Aspire Gymnastics Academy has been proudly operating within the London Borough of Havering since April 2006. Aspire aim to provide a safe, effective and child-friendly environment in which the members can participate in Gymnastic activities under the guidance of appropriately qualified coaches. We operate an open philosophy and welcome the support of parents and guardians. Wherever possible we will enable you to observe training sessions provided that it does not contravene our Health and Safety regulations. We also encourage and value parental involvement in the club. The members of the club are organised into groups according to their age, gender, ability, experience and individual needs, and coaches will be pleased to discuss the training programmes and your child’s needs with you. We provide a child/member centred, coach led programme and will endeavour to help your child develop to their optimum level of performance. Our coaches are all British Gymnastics qualified coaches at the appropriate level and have been screened for their suitability to work with children. A Welfare Officer is appointed by the club to deal with any safety issues. The club has adopted the British Gymnastics policies for Child Protection, Equity and Codes of Conduct and all officials, coaches, members and parents must adhere to these policies. Aspire has also received the “Gym Mark” accreditation which recognises our club as achieving an excellent standard against strict criteria.

Through an official crowdfunding campaign, we are trying to raise £10,000 so we can install solar panels. This will reduce our carbon footprint and fuel costs – so we can focus on training lifeguards and beach safety. Did you know our volunteers provided 500+ hours of beach and water safety cover in 2022,Crowdfunding this project builds wider community support for the club and provides us the opportunity to access further match funds to the project. We have been in discussion with Cornwall Council who are looking to support this project as part of their work supporting communities to reach net zero by 2030, and installing renewable energy in the county. In the long term, all these measures will help reduce our energy costs and improve the operation of the clubhouse, meaning we can focus more of our efforts on future activities for the community – supporting health and wellbeing, developing life saving skills, and awareness of the beach coastal environment.

We aim to help people from those who suffer with PTSD to those who are lonely, mental health is very important and we feel that we can help with our horticultural therapy and a calm environment to help relax the mind and offer a sense of achievement in horticulture from growing a plant to building a garden. For those who feel horticulture is too physically demanding we also offer a floristry service for a more gentle therapy.

We are a community interest company called Choose Nature CIC with our site being located adjacent to the Wheal Martyn Clay Works, Carthew, mid-Cornwall.  We aim to broaden the accessibility and inclusivity of outdoor learning opportunities and therapeutic support in nature.   Mission statement: ‘Choose Nature CIC works to increase the wellbeing of individuals, communities and the environment by inspiring life long learning and care. Our calm enriching outdoor spaces are emotionally grounding and cultivate a strong relationship with nature’.  We are continuing to restore and develop the site. It has so many exciting areas including gardening spaces, wooded areas, wildlife ponds, orchard, classroom, and poly tunnels. We currently have our weekly ‘Mamas in Nature’ group (supporting new mums and babies as transition into parenthood), ‘Making Tracks’ group (supporting young people with additional needs) and different volunteering opportunities as we establish a volunteer programme. We also host a variety of family events and workshops throughout the year. More recently we have been welcoming St Austell College students onto site to gain work experience on their construction course, as well as striving to become a Makaton Friendly Organisation. Atlantic Reach is a holiday resort and leisure club, close by to Newquay in an open countryside setting. Set in around 45 acres, the resort has 230 holiday homes, 115 serviced camping pitches and facilities for guests including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, large fully equipped gym, three fitness studio’s with a huge fitness class schedule to choose from each week, cafe / bar, the Manor Arms pub and restaurant, outdoor play areas, arcade, adventure trail, tennis courts and lots of green space. We work hard to ensure all of our visits have a great time, and welcome all feedback. As well as guests staying with us, the Resort is open to those living locally with a membership or locals card. Where possible we like to buy local, conserve energy, protect the environment and reduce our use of plastics. Please help us with this – there are recycling points dotted around the site and new ideas are welcomed. The safety and security of everyone on site is important to us. We run a comprehensive health and safety management system, and whilst we try to ensure this doesn’t get in your way or stop you having fun, we ask that everyone follows the guidance of any rules or signage that may be dotted around the site.

My name is Esther Tomlinson and I am the Director of 'Out of the Box Play and Creative Arts Therapy.' I am an experienced Play Therapist and Theraplay Practitioner living in Cornwall. I have over fifteen years of experience working in Primary and Secondary schools. Before becoming a Play Therapist I worked as a teacher until I became frustrated that I couldn’t do enough to help every child in terms of their emotional and psychological issues. As a Play Therapist, I feel that I can make a huge difference in alleviating children’s distress. Using Creative resources such as sand tray, clay, puppets, music and art, children are supported to express themselves in a safe way and through their natural medium of play. My aim as a Play Therapist in Cornwall is to provide a safe and supportive environment in order for children to flourish, become resilient and to empower and enrich the lives of children in order for them to reach their potential. I am a practicing member registered with BACP (number 381768.) EXTRAS As a Play Therapist, I work to BACP ethical standards. I am committed to continuous professional development. As a Play Therapist, I have an up to date DBS, I’m fully insured, and receive regular clinical supervision. Enable your baby to swim happily, safely and confidently from an early age. Swim Academy for Babies is a specialist baby swimming school that started in Cornwall more than 10 years ago, and is now available in Somerset. We are proud to be entirely run by mothers, providing a unique experience for families with babies and small children. We run tailored baby swimming classes for babies from newborn to 4 years old, we hope to soon be able to resume offering swimming development courses and junior squads for ages 5 to 10 years old. We create a natural, loving and fun environment where you can enjoy special time with your baby, deepening your special bond whilst learning how to help your baby enjoy the water. We teach babies water awareness and safety, allowing them to explore and discover what their bodies are capable of in a variety of structured situations. All our classes are uniquely planned taking into account the ability of each individual baby and child. The earlier babies are introduced to water the sooner they can be taught vital water safety skills as well as increasing their strength and stamina. We also include fun excercises to help mothers recover their pre-pregnancy body weight. We use internationally proven ‘in water’ and ‘underwater’ techniques to improve babies lung capacityand function as well as boosting babies self-confidence and general heath and fitness levels. Most babies also develop better eating and sleeping patterns, and many parents plan sleep times around swimming classes! Other family members are welcome to bring their baby swimming as soon as baby’s umbilical cord has healed. This may be useful during the first 6 weeks when mother cannot go in the water. Bonding, Nurturing, Caring, relaxing, fun!
