The principle aim of the school is for everyone in our school community to ‘Thrive Together’. Heathfield has a long track record of high–quality engaging education for children in Basford and Bulwell, this has been guided by our core values of ‘Knowledge, Nurture and Enrichment’. We provide a rounded and tailored curriculum that meets the needs of every child by knowing their individual contexts, needs, knowledge and skills. We then use our Heathfield Pledge to outline the expectations that we place on the pupils and ourselves. We are a recently expanded Local Authority maintained school with two campuses. Our original school is on Scotland Road in Basford and accommodates up to 280 pupils plus a nursery. Our second campus is on Highbury Vale (approx. a mile apart). The Kersall Drive Campus opened in October 2015 and now accommodates an additional 420 pupils plus a nursery. Achievement and enjoyment are important goals that we are determined to provide for all of our pupils in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We pride ourselves in providing a secure, yet stimulating, and challenging learning environment. We want our pupils to develop their strengths whilst having the confidence to address targets and areas identified for improvement. We do not compete or examine our dancers. It’s wonderful and refreshing to experience a non-competitive environment. When Ruth Anne Rogerson and her daughter Tammy founded Dance London in 1993, they wanted to create a studio that focuses on technical training and the love of dance. A place for everyone to be themselves and just enjoy dance. 25 years later, we are still following the same philosophy. When you take the competitiveness, awards, examinations, and medals out of dance, everyone can just be. Our dancers, parents and faculty don’t compete with one another— instead, they encourage and support each other. Everyone is equal and a part of our family. At Dance London, you become a part of a family that supports and encourages one another. Your child won’t feel left out or overshadowed by others, because no matter their age or skill level everyone is treated equally. Your child will be placed in the best class based on their skill level and age. All 6 – 17-year-old classes are based on skill level and age. This builds our dancers’ confidence by not feeling lost or behind in class. It also gives our high-level dancers the opportunity to keep progressing and not be held back in a class that is not challenging. By grouping dancers together that are in the same age range, they are able to connect and bond socially with their peers. We cap our class size. Instead of packing as many dancers as we can into our classes, we have a maximum number of dancers allowed per class. This allows our faculty to give enough one-on-one attention to each student.

Meadows is a romantic and feminine collection inspired by Victoriana, prairie-style, and folklore. Centred around dresses, the collection is inspired by various sources. The white cotton styles with a focus on embroidery and lace draw their inspiration largely from Victorian undergarments. Floral printed cotton which is inspired from the Victoriana revival of the 1970s. The collection also dips into a wide selection of historical inspiration from Tudor to The Renaissance, and fuses them with a modern sensibility. Meadows is designed in Hackney, East London, by Australian born, Central Saint Martins graduate, Louise Markey. Meadows is committed to make clothes which are made in a safe, ethical environment where working conditions are fair. We pride ourselves in sustainable practices and ethical manufacturing. We embody innovative cuts, bold colours and fine fabrics which are produced ethically and encourage slow, sustainable fashion. We have boutique-sized factories in China which are meticulously and consistently monitored by our supplier agents. Our factories have signed on to our internal ethical and safety compliance documents which we manage, inspect and enforce internally. We conduct frequent audits and have a supportive relationship with our manufacturers. These audits cover areas such as worker safety, gender equality and payment of a living wage. Meadows has made a long term aim to source more sustainable fabrics. We use industry standard textiles dyes which undergo rigorous testing before being used in the market and only Oeko-Tex certified printing inks. We are currently in the process of moving our products into Global Organic Textile Standard certified organic textiles and aim to source wool yarn exclusively from suppliers who adhere to the Responsible Wool Standard.

Here at Cedar Pottery, I will guide you through the various techniques in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Hand building, throwing on the wheel, sculpturing can all be tried. Glazing can be fun too and I will help you to understand this interesting part of the art of pottery. You are more than welcome to visit the studio to find out more about the environment you will be working in, the classes available and have a chat about what you want to achieve. There are six places per pottery course meaning we can tailor the classes to suit you, your level of skill and your creativity! It doesn’t matter how much potting experience you have – total beginner or happy hobby potter. I can offer one-to-one time to tutor each individual, and so the making schedule can be flexible. I am a thrower, but can also tutor in hand building and sculpture work and will take you through the various techniques needed to throw good pots. Currently I have two electric wheels. We run 2 hour taster courses, 1/2 day and one-day courses and for those who want to really develop their skill, then we have a 8 week intensive course.

The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) was established as the National Association of Theatre Nurses, NATN, in 1964. As a membership organisation and registered charity AfPP works to enhance skills and knowledge within operating departments, associated areas and sterile services departments. AfPP aims to enhance the quality of care and patient safety in the NHS and the independent sector throughout the UK. In April 2005 NATN changed its name, structures and systems in recognition of the significant changes that were happening in the healthcare sector and the wider perioperative environment and to accommodate the growing numbers of Operating Department Practitioners and Healthcare Support Workers who were previously not eligible for full membership. AfPP also works to encourage the exchange of professional information between members and co-operation with other professional bodies. These include the Departments of Health in the UK, the Perioperative Care Collaborative, the Medical Royal Colleges, Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs) of all four member countries, Skills for Health and many of the British Safety Institution Committees and other groups set up to discuss specific issues related to perioperative care.
