Hi, my name is Lian. I live in Winchburgh with my fiancé, Stuart, and my two little girls, Maddie and Connie, and I run classes in the Edinburgh North West areas. I am originally from Manchester and before moving to Edinburgh travelled the world working on a cruise ship. After meeting Stuart, we decided to put down some roots in Scotland and start a family. I attended lots of baby classes with Maddie, she spent most of the time sleeping but for me it was invaluable - being able to chat to other mums going through the same things at the same time. Also, being new to area meant I was able to meet, what have become, lifelong friends. In June 2020 I had my second daughter, Connie, in the middle of a global pandemic. My maternity experience was very different. Not having the opportunity to go to classes and share experiences with other Mums made me realise even more how important these baby groups are, not just for my baby but also for me. So this got me thinking about my future and where my passion was, then I discovered Tots Play and knew I had found exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to offer the same opportunity for new mums and the experiences I had to Edinburgh North West. I immediately jumped at the chance to bring this fantastic programme to families in the area. My aim is to offer you and your baby a relaxed and friendly environment, where you can spend special time with your little one playing, laughing, learning and bonding together. Back in early 2013, on the coast in North Devon the idea for Moo Music was born. Musician and entrepreneur Ant Parker, and his wife Jess with their two very young girls, were getting tired of the usual nursery rhymes going round and round in their heads. Both had a passion for music and a wish to teach their children about everything that comes with daily life and beyond; eating healthily, making friends, feelings, the wider world, keeping fit … and all most importantly through MUSIC, FUN and PLAY! At the same time Ant’s sister Ali, who loves to sing and has worked as a nanny, was looking for a flexible and affordable business that allowed her more time with her own small family. She asked Ant to have a look at a few other music franchises (with his entrepreneur hat on) but he soon realised that you got very little original content, were bound by many rules, and paid an extortionate amount for the privilege. This got Ant thinking – one of his best friends is a songwriter who has a very special ability in writing fantastic children’s songs that adults can enjoy too. Another friend is an artist who has illustrated many TV classics such as Bod and Pigeon Street. So Ant thought “why not commission the songwriter to write some songs, the artist to design some characters, Ali to use the combination to start her own business and then once established, licence the material to others. The rest, as they say, is history! Ali started trialling the sessions towards the end of 2013 and we launched as a licensed business opportunity in April 2014. In the first year there were just short of 100 licensees covering much of the UK. Over the next few years the remaining viable areas of the UK were covered, existing licensees expanded into larger areas and we now have 176 licensees covering 1433 postcode districts across the majority of the UK. The master licence for Australia sold in 2016, The Republic of Ireland in 2019, Korea in 2020 and the United States in 2021.

The London Suzuki Group ( LSG ) was founded in 1972 and was the first group in the United Kingdom to teach music by the Suzuki Method. With 60 qualified teachers and over 600 children currently receiving tuition, the LSG runs individual and group classes, orchestral and chamber music courses, workshops and an annual residential summer course at Bryanston School in Dorset. The group offers instruction in violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, recorder and voice. Public and private concerts are regularly organised at venues throughout London and elsewhere, providing much more than the opportunity to learn an instrument. Children and parents form lasting friendships. Parents and teachers are able to share experience and ideas. Music, and the love of music, becomes a natural part of the life of the whole family. Talent is not a prerequisite The Suzuki approach stimulates and develops musical abilities inherent in all children. I was first introduced to dowsing while completing my Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at GEC Machines in Rugby, Warwickshire. One of the placements was within the Electrical Maintenance Department where my supervisor was kind enough to spend some time showing me how to rod dowse. He gave me a set he had made himself. Very soon after this my sister taught me how to dowse with a pendulum and work with food supplements and the Schuessler Tissue Salts. She also helped me to improve my diet and cookery skills. We both used cheerful glass beads and brightly colored yarn for our pendulums. Soon after my first child was born I realized that he was following a similar pattern of health to me and within a few months I was given the contact telephone number for Mrs H. Lucie Bidie by a good friend David Kerruish who still has a Wholefood Shop in Rugby. Lucie Bidie put me in touch with one of her students from her who treated our little family. I was quickly asking for more information and wanted to extend my dowsing skills beyond working with the vitamin and mineral supplements. I began training with Lucie Bidie in 1987 and continued to work with her until shortly before her death in 2002. Lucie and her husband Stewart were both instrumental in the founding of the Radionic Association, both financially and on committee. They were trained by the De La Warrs and had Radionic analysis and treatment instruments made by the De La Warr Laboratories. Lucie taught students via the School of Radionics but as her findings and techniques changed from the school's protocols this became more and more tricky. Around 2000 I was blessed with meeting 2 people who stretched my concepts of the analysis and treatment of clients. I realized I had become quite rigid in my thinking. They were Barbara Garratt and Chris Bacon. Conversations are divergent and energizing. I have been distance healing for over 25 years which is very rewarding. I also get so much satisfaction from guiding people to be dowsing at their highest level, while achieving confidence in their accuracy and results.

V.I.P.A is not a static system as is Karate, Kung Fu or Judo for example. By static I mean something that has not changed over a period of time, something that has not kept up with modern threats and combat found in today's modern world. If the Instructor is not teaching a street application then they are teaching a 'Do' a 'Way' to reach inner harmony, a way to overcome yourself and become a better person, a form of meditation. This in itself is a noble endeavour and for those looking for that path then these martial arts a fantastic path to tread. As a combat system V.I.P.A is also a 'Way' but it is a way for warriors not martial artists, it is also not the only 'Way' it is only one path with ideas, philosophies, treaties, strategies, tactics and techniques gained over 40 years of combatives study. Having said that, it is a highly effective method of combat. V.I.P.A embraces change, evolvement and open mindedness. From its conception in 1988 V.I.P.A has evolved and continues to evolve as threats and evironments change. From the streets of Northern Ireland to training for possible combat against Russian Spetsnaz Special Forces to the 1991 Gulf War and beyond, V.I.P.A has adapted to its environment and continues to do so with civilian, police and close protection applications. V.I.P.A is in reality a sphere of influence and at its centre are the Core Concepts, the vital skills that are required of any means of combat. There is nothing new in the skills of the Core Concepts, many people practice them as part of a whole system of combat or as part of their own cross training program. The Core Concepts are only a means to an end. The means are the strategies, tactics and techniques themselves. The end, well that has many forms, is it to win in your next street encounter, not to get into any encounters at all, to protect your family, safely detain a suspect or win and live on the battlefield and in harmony after the battle is over. The only real end result is what you as an individual are training for.
