Humankind was first listed as a registered charity in 1984. We are committed to reducing deprivation and exclusion and to improving people’s wellbeing; our vision is for people of all ages to be safe, building ambitions for the future and reaching towards their full potential.  We are an established provider of LGBT+ services and have recognised/supported LGBT+ young people across the North-East for over 14 years. During this time, we have undertaken significant growth in our model and delivery areas, based on service user/partner feedback, referrals, and issue presentation. This growth has led to the development of our training offer and the appointment of a full time Lead Trainer at the beginning of 2022.  While our support services are based in the North-East, we offer a range of CPD accredited training sessions to professionals, young people and schools nationwide. These sessions have been developed by a team with extensive and varied lived, professional and teaching experience. Our training sessions cover topics including LGBT+ Awareness, Gender Identity Awareness, Creating an LGBT+ Inclusive Environment and Understanding Pronouns. The development of these sessions has resulted in our team having an in depth understanding of the issues faced by members of the LGBT+ community in the workplace, the challenges they can face and strategies to promote allyship and effective inclusion.

Stockton Sixth Form College has built an exceptional reputation for academic achievement over many years and, as the only specialist sixth form college in Stockton on Tees, has over 40 years’ experience delivering A-level, BTEC and GCSE qualifications to students aged 16-19 from across the region. In 2016, we became the first sixth form college in 18 years to merge, when we formalised our working partnership with Prior Pursglove College. The merger helped safeguard sixth form college education in each respective borough and now enables us to move forward in a strong position to fulfil our vision of offering high quality education across a wide range of courses in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Ofsted judged Stockton Sixth Form to be a ‘Good’ college across all areas in its latest report, noting “high success rates across all levels of study” and “very effective support for students”. Paul Renwick | Senior Instructor Paul has been involved with the world of rescue since joining Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team at the age of 18 (That’s over 19 years ago!). Within this team he has been involved in the development of their technical rescue capabilities; currently heading up the training for specialist water and height related rescues. He is a fully certified Rescue 3 Instructor and has delivered courses throughout the UK. His passion for working in the outdoors, especially the Rescue environment, and encouragement from numerous candidates who had attended his courses eventually led him to create Rescue North East Ltd. He is proud to have 100% positive feedback and an ever growing reputation for delivering a high quality service. This makes him the first port of call for many different organisations; cementing his reputation as “a problem solver”. Aspire, Achieve and Succeed at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, Darlington, County Durham Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College is located in Darlington, County Durham in the North East England. Our success and popularity as a college are built upon our commitment to providing our students with the best possible learning environment and highest possible standards of support and guidance. We are proud of the excellent relationships that exist between staff and students and our purposeful, lively and friendly atmosphere. Since opening, the College has been a popular choice for students and has continued to expand. There are approximately 2000 students on roll with a significant proportion travelling to Darlington from County Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire. We also enrol a significant number from independent schools. The majority of our students have a full A Level Study Programme and the academic work of the College is of a high standard with an excellent record of examination success across the curriculum. In 2021 our A Level pass rate was an outstanding 100% with a high grade rate of over 64%. Over recent years, we have invested more than £7 million in our buildings and facilities at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. Developments include an expanded and refurbished library, open access learning areas, Apple equipped Media and Art Graphics suites, state of the art science facilities, a fully equipped performance studio and purpose built progress tutor group spaces. There was also an extension completed to the student common room which included a Costa Coffee outlet. We’ve also done a lot of work to preserve and enhance our iconic Victorian frontage.
