We are learning from coach ALEX SOURIMTO who is one of the best fencing coaches in the USA. He is a very professional, kind, and strict coach; he can quickly pinpoint the fencer’s weakness and teach the corresponding technics/strategies. His stripe coach is also far beyond your expectations and helps to build the kids’ mindsets for long-term sportsmanship. After a period of time, the kids are delighted and eager to learn; the coach and the club will be part of your family. It is highly recommended! – Star. G Manhattan Fencing Center is my happy place in the City! I started private classes with coach Vlad as my first contact with fencing. He is incredible. He has so much patience to explain me and provide me the tools to develop my skills while I enjoy myself. He always has a good sense of humor and a sensitive approach to teach me the discipline I need to learn to advance. I am a busy mom who fences for recreation purposes, and I have the privilege to have coach Vlad, MFC’s great location/ very clean environment, and kind staff. It is my opportunity to offer my 4 years old son the motivation to start fencing soon, also with coach Vlad. – Juliana My daughters work with Coach Sergey Isayenko, who has all the qualities of a great coach. He is encouraging, patient, and has a constructive approach that is rare to find. More than that, Sergey incorporates skills that not only apply to fencing but life as well. He teaches good sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and always finds the best in his students. My sons work with Coach Alex Sourimto and there are only positives to say about him. He is supportive, goal-oriented, and more importantly, has a lot of respect for his students. Both coaches have built great relationships and communicate well with my kids. Overall, MFC has been a great experience and we can’t be more appreciative to this club and it’s amazing coaches.

The inspiring courage of the Dominican Sisters of St Rose Convent in Stroud, led them to found St Rose’s in 1912. Their foundations established the ethos for St Rose’s and St Martin’s today: the happy, family-atmosphere where children and students are challenged to develop and achieve their potential. Set in beautiful grounds within walking distance to the centre of Stroud we offer a nurturing and social environment for students to develop their independence. We provide education, therapy and day and residential care for children and students aged 2 to 25, with a wide range of disabilities, including Autism. In our nursery we have mainstream children, as well as children with disabilities. Many of our students have physical disabilities, as well as sensory, learning and communication difficulties; some also have complex health needs. Parents and carers trust us implicitly. Our very individual and flexible approach means we can easily adapt the programme for each student. As their needs and aspirations change and they develop, we offer new opportunities to support their personal growth and independence. Our integrated team of dedicated and specialist staff makes this possible. As well as specialist teaching staff, we have our own therapeutic staff on site, offering a range of therapies, including physio, speech and language, occupational, aquatic, massage and music. We have our own hydrotherapy pool. We also offer specialist medical support, 24 hours a day. Our staff are truly exceptional, and the trust we build with families is very strong. We host studio capacity up to 16 – this is a personal choice by each teacher, some prefer 12/14. What is our USP? When you come to Patrick Brompton Hall, either to a class, workshop, or on a residential retreat, you are welcomed into a family home that embraces wellbeing and creative activities in a beautiful space. The main part of the house was built in 1703 in the period of Queen Anne and is a Grade II listed Historic House. S B Business Services is all about providing advice and solutions to ensure possible or potential issues and bottlenecks are quickly identified My career began as a Personal Assistant for a group of Accountants and Auditors. I studied Sales and Marketing whilst working as a Care Worker in the Community, seeing the other side of life which most of us either avoid or deny. Later, I started a family. As my children were growing up, I decided to establish my consultancy business, consulting for a local independent newspaper, a local pallet company as well as, Admiral Commercial Cleaning, a valued client to this day. In addition, I branched out into Health and Safety Management then Management in Construction and qualified as a trainer, assessor and IQA. I continued consulting part-time for small businesses and worked in the local community piloting community projects, in mentoring. Following a successful pilot project for the Local Authority, I was “head-hunted” by the HMPS to create a mentoring scheme for “Lifer prisoners.” This project was a success, reducing re-offending in young adults by 40% across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Due to the prison closure in March 2013, the project continues in-house today. In 2015 I was awarded "Outstanding for contribution to the Business” achieving a growth of 1mm in 12 months, Leading the training provision for government contracts (SFA and ESF) with Department of Work & Pensions - Southeast, Hampshire, Isle of Wight. I continued the journey of life-long learning and completed studies in Teaching, Assessing and Internal Quality Assurance, consulting for local colleges South Downs & Havant College, Basingstoke, and Fareham. I serve on the IAP (Independent Advice Panel) for the DSPG (Defence College of Logistics, Policing and Administration). Volunteering as a committee member of the Southwick D-Day Revival - a pioneering, independent community group who focus on raising money for SSAFA.

The name ‘The Orry Mill’ refers to the open space in Eaglesham known as ‘The Orry’ (Old Scots for 'area') in which there are the remains of a cotton mill. The mill and the village were designed by Lord Alexander Eglinton, but built by his brother Archibald. The Eglinton family were responsible for a series of cotton mills and key agricultural developments throughout the late 18th and early 19th Century. The area of Busby, Eaglesham, Clarkston and Newton Mearns as small villages all had water powered cotton mills, and this drove the development of these villages, the buildings, geography and layout as we see it now. The Orry Mill was started simply to be a lovely wee shop that sought to share our love of crafting and colour with the local community. The shop was to be more than a retail outlet, a place to visit and spend time in, to leave having learnt something new, or to have found something that inspired you just a little bit. We wanted to have a shop that was full of colour, where you would be surrounded by quality vibrant yarn, yet also be a calming, inspiring and tactile place where we curate a range of lovely things for people to craft with, and to provide support and advice to create something at a pace that suits you. The wider benefits of crafting are a given to all those that are already passionate about it, and there is real-world evidence that taking time to craft and develop your practice, is beneficial to your health. It creates ‘head-space’ to reflect, focus and quiet the busy mind in our unsettled times. After leaving the UK in 2010 and embarking on a backpacking trip to Indonesia alone spending 12 days in the forest with three local guides. Wanda, Bendy and Ping yes that was their names travelling through the forest and camping at a new spot each night. Which added some life-changing experiences for me a nieve 17-18-year-old alone in a foreign country with me not knowing any part of the local language. When I got back to the UK I decided on this as a hopeful career path which I am still working toward now. I decided I wanted to work in the travel industry, where my passion in life truly lies. So I came back to the UK after that trip and immediately planned for other journeys. Still living with family I decided to explore a bit of Latin America which I really enjoyed the culture the idea of working out here was overwhelming. So in 2011, I went to Costa Rica. But where the trips truly took an expedition type feel was when planning from start to finish around 8 months prior to going away. I planned and prepared for a journey to the Darien gap Panama-Colombia border region. Which went as best as could in this region. I then began planning my return to head to Guyana where we canoed a river we, meaning myself 2 local guides travelled for 11.5 days and travelled 288km to be exact. I knew that my dream job would now be to work as an expedition leader where I could live out my passion for leading in remote and exciting places. I now had an abundance of remote travel experience and the required knowledge and soon the qualifications that it takes to do this. But I was still without the valuable experience required to teach and lead people in remote places. I have now done my ML training so that I would soon have the qualification to make this a career choice of mine.
