Welcome to Woody's Sports Academy CURRICULUM PE Curriculum PE provides children with sporting activities and exercises that enable students to extend their skill base and knowledge by exploring the various sports on offer. Through high quality delivery with guided learning techniques, our staff through their professional approach create a comfortable learning environment to bring out the best in students; helping them gain a better skill base, to grow their confidence and develop their competency level. We like to work closely with our schools and strongly feel by gaining objectives set out by class teachers through their lesson plans, we can help achieve those all important goals. Our staff provide regular individual assessments (half-termly) to help assist class teachers with student reports.

With a longstanding history in the training and recruitment sector, we identified a large gap where both learners and employers were being dramatically underserved with a considerable lack in high quality training opportunities for individuals and bespoke training programmes for employers. These problems create an incredibly toxic environment where young adults remain unemployed, become increasingly frustrated and unhappy and where employers are exposed to vulnerabilities of staffing issues and are unable to scale or grow and where the industry as a whole becomes stagnant. We decided it was time to intervene and alter the direction the industry was headed. It was here that our vision for RE:geon was born.

Paul Renwick | Senior Instructor Paul has been involved with the world of rescue since joining Teesdale & Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team at the age of 18 (That’s over 19 years ago!). Within this team he has been involved in the development of their technical rescue capabilities; currently heading up the training for specialist water and height related rescues. He is a fully certified Rescue 3 Instructor and has delivered courses throughout the UK. His passion for working in the outdoors, especially the Rescue environment, and encouragement from numerous candidates who had attended his courses eventually led him to create Rescue North East Ltd. He is proud to have 100% positive feedback and an ever growing reputation for delivering a high quality service. This makes him the first port of call for many different organisations; cementing his reputation as “a problem solver”. Industries that currently use his advisory expertise include the UK Emergency Services, Renewable Wind Energy and the Construction services.

A very warm welcome to our new school website! We really do feel that the video and photographs show the warmth and welcoming nature that is always commented on when we have visitors. We filmed them on the hottest day of the year last summer- uniform became the coolest clothing possible whilst we made the most of the sun (and shade) to share with you what Simonside Primary School is all about. We are extremely proud of our school and the work we do here. It is a caring environment where we encourage the children to ‘Believe to Achieve’ and to be equipped with skills and knowledge which will prepare them for secondary school and life beyond. Our school has so much to offer- an exciting curriculum, staff who want the best for the children, Breakfast Club, after school and lunchtime clubs, to name just a few! At SlamFresh, we believe poetry can make a big difference to young people’s lives. But the need to create a nurturing and supportive environment in which to write has never been greater. Although the popularity of the art form, particularly spoken word, continues to grow on an unprecedented scale, last year, for the first time in our country’s history, poetry was nearly made an optional GCSE subject. As well as this, the recent closure of schools has meant that young people from lower economic backgrounds have been put at an even greater disadvantage than they already were. Cut off from schools, many of these young people simply have not had the space or resources to access creative opportunities, at a time when they need them more than ever. SlamFresh is a CIC based in the Newcastle upon Tyne which aims to address these problems. We run workshops that focus on the contemporary styles of spoken word and slam poetry, styles of writing which we have found can engage some of the most reluctant students. SlamFresh work in partnership with schools and community centres to mentor young people in writing, editing and performance. We have 3 company directors, Rowan McCabe, Michael MacDonald and Jeff Price. Rowan McCabe and Michael MacDonald (stage name Donald Jenkins) also serve as the two primary facilitators for the workshops, although guests may be brought in on a freelance basis where required. The directors met through their work as professional poets. Collectively, they have spent over 40 years working with children and young people.

c4c (conect4children) is a large collaborative European network that aims to facilitate the development of new drugs and other therapies for the entire paediatric population. It is a pioneering opportunity to build capacity for the implementation of multinational paediatric clinical trials whilst ensuring the needs of babies, children, young people and their families are met. c4c is committed to meeting the needs of paediatric patients thanks to a novel collaboration between the academic and the private sectors, which includes 35 academic and 10 industry partners and around 500 affiliated partners. c4c endeavours to provide a sustainable, integrated platform for the efficient and swift delivery of high quality clinical trials in children and young people across all conditions and phases of the drug development process. c4c strives to bring innovative processes to all stages of clinical development by generating a new model of organization and of the clinical development process. By emphasizing inclusiveness and collaboration across geographical, specialty, sectoral, cultural and societal backgrounds, it will set up a new infrastructure to support all evaluations of medicines in children. In this manner, it will become a benchmark in the currently fragmented European clinical research environment. Best practices and up-to-date expert advice will inform the c4c approaches and methods, which will subsequently be refined in the context of viability trials.

A carefully planned indoor play space designed with open ended, wooden toys and resources to offer a calming environment and alternative to soft play. Suitable from birth to pre-school, we have chosen toys specifically to help in all areas of your Childs development. Our play space is the perfect fun day out in Durham and the North East. The team at Woodland Play Patch look forward to meeting you all at our creative play space! What we are about Owned and ran by Craig and Sophie Williams, parents to their son Avery and Ivy-Isabella, Woodland Play Patch was designed to offer a welcoming and calming play space to all parents, carers, babies and toddlers within County Durham and across the North East of England. After giving birth to Avery, Sophie felt limited with places that she could take Avery to, that had a focus specifically on babies and younger toddlers. Most places that were available were targeted towards older toddlers with a small baby pen and were so large and busy that often anxiety of taking Avery out meant that she often stayed at home. After attending a local toddlers group in Durham, where she met like minded mums, Sophie realised the importance of building a strong mum friendship circle and over the years from Avery being born to opening Woodland Play Patch, has created some strong mum friendships that she knows she has for life. After being "that mum" herself, Sophie and Craig wanted to create a space where mothers, fathers and carers can come with new born babies and toddlers, without the chaos of soft play. Somewhere intimate, where over time, customers will always see a familiar face and to encourage mums to sit together, talk and socialise. Somewhere, that allows the children to grow and develop where they can come as babies and enjoy until they start school. Five years on, Sophie is now lucky enough to benefit from Woodland Play Patch herself. After giving birth to their second child, daughter Ivy during the Pandemic, Sophie now has a strong community of mams, who she has met from Woodlands New Mam Socials. Although Woodland Play Patch was interrupted during the pandemic, we have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our customers over the last three years and seeing how the little ones use their imaginations with our toys. We have a strong, loyal customer base of families who enjoy talking to other families, who there is always a friendly face when you visit. So if you have not been before we look forward to welcoming you to WOODLAND PLAY PATCH very soon.
