Fleet

I began my own Yoga journey in 2002, having suffered from excruciating cluster headaches for some months I decided to see if Yoga could help. Not only did it cure my headaches it also began to take away the aches and pains I had for years in my knees. Although I “found” yoga looking for help for physical ailments, I quickly came to realise the huge benefits to my emotional and mental well being too. Having attended classes with Sam Rao for 16 years, through 2 pregnancies, work challenges, losing family and a close friend I found that Yoga really was the one thing I could turn to for help physically and mentally. In 2018 I took the leap to begin the next part of my Yoga journey and began my training with Sam Rao Yoga School. I began teaching in January 2019. Since graduating I have attended numerous courses and workshops including Teen Yoga, "The Alchemy of Touch", Introduction to teaching pregnancy Yoga, principles of Yin and Restorative Yoga and Thai Massage, and Philosophy in Movement to extend my learning and be able to offer more classes to my yogis. My personal practice remains incredibly important to me. As well as practice at home I attend a regular weekly class, as well as visiting other teachers and attending day and weekend retreats. These are amazing opportunities to self nurture and also improve my own teaching. My wish is to share Yoga with my local community and encourage you to attend a class where you listen to your body, not just my guidance, finding a Yoga practice you can share in class and also take away into your every day life. Recognising that Yoga isn't just about moving but about breath, stillness, connection, how we live our lives, kindness, compassion and nurturing. Join me to discover what a Yoga practice can do for you.

Eastbourne

The Chamberlain School of English is a small English family business that has been offering language trips for students (13-17 years old) to Eastbourne on the south coast of England during the school holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia (Easter/Summer) since 1984. During a language trip with us, the students can learn English at the same time as spending a wonderful holiday: specific English lessons in the morning, a varied leisure and entertainment program in the afternoon and evening, trips to London and Brighton and accommodation with English families - extensive language holidays at a fixed all-inclusive price. Thanks to our many years of experience, we know what makes a successful language trip for students. During each language trip there is always only one group. Since we have a limited number of students for each course, we get to know the children within a very short time and the students also quickly make new friends. Our very carefully selected host families for the language trip mostly live near the school or can be reached quickly by bus. The families are nice, open-minded and take good care of our students. We have a great English team of supervisors who are involved in all language travel activities and excursions. This also gives the students plenty of opportunity to use and improve their English in their free time. The teachers are experienced and adapt their lessons to the needs of the students. The small classes make it possible to support the students individually and to respond to the language difficulties of each individual. Our school building , Gildredge Manor , is a beautiful old manor house ideally situated in a lovely park setting close to the town centre. Not only the lessons take place here. We also host our entertainment afternoons and evenings here. Gildredge Manor isn't just home for our language study trips - we live here too, so our door is always open to our students.

Glasgow

It has always been all about dogs. My journey started in a local pet rescue centre where in seven years I have probably seen everything: various pet illnesses, serious behavioural issues, rehabilitation and success cases, you name it - I bet I have a story or two about it. Let me tell you a secret, though: once you become a volunteer, it does not take long until you rescue your first dog. I was not an exception and soon enough Beta joined our crazy family. Now, this is the point in the story where I immersed myself into dog training - my dog was far from perfect. It makes me smile now to remember all the chewed leashes, carpets, mom's shoes (it honestly seemed like Beta just enjoyed the expensive ones best). Oh, do not forget leash reactivity, barking at the house and doors shredded to pieces (I'm still convinced she was aiming for a Louvre worth art piece)! A number of dog psychology and training seminars, workshops, classes and courses were where you would have found me during my free time. At the same time, I started my professional dog show handling career and traveled around Europe showing dogs I trained. It was a no brainer what I want to do when I came to Scotland and so Sky Walks Glasgow was born. Two years later I finished my first diploma with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and kept helping people to become the coolest puppy parents! Dog and girl sitting in the nature What once started as a hobby has grown into this big team of four-legged stars and their humans that just could not fit under the old name anymore. So we grew. It's my pack and we are Sky Walkers! I was never about simply giving you instructions on what to do. If we work together, get your thinking hat ready because we are about to look at the world through your dog's eyes!

Bradford

The school was established in 1981 in Bradford, our ethos is fun, fairness, consideration, respect, equality and discipline. We believe dance should be available to all regardless of environment, background, ethnicity or ability. Our fees are set so dance and performance is within everybody’s reach with easy monthly payments. With discounts applied, depending on the number of classes taken per student. We welcome all students who feel they can maintain our ethos, as we benefit from a family based environment. Although we strive to keep our ethos alive, we do still run classes with a disciplined element to ensure all students achieve their highest ability. Classes are run evenings, with occasional extra exam classes and /or rehearsals on weekends. With a variety of lessons in dance and performing arts. We hold a main production every two years at one of Bradford’s main theatres and we endeavour to hold an annual parents viewing class and presentation, usually around July, enabling parents to follow their children’s progress. Examinations are taken through the B A T D, as and when the students are ready. We follow the B A T D syllabus and have had numerous successes with children being put forward for scholarships each year, and who successfully audition and enrol into full time ballet schools and performing arts academies. We are also members of the CDMT who are the government body who regulate the dance/performance world. All students have a trial period of one month to enable us to place the student within the correct class, after this initial period, uniform is then required which we provide in a uniform pack at a discounted rate from the school, to ensure all students have the correct regulation wear. Although we are not a competitive school, the students are occasionally entered into competitions in and around the Yorkshire area, but this is not our priority. We are members of the BATD, the British Association for Teacher of Dancing, and the CDMT, the Council for Dance & Musical Theatre.

Leominster

Alan Ramsden started flying at Shobdon Airfield in 1977 – initially on aeroplanes with a view to becoming a fixed wing instructor. However, after a 5 minute pleasure flight in a B206 JetRanger, where he first experienced the thrill and excitement of helicopter flight, Alan was hooked. He went on to sell his house, his car and his share in the family business in order to raise the funds to become a commercial helicopter pilot and instructor! He founded Tiger Helicopters in 1992 and, together with the Tiger Team, has helped develop both the Helicopter school and Shobdon Airfield. Achievements One of the team's proudest achievements came in 2005 when we acquired our first overseas contract. This was to train the next generation of Police Helicopter Pilots for Kuwait. With a 100% success rate, a further contract to train Police Helicopter Pilots for Algeria was awarded to Tiger. This contract of over 10,000 flying hours, was completed in 2012 without a single accident or incident. We are extremely proud of this and it is a huge credit to all of the Tiger Team. Future Ambition The UK School is growing as the UK’s economy recovers from a difficult recession. We remain firmly committed to our UK school and it is great to see an upturn in students coming through our doors, ready for the excitement and challenge of helicopter flight! Many of our students travel great distances to train with us, which is very humbling. Hopefully it’s because of our world class facilities and excellent instruction. We now offer Helicopter Pilot training to individuals, large companies and Governments. We take individuals from never having flown before, all the way up, to being Commercial Pilots and Flight Instructors. The global demand for helicopter pilots is increasing rapidly. Tiger’s ambition is to keep re-investing in the business to help meet this growing need. Currently our capacity is 60 overseas students as well as a thriving UK school. As for the future? The Sky’s No Limit…!
