College of International Education

college of international education

Oxford

The College of International Education (CIE), located in the heart of Oxford, has been offering a range of short courses in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), exam preparation, 1-1 tutorials and a range of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) courses on a number of subjects since 1974. We specialise in small classes which ensure fast progress and attention to individual needs and a team of dedicated staff is always there to offer academic as well as pastoral support. The courses are available face to face and online for high school, university and mature students all year round as well as young learners (10 years old and over) during the summer. The summer school offers a vibrant international experience through communicative language courses and social programmes to help students build confidence and fluency in English, enjoy the beautiful city of Oxford and make friends for life. The aim of CIE is to enhance the academic and social potential of students, while promoting their understanding and appreciation of the diversity of various cultural traditions. The school provides courses that widen students’ social, professional and educational opportunities. CIE is accredited by the British Council and British Accreditation Council to ensure the courses are delivered to a high standard and appropriate to the abilities and needs of each student. We provide a safe and secure environment in which students and teachers feel empowered to develop their skills and also feel valued and respected.

Oxford

Welcome to Endeavour Academy! Our specialist school and children's home in Oxford is for children and young people aged between 8 and 19 with autism and severe learning difficulties who benefit from an autism specific environment. Developed in a partnership between MacIntyre Academies Trust and Oxfordshire County Council Endeavour was set up to meet the needs of students and their families locally. Our Academy tailors the national curriculum to students’ individual needs with a strong focus on gaining life skills that help independence. We work closely with parents and carers of each student to ensure the whole family is fully supported and reassured that their child is safe and happy, respected and celebrated. This includes the offer of flexible residential opportunities in our onsite Children’s Home. Our aim is to provide our children and young people with the skills and opportunities that will equip them to live purposeful lives. The curriculum we follow helps to ensure that all students receive a highly personalised, relevant education - with communication and sensory integration embedded. For our students who spend time in our residential provision, this includes a waking day curriculum which focuses on educational, social and emotional development as well as sensory aspects of the curriculum. Our staff work creatively and flexibly to tailor-make learning opportunities that motivate our students and reinforce learning. We are committed to staff development and all staff undergo a thorough induction and training program.

The Partnering Initiative

the partnering initiative

Oxford

The Partnering Initiative (TPI) was founded in 2003, with the passionate belief that only through collaboration among business, government, NGOs and the UN can we achieve the shared vision of a prosperous economy, thriving societies and a healthy environment. With roots going back to 1990, TPI is the world’s longest-established organisation dedicated to multi-stakeholder partnering. It remains internationally recognised as a pioneer of the field and continues to combine cutting-edge partnering theory, with direct action globally to drive effective partnering. TPI uniquely spans a spectrum from influence at the highest levels of international policy (including through our strong engagement with the United Nations system and international business organisations), through to drawing out learning and codifying practice from partnering managers on the frontline. TPI’s cutting-edge thinking, foundational concepts, frameworks and tools have helped to shape and define the field of multi-stakeholder partnering. TPI’s tools and guidebooks on all aspects of partnering have been downloaded over 50,000 times and have been used as the basis for multiple organisations’ internal guidance. TPI has trained over 4,000 people in effective partnering both through open and tailored training courses. It has guided the development of six in-country partnership platforms, resulting in the creation of multiple partnerships around the world. It has supported organisations such as Unicef, World Vision, the World Food Programme, Care International, Ikea Group, to develop their partnering strategies and build their institutional capacity to partner. And it has developed policy pieces that have influenced the United Nations system and international donors in their engagement and support of partnering. TPI’s work is guided by a UK-based core team, and delivered through a global network of associates and sister organisations based in over 20 countries.

Word Fountain Christian Ministries (WFCM) is led by God through Pastor (Mrs) Dupe Adefala and a team of Christians as part of the universal Church. WFCM seeks to be an ark of safety for everyone and an oasis of love where men, women, youths and children are Redeemed Refreshed, Revived and Equipped to give God pleasure, build bridges in relationships and develop in the plan and purposes of God. We pay attention to the flock and commend everyone to God and the word of His grace that is able to build us up and give us an inheritance among all that are sanctified – Acts 20:28 and 32. We bring to focus the manifold inheritance (all things that pertain to life and godliness) that God has packaged for all before even the first man or woman was created! Our main thrust is as follow: Reverential worship of the living God through prayer, sound teaching of biblical principles and its application. Promoting and celebrating the richness of human diversity. Reaching out to the community with the word of faith. Fostering an environment for development of leaders and every member in the knowledge of God. We thank God Almighty for the privilege to serve Him in His glorious vineyard. SERVING THE COMMUNITY We work towards facilitating social inclusion and integration of the diverse community in Oxford. Word Fountain is a registered member of National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), Oxfordshire Council for Voluntary Organisations (OCVA) and Oxfordshire Community Champions. In addition to the spiritual input of the five-fold ministry, the need to develop and deploy internal competencies fit for successful living in the world is critical to our mission. We have organised and funded an Economic Empowerment Day with input from various organisations, Parenting Club was co-funded by the Oxfordshire County Council, Play Day 2009 funded by Oxford Play Association, Women and Sexual Health Seminar, Managing Money God’s Way with Stewardship, etc. In addition our Annual Youths/Children Day as well as Praise Night events have been vehicles for reaching and serving the wider community. We are currently working with the Horspath Residents’ Association to develop a Youth mentoring and engagement scheme for the community. We thank God Almighty for the privilege to serve Him in His glorious vineyard.
