ABOUT US Wuntanara – meaning ‘we are together’ in the Soussou language from Guinea Conakry – is a collective of outstanding artists from West Africa and dedicated African drumming and dance students from across Europe. Master Drummer Souleymane Compo is the Founder and Artistic Director Wuntanara, and CEO of Wuntanara Ltd. Souleymane was born into the proud musical tradition in Guinea. As a young man he travelled to The Gambia, where he continued his training in the traditional arts with Guinean masters, in the famous Fatala Drum and Dance School. He soon began teaching African drumming and dance to students from all over the world. An accomplished dancer, he also became choreographer and lead dancer for the Fatala Ballet troupe. Souleymane moved from Africa to London in 2004. Since then he has been teaching and performing in schools, weekly classes, festivals and private events across the UK. He combines warmth and patience with great musical knowledge and skill. He is an inspiring teacher, as well as an accomplished performer. Wuntanara's lead dancer is Salif Camara Salif belongs to a family of Guinean artists, and began dancing at a young age. An exhilarating dancer, Salif has performed in some of the most acclaimed Guinean ballet troupes and teaches Guinean dance to student across Europe as well as in Guinea. Our babyballet preschool dance programme offers four stages of ballet classes, for young children aged 6 months to 6 years. Taught by thousands of dance teachers across the world, the babyballet syllabus has been carefully developed by dance professionals to introduce your child to the magic of dance, whilst creating precious moments between you and your little star. At babyballet Romford, Chelmsford, Brentwood and Billericay, we strive to create a fun, friendly and inclusive experience for everyone – no matter what your child’s age or ability. Not to mention, our classes are a great way for parents, carers and guardians to meet up and make new friends too! For babies, tots, toddlers, pre-schoolers and school starters alike, babyballet classes at our venues in Romford, Chelmsford, Brentwood and Billericay run 7 days a week. So if you live in Romford, Brentwood, Billericay, Chelmsford or surrounding areas (Dagenham, Harold Hill, Harold Wood, Gidea Park, Hornchurch, Upminster, Collier Row, Hutton, Shenfield, Ramsden Heath, Noak Hill, Stock, Springfield, Great Baddow, Galleywood, Broomfield etc), please take a look at our timetable – which is quick and easy to use when booking your three-week trial at babyballet. Our preschool dance syllabus has been carefully designed to ensure each child is taught the principles of ballet and tap at the right developmental level while boosting confidence, and of course having lots of fun. Our programme fits well within the UK Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with our classes providing the opportunity for babies and young children to learn and develop key life skills in a healthy and safe environment. When signing your child up for a three-week trial, you will need to ensure they are within the age parameters outlined for each stage. If in doubt, please start in the lower age group to begin with as your teacher will liaise with you should your child need to move up a stage. After registering, you will be sent an enrolment email full of information that will let you know what to expect. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive this email and double check your junk or spam folder! Following the introductory trial, you will receive an email containing all the details you need to continue with our classes and become a babyballet member. Along with term dates and information about how to make future payments to secure your place, you will be sent an invoice for the remaining weeks in the current term plus your one off babyballet membership fee.
