The Develop Us team is passionate about developing the skills of individuals within Wales. We believe in equality and aim to provide equal opportunities through supporting individuals with additional learning needs and complex behaviours by offering assessment, tuition and support in various settings. We offer a range of services including: Educational Courses Courses for family members aimed at raising their awareness of additional learning needs and developing appropriate skills to be able to support their relative with additional learning needs; Courses for practitioners working with service users, such as health and social care sector practitioners. This will develop their understanding of additional learning needs as part of their job role; Training will be provided to any organisation and support group that is willing to offer an inclusive environment for people with additional learning needs. HomeAbout What happens when you pit a lifelong procrastinator against the biggest test of his life? Trouble. I’m Miles, a recent graduate from the MOT program at the University of Utah. Being a podcast junkie myself, when I was studying for the NBCOT exam I wished there had been a podcast to help me make some progress when I was driving, at the gym, or just not feeling like banging my head against a computer screen. My goal with the podcast is to make the journey I had to take a little easier for other aspiring occupational therapists. Person I’m a huge nerd with a passion for basketball, sushi and OT. I’m always on the hunt for a good Netflix recommendations. My path to OT was a little strange. I worked in tech support during my undergrad and graduated in advertising, but not before taking the pre-reqs for OT school. I love the combination of creativity and purpose in our profession and consider myself lucky to have stumbled across it before I joined the ranks of [insert PT joke here]. Environment I was born and raised in Minnesota, lived in Japan for two years and am currently looking forward to having an actual income for Utah’s next ski season. Occupation I’m currently working at an inpatient acute rehab hospital and loving it. __________________ . __________________ That’s the gist of it. Infrared Thermography is the technique that uses an infrared imaging and measurement camera to “see” and “measure” invisible infrared energy being emitted from an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is energy is not visible because its wavelength is too long for the sensors in our eyes to detect at temperatures below 525 degree Celsius. It is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared spectrum everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits infrared electromagnetic energy. Even cold objects such as ice cubes emit infrared radiation. The higher the temperature of the object, the greater the infrared radiation emitted. The Infrared camera converts the radiation into an electrical output to form a two dimensional image and allows us to see levels of energy that our eyes cannot discern! In the industrial/commercial environment, almost everything gets hotter or cooler before it fails, making infrared cameras extremely valuable diagnostic tools with many diverse applications. As industry strives to improve manufacturing efficiencies, manage energy, improve product quality, and enhance worker safety, new applications for infrared cameras continually emerge. Energy loss, especially form structure, has been highlighted in the latest building codes and faulty refractory or insulation in industry adds to the outlay for energy, increasing consumption and raising the cost of products. There is no better inspection techniques that Infrared Thermography to find these thermal anomalies. Thermography is used in so many industries for such a variety of application, it is no wonder that most companies have looked into using this technology in some form. Here at Moor Park we have one firm belief: that education transforms lives. This year, we are proud to be able to report that our year 12 cohort is the biggest the sixth form has ever had, and we are almost at capacity for student numbers. This means sixth form is a vibrant community and our year 12 cohort have made an excellent start to the year, stepping up to the rigour of A Level study with ease. As you may know, our sixth form is unique in the central Preston area as we offer the option for both A Level and BTEC courses in a small, safe environment with a maximum class size of 10 students. This means that our expert staff are able to get to know students well, provide them with 1-1 support and ensure they are both challenged and supported academically, so all students make excellent progress. Our smaller size also allows us to ensure that students maintain social distancing, whilst providing a full face-to-face teaching timetable. This means that students have access to specialist teachers full time and online learning is only used for homework or independent learning. Air Rifle shooting in the heart of West LondonWelcome to West London Rangers Air Rifle Club website. We are an air rifle and air pistol club for those over 18 years of age only, who wish to shoot non-FAC air guns. We shoot ‘knock-down’ metal targets in the Hunter Field Target (HFT) discipline and meet on alternate Sundays throughout the year, plus some extra dates in the summer. The club has a dedicated pistol range, three rifle practice ranges and a nice wooded area for HFT competitions and practice days. We also love to indulge our passion for vintage rifles and pistols (both modern and vintage) with many members bringing their kit down and reminding us all how these shooting sports first came to life. Sometimes its just for fun and sometimes we get a bit more competitive but it is certainly an enjoyable and growing element of the club. We offer a limited number of supervised sessions for “newbies” or “semi-experienced” shooters and can hire our Air Arms S400 (PCP) or the Gamo GX40 (PCP) or the Weihrauch HW97K (Springer) rifle for a very reasonable £10 per day for those without guns who wish to try their hand before taking a host of advice as to which kit to buy! Our goal is to provide a safe environment to promote the sport of air rifle and air pistol shooting. New members, both experienced or new to the sport, are welcome.
