At Nottingham Girls’ Academy, we strive to fulfil everyone’s learning potential within a kind, nurturing and inclusive environment. Research shows that a single sex environment empowers girls to realise their potential. We foster a caring, supportive and happy environment which encourages our girls to flourish. In terms of behaviour, uniform and Academy standards we are very traditional and have high expectations. We expect pupils to wear the full Academy uniform correctly, attend well, behave respectfully to others and to work hard. We also believe that education is more than just academic success and aim to develop the whole person. Our curriculum nurtures the development of qualities and skills alongside the acquisition of knowledge. The Shop Zero Story When our founder, Sarah Maloy, went all-in on Plastic-free July in 2016, she felt completely overwhelmed! The world just wasn’t set up to help people reduce their waste. In committing to shop more consciously, Sarah embarked on an exciting new journey. She realised that if she was struggling to get bulk food and refills for her containers then other people would be too. How could she help to provide a solution? By opening her own zero-waste shop, Shop Zero (you can read about this experience in Sarah’s own words here). Sarah threw all of her research and knowledge into Shop Zero, only stocking products from ethical suppliers that she would personally use. Why do your eco-friendly shopping at Shop Zero? Our focus is on providing you with great quality sustainable goods with minimal packaging and a lower environmental impact. At Shop Zero, we know the provenance of what we sell – where our products come from and what they’re made of. We work alongside local producers and makers to bring you great quality sustainable products. To reduce packaging and food waste, we offer whole foods and store cupboard essentials in bulk and unpackaged. All ready for your own containers, in the quantities that you choose. We also host an exciting programme of ethically-focused events, talks, pop-up shops and workshops throughout the year featuring some amazing local independent businesses and individuals. And we’re here to talk with you about what you’re buying, so you can shop sustainably with confidence. We need a change in the way we consume and shop. Nature is cyclical and we need to follow her example (click here to find out more about adopting a circular economy). We’ve become disconnected from our environment. At Shop Zero, we want to support the move away from a linear approach of producing greater amounts of waste to taking more responsibility for the impact we have on our world.

We are House of Pain Academy, one of the most highly regarded professional wrestling academies in the UK. Through our supportive family atmosphere we aim to help everyone with an interest in becoming a Professional Wrestler, the opportunity to do so within a safe and comfortable environment. We are uniquely able to prepare you for a career within British Wrestling, with our excellent and established links to touring companies and regional promotions around the UK. The House of Pain ethos is that you will be supported in your wrestling training journey, and whether you would like professional wrestling to be your career in the future, or whether you’re looking for a new hobby, your training will be treated with the same respect and care. We think the Academy offers the perfect blend of a fun environment, and a serious training facility. Its down to the individual as to how they use the opportunities we will make available to them. We are based in Snienton, Nottingham, close to the city centre and with good transport links from other parts of the UK, being close to the M1, Nottingham Railway Station and East Midlands Airport. We run a full time facility, which currently hosts daily classes, 7 days a week, and at least 6 professional shows per month around Nottinghamshire. We hold regular monthly open days for prospective new students to try out Professional Wrestling at the same, in a welcoming environment where they can all learn the first steps together, guided by our trainers and senior members of the academy, after which they are welcome to join in with any of our beginners level classes. Derby City Boxing Academy was founded in February 2009 by Midlands A.B.A. coach Alex Neave. The club itself is in a prime location for the younger society with its main aim being to promote boxing and provide a facility for those whom participate, helping them become responsible citizens and respecting their local community. Our goal is to provide fair guidance and support to all, regardless of race, disability or gender. The club is affiliated to the Amateur Boxing Association of England (A.B.A.), which has set guidelines that all club members must follow. Amateur boxing is recognised worldwide as a contact sport, teaching the techniques and skills required to become an Amateur boxer under qualified instruction and supervision. Having inherited the desire to engage in combat from the beginning of man-kind, boxing enables individuals to release built up aggression, and provides a release from the every-day stresses life brings Derby City Boxing Academy prides itself on the environment it operates which is based on camaraderie and encouragement between all members. Our first priority is the well-being of our boxers and their development as individuals. Our members come from many different cultural backgrounds, both male and female and the club aims to build self-esteem, confidence, improved communication skills, respect, self-discipline and life skills.
