Roxcool - Day Classes

roxcool - day classes

ROXCOOL is a professional instructional business based in and around the North East of England but we are often found working in North Yorkshire, The Peak District, Scotland and our favourite place in the whole world The Lake District. We specialise in climbing and mountaineering courses but also offer opportunities for adventures through guided and fun activities using our team of professionals. We were established in January 2009 and since then the company has not only survived but has prospered. We are very proud of the fact that we are the only Mountain Training course provider in the North East of England, offering all of their climbing instructor and walking leadership courses. We pride ourselves on giving satisfaction and so far all our feedback on both Facebook and TripAdvisor has been 5 * and positive. We also offer technical self-improvement courses relating to safe systems used in climbing and mountaineering situations. So whether its learning to set up simple belay systems or the rudiments of navigation we have a course for you. Our guiding service is very popular for those with specific goals in mind, so you can enjoy and access some of the classic walks, climbs and scrambles of The Lake District and other mountainous areas of the UK or just have a grand day out. Our work with both local and national charities has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and makes up a high proportion of our annual delivery. We specialise in tailor made events and have become somewhat experts in abseiling from unusual buildings (just click on our ‘Charity Events’ tab above). Our charity walks are a great way to encourage lots of participants and a great way to raise money for a chosen charity close to your heart. Finally, we wanted to tell you about our Spanish Adventures and retreats based in Southern Spain. These adventures definitely fit with our company strap line 'for adventures of a lifetime'. Although we have had a connection and a place set aside in our heart with a little village called Murtas for over fifteen years, we have only recently, started to offer adventures there. These adventures are as far removed from life on the costa's as they could be and so far everyone who has visited has fallen in love with the areas we have taken them to. So if you are after some guaranteed sun, warm hospitality, a new cultural experience and possibly a little vino away from the tourists, we think we have the perfect experience for you. If you are involved or want to be involved in any hill walking, mountaineering, climbing or adventure based activity we hope we have a course for you, but just in case we have missed something please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a ‘tailor made’ programme that meets your needs.

The Daisy Foundation Edinburgh

Edinburgh

Hi, I’m Kathryn and I run antenatal courses and workshops along with baby and postnatal classes in Edinburgh. I teach weekly pregnancy classes and birth and baby workshops, which focus on combining antenatal education with birth hypnosis and breathing techniques, movement for pregnancy wellbeing and active birth and are a great time of the week to focus on you, your pregnancy and your baby. Weekly classes are a great way to help you enjoy a positive pregnancy and meet up with others local to you and at a similar stage in pregnancy as you prepare for your confident birth. I also teach Tinies and Wrigglers daisy baby classes which as well as offering baby massage, yoga and sensory play are all about coming together with other new parents to meet, chat and learn – navigating the journey into parenthood together. What I particularly love is seeing expectant parents meet at antenatal classes and continue with daisy baby classes until 10 to 12 months postpartum offering a real connection and community and seeing friendships grow. My classes are with you every step of the way, as are the community of daisy parents around you connected in class and online to always be there to support you. For everyone that is looking for evidence based information, delivered live and interactive (both online and in person) in a non judgemental space with other like minded new and expectant parents you are in the right place! As a local Mum of two I know just how much of a huge transition it can be becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting parental wellbeing and passionately believe in the value of peer support. We’ve all heard the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and daisy is all about building your village! I trained with The Daisy Foundation in 2013 and have been teaching for daisy classes for over 7 years working with hundreds of parents and families from throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. I am also a voluntary peer facilitator and lead Positive Birth Edinburgh, as well as being a trained Slingababy Baby Wearing Peer Supporter and a proud member of Edinburgh Birth and Baby. Details of all my upcoming classes can be found here and please do follow me on facebook and instagram where you can find out more about what’s going on, all the latest news and how to connect with our amazing community of parents. If you are thinking about joining a daisy class, course or workshop you should find all you need in the my classes page and I’m really happy to chat if you would like to find out more, have any questions or want to check any upcoming dates – just message me and I will be happy to help. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on this exciting journey, whatever stage you are at.

E Clinic

e clinic

London

Every year as we approach the year end, I like to take stock of where we are and write a letter to clients. This is in part to thank you for your much valued business, but also to tell you how things are going here at e-clinic and let you know a little of what we have planned for the coming year. I hope you’ve all had a good 2015 and are looking forward to taking some time out over the festive period. The feedback we’re getting from clients is that the market in most sectors has improved this year and that whilst there is some way to go, things are certainly easier than they have been in the last few years. 2015 has been a good year for e-clinic, with healthy increases in both revenue and profit. Indeed, it’s fair to say that our company is in the strongest position it has ever been. I tell you this as hopefully it gives you reassurance that, having been around for a long time already, we intend to be around for a very long time to come, and that can only happen if our business is stable and profitable. Most of the increased revenue has, of course, gone back into improving the business, rather than into my guitar collection! Our team has almost doubled in size over the last year, which has enabled me to focus much more on development than in previous years. It has also enabled us to reduce support response times significantly. Our performance is independently monitored by ZenDesk and currently we sit in the world’s top 4% of software companies who use ZenDesk in terms of support team performance. I think this is something we can be very proud of and I know many of you have taken the time to comment on the quality of service you receive from Robin and his team. They have worked very hard this year and I am, as always, very much indebted to them. The development team has continued to work away behind the scenes on ideas for the next version of e-clinic. We recently completed the work on Healthcode integration for insurance invoicing, along with a full integration with Xero Accounts. Currently Dillip is looking at ways to better implement email marketing from within e-clinic, including the reporting of outcomes such as emails opened and clicked through directly within the patient record. Hannah is doing some very exciting stuff with web and Facebook and Joe is beavering away on some interface improvements to bring us more in line with current trends and to improve our mobile options. The growing sales and marketing team also continues to improve client communications and we have a number of plans in this regard for next year, particularly in terms of improving our web site for mobile users. I’ll be spending a little more time than usual at home with my family (and my guitars) over Christmas, but for those of you who have to work over the holidays, we will be providing support during business hours as we always do (more details lower down). I’d like to finish by thanking you all for your business over the past year. I hope you all have a wonderful time over Christmas and the New Year and return refreshed and excited for what will hopefully be an excellent year for us all in 2016.

Best Dog Learning And Stuff

best dog learning and stuff

Denny

I bet you’ve landed here because your dog's prey drive is driving you mad. You’ve probably asked everybody you know plus the gurus of Facebook – that’s what I did with my first high prey drive dog – and are no closer to answers than you were at the start. Do you know what? It doesn’t have to be hard. All you need is a bit of know how and I can give that to you no problem. I love high prey drive dogs. Prey drive is part of the template for a dog - AND our domestic dogs have been selectively bred to enhance some parts of it. I am on a mission to help you understand your dog's prey drive - and learn to see how you can work with it to make both of your lives better. A brindle bullmastiff wearing an orange harness trotting toward the camera. I didn't always feel the way I do now. In fact, I chose the breed of my first dog in large part because they are meant to have a low prey drive. It wasn't something I wanted to deal with. I avoided hounds, terriers, herding breeds, gundog breeds - and instead got myself a Bullmastiff. Do you know what? It didn't work. He would chase deer for long distances and he would kill and eat rabbits. And then he became aggressive toward other dogs. I started learning. I became a Tellington TTouch Practitioner and I spent 5 years at Bishop Burton College doing a BSc (hons) in Canine Behaviour and Training. My dog was transformed. No more chasing wildlife and no more being aggressive toward other dogs. So . . . A blonde collie cross dog stands in deep snow, looking at the camera. enter Cuillin. I was done with behaviour problems and wanted a dog who was going to be better at heelwork to music than my Bullmastiffs. Cuillin was a Collie cross and I had big plans for us. Until he reached a year or so old and started hunting. And then disappearing for hours at a time. There were lots of tears from me when that started happening. So I started learning again. I worked at it until I understood how to work with Cuillin so that he could do what he loved and I wasn't left waiting around for hours. I was hooked. A black and tan Cocker Spaniel sits in a wild spot surrounded by cotton grass. I went back to Bishop Burton to study again. This time for an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training. I was lucky that during first year of the course, Serendipity the cocker spaniel came into my life. I spent my time studying and carrying out research into prey drive in dogs while also practicing every single day with my glorious young high prey drive dog. I passed my MSc with distinction and a fire to share my wealth of knowledge about reward-based, effective and kind training for high prey drive dogs. Ethics in dog training are a key part of my business. Many years ago - long before I ever had dogs - I spent 4 years at Glasgow University getting an honours degree in Philosophy. That time helped me to see that ethics are so important.
