most of our current students couldn't sew or use a machine before they came to MAKE. After our regular weekly sessions, they now make clothes that they actually want to wear and create curtains or bags that make their friends envious! Anyone can learn to sew, design and make. All you need is a bit of encouragement, patience and a nice cuppa to help you along your way!

I believe arts education should be accessible to all. Over the past few years, I have run experimental knitting and textile workshops across the country, including Leyden Gallery (Creature Dis-comforts, part of Whitechapel Gallery’s Nocturnal Creatures event), and at the Greenbelt, Supernormal and AntiUniversity festivals. I initially studied City & Guilds Embroidery, before gaining a First Class BA Hons degree in Fine Art.

ABOUT US Fast Fashion Therapy is a sewing workshop that encourages the repair, upcycling and remodelling of used clothes, looking to break our habit to always buy new. A collaboration between Eleanor & Sarah, the original idea for the name came from creating a workshop space that acted as a practical therapy for our collective addiction to fast fashion. The workshop also offers a therapeutic space for slowing down and taking a more mindful approach to fashion. Our values of repair and reusing clothing are extended throughout our work. From the equipment and materials that we use to the marketing materials that we have printed.
