While the fun and excitement at Wildawood is endless, we know that sometimes children need a break to get some rest, even though they might never admit it! With that in mind, we have a spacious yurt with comfortable furnishings and a log burner so there’s somewhere to stay warm and dry. They can even curl up and have a nap if they want. Here’s a little bit more about them! They have 7 children ranging from 1year old to 18 years old and 3 dogs! We are very busy but have lots of family fun which is filled with laughter and love. After training as an Early Years teacher at Cambridge University, Melissa became a teacher for a couple of years and then opened Rainbow Day Nursery over ten years ago. Darren used to be involved in the building industry and changed his career in 2014 to work alongside Melissa at Rainbow Day Nursery to develop and enhance their outdoor provision as they both realised and understood the importance of this for children. They have also successfully run a Forest School programme at the nursery in their local nature reserve for almost two years. The two of them have always felt strongly about the benefits of Forest School learning. Our Team: Ond Finneran - Ond is our Nature Nursery manager. She has lots of experience with early years and forest school. Ond has her level 3 childcare qualification and has almost completed her level 3 forest school training. Her passion is the outdoors and she loves nothing more than being in the forest. Sam Hayward - Sam is our deputy at Wildawood. She has level 3 in both childcare and her level 3 forest school award. Sam loves facepainting with the mud!

Heatherwood's Equestrian Academy is available for private & small group lessons or you may join us for one of our week-long summer day camps. The Academy teaches safety around horses, horse anatomy, proper grooming, feeding and housing, equipment use and learning to "tack up" a horse. Riding covers proper seat, leg and hand position as well as learning to walk, trot and canter using correct diagonals, leads and gait. Each rider will be assessed to determine the pace at which they will advance to the next level. Heatherwood's goal is not only to teach horsemanship to our students, but to foster a bond between the rider and horse in order to develop a sense of awareness and sensitivity to the special attributes of their relationship. Every animal and guest at Heatherwood is treated with respect and kindness. Children often gain self-confidence and independence in their abilities to care for themselves and our animal friends. Private & Small group lessons - Offered in eight week sessions consisting of a 1/2 hour session each week. Small groups consist of two riders. Riders should plan extra time both before & after each lesson to help groom & tack up their horse if able to do so. Heatherwood facilities offer indoor & outdoor riding arenas for year round instruction. We also take students on our riding trails. We welcome adult & child riders of all levels, from beginners to those ready to advance to jumping. Whether you want to learn to ride for pleasure, advance to horse shows, or ride for an excellent way to exercise, Heatherwood Academy will tailor a program for your interests. Birthday parties - For up to ten children with riding lessons given for the party guests. We provide the cake, drinks, & decorations. Your guests learn about different breeds of horses & will groom a horse. Parties are scheduled year round. Boy & Girl Scout Troops - Individuals or the whole troop may come to Heatherwood to work on and earn merit badges. To say I am a fan of Pilates is somewhat of an understatement – It has changed my life quite fundamentally. I discovered Pilates in 2012 and the impact has been profound. I am both physically and mentally stronger, I have more energy, I have more stamina, and yes, I look better. Let me explain each one of those rather dramatic statements. The basic principles of Pilates are breathing, concentration, control, centering, precision and flow. I am stronger physically due to the nature of the exercises – they’re intense. Pilates was originally developed in the early 1900s by Joseph Pilates from a combination of yoga, martial arts, boxing, and weightlifting. It’s not a high impact cardio routine, but controlled, precise movements that challenge the body to promote strength, flexibility, and balance – and it just works. The body becomes stronger, firmer and better aligned to cope with daily life more easily. I feel energised because I have learned how to breathe properly and I have improved my posture significantly – I have asthma – quite a scary condition I find – and understanding the effect of posture has been a massive help and taking control of my breathing has empowered me – I feel in control and less scared as such I am stronger mentally. I find daily activities don’t leave me drained as I have much more energy. I’m 43 and my world revolves around my family; a very active husband, he’s the current Masters National Champion and used to swim for his country; our brilliant daughter Emma, she’s 6 so every day brings something new; our busy busy dog Oscar, a working cocker who nobody told is nearly 11; and this year we added a couple of loppy bunnies to the team. We are more active than the pre-Pilates me would have been able to be – I’m so grateful I discovered it – the lifestyle it affords me is wonderful. I didn’t start Pilates to lose weight (there are faster routes if that’s your ambition) but lose it I have – not a particularly massive amount – I was never a candidate for Britain’s Biggest Loser but it looks like I have lost more than the scales suggest – just because engaging the core muscles brings about an improved posture that looks better. The lower abdominals and hips are where it’s most significant – and the strength that comes with that is clear. Pilates exercises are applicable – and adaptable – to suit pretty much anybody, whether you’re an active individual or not. Free from back pain, joint pain or in need of some rehabilitation, then I can help you.

Festival Our 2022 Festival spanned 9–24 April and explored the theme of Revolutions – lifeforms, lifecycles, revolutionary ideas and solutions to global challenges. This year's Festival saw the return to our family hub at City Art Centre and two major new interactive exhibitions, DataSphere and Consumed, alongside a vibrant and varied programme of other events for audiences of all ages in collaboration with our network of amazing partners. Learning Our touring education programme Generation Science has been providing unique science experiences to schools across Scotland for 30 years. In light of COVID-19 restrictions, this year's programme was made up of pre-recorded workshops, loan kits and make-along boxes which were designed to get pupils out of their seats and involved. Secondary schools careers event Careers Hive was hosted this year on Gather, an interactive online digital platform. Over 2,400 students from over 30 Scottish schools took part in the event, which highlighted the opportunities available to those who study STEM subjects. Worldwide Edinburgh Science also operates a large-scale international programme of work under our Worldwide arm. It regularly presents events overseas and is currently the Major Programming Partner of the annual Abu Dhabi Science Festival, helping to curate, produce and deliver the event. For international partners, the team at Edinburgh Science provide engaging content, curatorial advice on programming and business planning support, along with expert staff and training for local science communicators. Need advice or information on a legal problem? Whether the problem is personal or business, one of our member firms should be able to assist. Today the Surrey Law Society is the sixth largest in England and Wales with a membership of around 1000 solicitors and is seen as the Surrey Lawyers’ voice. Surrey Law Society was formally incorporated in November 2001. It was a coming together of the three existing Surrey law societies in order to improve economy of administration and provide a far more effective voice for Surrey lawyers when talking both to the Law Society and other professional bodies. Previously the Mid Surrey Law Society had served members in the north of Surrey and London boroughs of Richmond, Kingston, Sutton and parts of Merton, the name deriving from the days when Surrey was everything south of the Thames in Central London. The South East Surrey Law Society was based around Dorking and its environs and similarly the West Surrey Law Society comprised of members in or around Guildford. The amalgamation enabled us to reach parts of the County that the old societies did not reach and increased membership dramatically to its present level. It is now in the top ten local law societies throughout the country, when considering that these include the City of London, Manchester and Birmingham, the Surrey lawyers’ voice is now far more effectively heard in high places. The ‘map’ of the committee as at 27th Nov 2013 identifies the group that currently manages the Society. Originally the presidency rotated around the old three centres of activity but over the years the integration is such that we are now one big happy family, providing not only an effective CPD programme but representatives on just about every legal forum that can be found in the County and several others. One of the main aims of the Society is to get to know fellow lawyers through networking and social events as diverse as beer and skittles evenings, walking weekends, dinners and quizzes. Liaison regularly takes place not only with adjoining societies but also on a national level. Strong and permanent links have also been forged with the University of Law in Guildford itself and Kingston and Surrey Universities where we are happy to sponsor events to assist the students in various ways. We look forward to playing a full role in the legal world and promote the role of Surrey solicitors for a very long time to come.

A message from Sarah Bennett, IFtL CEO I know every CEO is proud of their Trust, their schools, the staff and the pupils within it…..and I am no exception. I know every CEO feels their Trust is unique, that their USP is different from every other; and they have a WOW factor that exceeds all. I am absolutely no exception to that either! I am personally so proud of the journey we have travelled and what we have achieved to date - created by people with a genuine desire: ‘To inspire the futures of us all through learning together’ We formed Inspiring Futures through Learning (IFtL) in 2016 as a natural extension of our school improvement journey. Indeed, for over twenty years our founding school, Two Mile Ash School had worked with very secure, high-quality partners in their ITT School-Based Partnership, supporting newly formed Trusts in turning schools in difficulty around and created our CPD programme to support the development of leadership and continual professional development both locally and nationally. There was a very strong track record of school improvement led by high performing leaders who shared a common vision. Developing a Multi-Academy Trust with like-minded schools and their leaders meant that our vision could circulate further, ensure the impact of our work reached out to more children and more staff benefited from high-quality development and learning from each other. Since 2016 we have achieved great success. We can quantify our success in Ofsted reports, performance data, financial spreadsheets and our recruitment and retention figures. However, most importantly to note is that we can only achieve such success because of our culture and ethos. It is our more qualitative success that makes IFtL truly unique. We are a strong family, with different personalities and differing abilities but we have the golden thread that pulls us together - a belief that we are stronger together; that we will go that extra mile for each other and support each other when things aren’t going the way we want them to.
