It gives me great pleasure to write this introductory letter to you in my role as Headteacher. Tilston Primary School is undoubtedly a welcoming and nurturing school with amazing children and dedicated staff. Having lived in the village for many years, I know that this is a school with an extraordinary community, who wish the upmost success for their children and who have a caring and supportive ethos at their core. I feel very proud and excited to be Headteacher at Tilston Primary School. I am passionate about working in partnership with the children, staff, governors, St Mary’s Church and yourselves as the parent community, to continue to develop Tilston as an exciting, happy and successful school. Having taught in all year groups within my many years of teaching, I fully appreciate how important each year of a child’s education is towards preparing them for life. I am passionate about teaching and have high expectations of all abilities of children and I strive to ensure that our school supports children to do their best at all times and achieve. I left primary school with the fondest memories and a love of learning. My primary school provided opportunities for me to discover and unlock my hidden talents in a caring and nurturing environment. Every child has the ability to do amazing things when the school provides the right opportunities. Our core principle is to 'bring out the best in everyone.' We have over 28 years experience in developing ‘fit for purpose’ scientific research and models that mimic, as close as possible, the complexities of ‘real-life’. Our Liverpool site is segregated into independent laboratory areas that provide a wide range of scientific testing support services. With a dedicated team of very highly skilled PhD scientists with specialisms in an array of different fields including microbiology, biofilms, antimicrobials, biologics, cellular biology, regenerative medicine, biomaterials, clinical engineering, chemistry and diagnostics and biosensors, 5D are able to offer a flexible service to deliver on all your existing and on-going scientific needs. The 5D group work closely with our global customers who operate in many different sectors. These sectors include medical devices, wound care, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics & personal care, veterinary medicine, oral care & dentistry, food & drink, infection prevention & control, built environment, industrial & engineered systems and potable water. We also provide and develop customer specific CPD accredited training courses as part of the 5D Education Academy. As a ‘one stop shop for all microbiology and scientific testing’ the 5D group also provide on-going advice and support to our customers during their development of technical files and design dossiers for CE marks and 510k submissions. At 5D we are always advancing our skills and knowledge to improve on our existing scientific service offerings to our customers.

Welcome to Evolve Enterprise Established in 2016, Evolve Enterprise offer bespoke support for children from 7-11 who may be at risk of becoming disengaged in mainstream education due to their complex needs and vulnerabilities. We specialise in working with children who struggle to adapt to the demands and expectations of mainstream school and support them and their families through the pathways of assessment, planning and intervention. We offer a therapeutic based alternative provision from our center in Well Lane Primary School (Annex). We aim to to support schools, children and families and, if possible, help them to either re-integrate back to their mainstream school or enable transition into the provision that is most suitable to meet their educational needs at the earliest opportunity. Our therapeutic and nurturing environment is designed to support all our pupils to help them to progress and develop personally, socially and emotionally. We understand the importance to children and their development of being in a mainstream setting and spending time with peers and friends but, unfortunately this is not always possible. Our goal for all children who access the Evolve programme is to support them to integrate back into their chosen pathway while supporting schools, parents and other support services with a more strategic and seamless transition. At Evolve we have a strong sense of responsibility to our children and families and believe that by working in partnership we can help them to achieve so much more. Our vision is for Evolve to be a single point of contact for schools, helping manage the day to day support for each individual and, by promoting consistency and structure through our therapeutic learning, we aim to give them a sense of security and belonging. We believe that by offering this it will give a more complete support package and, by working with schools, help to maximise the best outcomes that help to guide some of the most complex and vulnerable children through key stage 2, and beyond, with purpose and guidance.

Our Aims Enbarr are proud to be a practitioner led organisation that does well from doing good. We are performance driven, with strong values, developed from within our organisation by our staff and stakeholders. Our key aim is to empower the community and enable them with the key support and skills to become the champion of their own destiny and realise the safe and secure futures for everyone to succeed in life and work. From this leadership the Enbarr Foundation will redevelop the John Summers – Shotton Steel site (Grade II) into a community hub for the people of Deeside and the surrounding areas to help work towards alleviating outstanding social issues and provide a place of Safety and support. Through this building we aim to :- Reduce financial, social and digital exclusion through training opportunities and social opportunities through its library and community café. Redesign the gardens and grow our own vegetables and create a woodland adventure and help educate a better way of eating to aid the poverty situation that is arising. Support young and unemployed people into quality local jobs at both the John Summers site and further into the community. Provide a sustainable hub for the community, local business and the third sector to meet and collaborate and work on joint projects. To create a museum that celebrates the vast History of the Area that will educate those that follow on the Heritage of the Area and its manufacturing legacy. To create a STEAM environment that is open for all where families, individuals and young people can learn together in their own time and pace.

I am exceptionally proud to lead and work in such a richly diverse school community in which students with different languages, cultures and religions learn together in harmony. One of our main priorities this year will be to ensure, as far as we can, that no child is left behind and that every child is challenged by the curriculum that we have in place. Students should find things difficult, although not impossible, at times. They should struggle at times and be expected to think deeply about the work that they do. They shouldn’t be getting everything right all of the time; if they are, the work is too easy and they’re not being challenged. None of this means that they shouldn’t be enjoying their learning; being challenged can be enjoyable. The curriculum is the bread and butter of our educational offer and should be inspiring a real thirst for learning; we can only do this through supporting and challenging.
