I am a proud mother of 5 children. I am the founder of Childcare Solution, a quality childcare provider which was established in 2006. Family has always been extremely important to me being brought up in a family of five; My mum, dad and two brothers. As the eldest sibling I remember organising games and activities for my brothers to take part in. I remember organising races with other children who lived on our streets and even initiating small trips to the local marshes and swimming pool. From what I remember Our family extended to that of our neighbours and local community. We were a street of many nations; Irish, Dominican, Pakistani, Ghanaian, Caribbean and English. We shared our various cultures with each other, with music, celebrations and of course food. But the main highlight was, us the children playing together. We valued our similarities and appreciated our differences. We had the freedom to explore, experiment and challenge, even if it meant learning through painful mistakes. I went on to have a family of my own and after working at several childcare facilities it meant everything to me to provide a space for my children and for every child to create many positive memories. It was important that they could call their play environment their own. That they too could feel safe: to play, grow and make mistakes.

After a four year degree studying French, German and Spanish - I decided the obvious thing to do next was teach English in Japan! Random - but I’m so thankful I made this decision: because it was my introduction to teaching and set me on the path as an educator. 3 years later, I trained as a yoga teacher in Scotland, before moving to Cornwall and deciding I wanted to be a Primary School Teacher. I wanted to share with kids so much about life and the world! Teaching was, admittedly, harder than expected. I loved elements but hated others. I’d always prioritised my health and wellbeing - but I found myself becoming stressed like I’d never experienced before. I know now that if I’d have continued to prioritise my own wellbeing, not only would teaching have been easier - but the children would have also benefited so much more. This is one of the key reasons Class Yoga is here: to raise the wellbeing of educators, so that the pupils benefit in turn. (Listen to more on this, here.) I believe we need to look after our own wellbeing to raise the wellbeing of our pupils I started to share yoga when I could. I got to see what worked and what didn’t; and I got a glimpse of some promising results. But when I left full-time teaching and started supply (and sharing more yoga) I started getting called back - to teach yoga! Because now the clear evidence, of greater calm and focus in children in the classroom after yoga, was shining out! So began my calling to teach yoga to more children, in more schools. Over this time, I developed and refined my method of teaching mindful movement to children, that I still teach and train others in, today. After graduating with a 2.1 BA Hons in Marketing and Business Studies, I qualified as a teacher and taught Maths, English, Music, Science and Business Studies in a Secondary State School. S6 Tutoring is a private limited company in the education sector, dedicated to tutoring and mentoring young people. The company is young and vibrant and is the choice for parents who want their children to maximise their academic potential. Our vision is to play a pivotal role in improving academic standards. The company provides an initial, honest, home assessment that will accurately evaluate a child’s need. Each tutor is CRB checked and has qualifications and experience relevant to the role. An assessment of a child’s ability and potential is carried out in the initial stages, leaving parents secure in their expectations. I encourage my team of tutors to be pro-active in their approach and be responsible for the provision of educational services, continually pushing the boundaries with effective and exciting teaching aids. We receive excellent recommendations and client reviews and have continued to attract new clients, due to the commitment of the team and the continued success rate in students passing and obtaining a place at their first choice of grammar school – details of which can be seen on our Results pages. Dr. Steve Wolf, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 10230), in private practice in West Los Angeles. After teaching Anger Management for five years, he was recognized as having diplomate status with the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) in 2005; which he currently holds. He has been an innovator throughout his professional career. He co-directed New York City’s first Prison Therapeutic Community Program in Rikers Island Prison’s Psychiatric Ward in 1973 and directed Rikers’ first Therapeutic Community Drug Program for the general prison population in 1974. He directed a Day Treatment Center in Litchfield Connecticut, volunteered with the L.A. Sheriff’s Department to co-create Project Turnaround, an Acupuncture Detox program on L.A.’s skid row. He co-created an alternative middle school in Topanga, CA, co-authored “Romancing the Shadow: A Guide to Soul Work for a Vital Authentic Life” (Ballantine, 1997, translated into six languages), and developed “The Village Circle Project”: leaderless groups for self-exploration. He consulted as a Co-Occurring Disorders therapist in Los Angeles working with men coming directly from prison, jail or the street for five years. In 2006, he authored the “Taming Your Anger” series of English and Spanish workbooks, DVD’s, C.D.’s and workshops. He recently taught the Taming Your Anger/Emotional Intelligence Method to at-risk teens and has produced a documentary film of that program. In 2010. he founded the Wolf Training Institute, which serves as the umbrella for all the programs in development. This is where the practitioners are certified to teach and coach the Taming Your Anger, Taming Your Anxiety and CouplezWork Programs. The Taming Your Anger Program is recognized by the National Anger Management Association. In 2012, he produced the documentary, Remedy 4 Rage; the story of one alternative high school group and their journey into exploring their own emotions. In 2014, he began to host the weekly “Shrink Different Radio Show” on the TFOK Network. He has interviewed celebrities and regular people who have interesting lives. The show is about people and their passions. He maintains a therapy practice, working with adults and couples in West Los Angeles. The next book is on the evolving couple and is scheduled to be released in early 2020.

Many visitors to Brecon walk to the Usk bridge from where they can photograph the Beacons. In the foreground is a group of buildings which are also worth the visitor’s attention. At the entrance to these buildings a board tells the visitor this is Christ College, founded by royal charter in 1541. That is only half the story of this site which has been occupied for over seven hundred and fifty years. The history of Christ College falls into three unequal periods. For three hundred years it was a Dominican friary; in 1541 Henry VIII established a school here and finally in 1855 the modern ‘public’ school was founded by Act of Parliament. The surviving buildings reflect each of the three periods. The Dominicans were friars who first came to Britain in 1221; they are first mentioned as being at Brecon in 1269. Given that range of dates and the evidence of the surviving medieval buildings, it is likely that the friary was founded c.1250.
