On becoming an independent social enterprise, we went on to deliver large-scale neighbourhood regeneration programmes like the Single Regeneration Budget, New Deal for Communities and Neighbourhood Renewal Funding. In 2011 Renaisi was part of the consortium that set up the Big Local programme. Our role managing the ‘reps’ took us beyond London and allowed us to bring together the two halves of our expertise; supporting communities and social research. Alongside that national work we delivered services in Islington, Haringey and Hackney that helped migrant communities get the most out of the local school system. While the policy and funding landscape has changed a lot in the last 20+ years, ‘place’ has remained the lens we use to consider our work. We’re constantly learning from the different perspectives we see from working directly with communities, with the providers of services and the investors in communities. It gives us a unique perspective on how systems work and how to improve places fairly.

Tinder Foundation support thousands of community partners to be smarter in how they use digital technology through our Community How to website, and through our management of the UK online centres network and the Learn My Way online learning platform, and have helped more than one million people gain the skills they need to use computers and the internet confidently. UK online centres Tinder Foundation manages the national network of UK online centres, which exist in 5,000 communities throughout the UK, supporting people to improve their computer and internet skills and to become confident internet users. UK online centres are key to combating digital exclusion, and the grassroots support they provide has a huge impact on both individuals and communities. Community How To Tinder Foundation created, and now manages, the Community How To website. The website was designed to help community organisations find the digital tools that can help them do more, more easily, and the website relies on user recommendations from the community to help people find the tools that they need. Learn My Way Learn My Way is an online learning platform, built especially to make getting online easy. Courses are combined to create packages to help people follow a logical path in developing their digital skills. English My Way English My Way is a fresh approach to English language learning, focused on supporting adults with no or low levels of English to better integrate with their local communities

Find out more here --- RHET SBCI can help you with: Farm Visits Classroom Speakers Resources Projects Events Farm Visits For Primary and Secondary schools RHET SBCI has a number of farms in the area with a network of volunteer farmers and their families who kindly give their time to support RHET. A farm visit can support many areas of the curriculum such as environmental studies, IT and business studies, technology, science, mathematics and enterprise. Visits are provided from Level 1, linked to experiences and outcomes, and compliment DYW, STEM and LfS agendas. We carry out regular risk assessments of all participating farms to the standard recommended in the Health and Safety Executive’s Guidelines on Educational Excursions. Around two weeks prior to the actual visit, the class teacher will visit the farm with our Project Coordinator to meet the farmer, walk the route and check over the risk assessment. Classroom Talks For Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools. We have a network of trained classroom speakers, made up of volunteer farmers from the local area, who can visit your school and bring farming and the countryside to life. Once a booking has been confirmed, the speaker will contact the teacher to discuss the format, content of the session and curriculum links. Chrysalis Craft Coventry CIC was founded in March 2020 in response to the urgent unmet needs of BAME and migrant communities who were disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The lockdown has challenged the mental health and wellbeing of everyone, more so for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in our communities. Many have experienced unimaginable trauma and have seen major disruptions in their life already. The pandemic has amplified further the existing mental health problems. Often left in limbo, not able to take on higher education studies and not allowed to work (with many refugees under or unemployed) and likely to face loneliness or worse, direct discrimination, within their new communities. Chrysalis Craft Coventry CIC run sessions and activities to help with healing, using art and different artistic methods for wellbeing. The aim is to build self-esteem and friendship through artistic techniques, using art to work against loneliness as a result of language, cultural and ability barriers. The social enterprise supports people from a variety of different backgrounds, focussing on disadvantaged adult women immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers. Focusing on women who came to Coventry and the surrounding area recently, and those who have been here for a long time, but who have experienced barriers to integration. Local authority, NHS and charities working with migrants’ commission and refer people onto in-person and online workshops. Grant funding supports materials and content development. Over the short period of the start-up, Chrysalis Craft Coventry CIC supported thousands of individuals suffering from loneliness, domestic abuse, stress, anxiety, depression, homesickness and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder because of life experiences with positive results. During the pandemic the workshops have proven invaluable, acting as a safe environment and an information and signposting service. Directing people to urgently needed services they could not reach due to language barrier or stigma caused by misinformation.

Bike for Good is a charity and social enterprise which started in July 2010 in a small stall in Glasgow’s Barras market. With a few donated bikes, a cobbled-together tool kit and a team of volunteers with a huge amount of passion and drive, Bike for Good (then known as Glasgow Bike Shed) was born! We now have three thriving Community Hubs in Glasgow and an amazing team of 42 staff members and 50 + volunteers who are changing thousands of lives through cycling. Many of our wonderful volunteers have shared their experiences of working with Bike for Good through our online case studies. Bike for Good provides access to low cost but good quality bikes whilst diverting tonnes of waste from landfill. These bikes are kindly donated by members of the public and are then refurbished and sold in our two Community Hubs. Find out more about how to donate your bike. On average, our team of mechanics refurbish over 1000 bikes per year, diverting tonnes of waste from landfill while also providing access to affordable bikes to the public. Find out more about how to buy a refurbished bike. As well as the environmental impact of this work, the income from bike sales helps to fund our work in the community. To keep your bike in tip-top condition, our expert mechanics offer a comprehensive bike maintenance and repair service. The aim is to keep you cycling all year round. In addition, we offer a comprehensive programme of inclusive projects which promote, support and encourage greater levels of cycling. Cycling has a multitude of benefits for society, from environmental improvements to health promotion and financial savings. We have created a series of projects and services which seek to highlight this to the public and fill a gap in current provision. You Can Cook is a celebration of food, people and cultures!  You Can Cook was established in 2007 and was set up to encourage and empower local communities to make informed choices about their food and health.  Healthy eating initiatives are promoted through every service from cookery classes, demonstrations, workshops, talks and seminars with training for young people in primary and secondary schools, youth groups, families, elderly, disadvantaged communities and individuals with allergies and food intolerances. A safe and relaxed environment is created where people from all ages can come together, socialise, rediscover and explore a healthier approach to cooking with simple and nutritious ingredients using seasonal and local produce. You Can Cook has created an off-shoot, You Can Grow which helps to raise awareness of how and where our food comes from and also introduces the concept of growing food free of chemical fertilisers and pesticides in client’s gardens and allotments.  This is done by teaching clients how to convert their outdoor/indoor paces into edible gardens or working together in community allotments using organic/permaculture principles. Another initiative to come out of this off-shoot is the launch of a book for growers in Scotland, aimed at aspiring growers of all ages, beginners and experts too. The book is a simple, practical guide to help purchasers take the first steps to growing their own food and have fun at the same time. There is no need to buy expensive starter kits to get growing as the book is full of easy to find and use household items that are normally thrown away and which can be recycled to help in the growing process. This is the first book published by a Community Interest Company and Social Enterprise aimed at Scottish growers. The book is priced at £12.99 and proceeds from sales mean that the Organisation is able to reach more families and communities across Scotland, helping them to grow and cook their own delicious food. The book is available in all big and independent bookstores in the UK, including online through our website.

Ladies of Virtue Outreach is a growing community based organisation working with local women and girls, mostly from the BAME communities. Currently based and operating in, but not limited to, Southwark, London, where we have been working for over ten years. We provide access to care, support and services that will improve life quality, health and well being. We are local women from all over the world working with local women from all over the world, exchanging learning, knowledge and experience as we go, with particular focus on supporting women with mental health challenges, who are marginalised, wanting to build their skillset, or feel vulnerable or isolated. We collaborate with a number of statutory and community partners to strengthen our offer. We are a Community Interest Company (CIC), and have a focus on innovation and enterprise alongside our wellbeing initiatives to support and sustain our work, as we offer free and affordable services to those who would benefit.
