Russ began Career Guidance Charts back in 2009. Whilst working in careers education he began to visualise careers for students in mind map format in order to help further their aspirations and build on their occupational knowledge. It wasn't until 2013 that the business was born. Since then the career guidance charts have developed into full graphics and expanded to include a range of career and technical education areas. We are a small and unique company passionate about educating students through infographics. We.'ve expanded our range into well over 130 infographic products, and produce both digital products and roller banners as well as career posters in areas such as career and employability. Furness College is a general further education college in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. It is situated over two campuses: the Channelside Campus with its outstanding vocational facilities, and the Sixth Form Campus on Rating Lane where our A level offer is delivered. Furness College was judged to be a GOOD college by Ofsted in March 2019, with GOOD grades in all five main judgement areas of: GOOD – Overall Effectiveness GOOD – Effectiveness of Leadership and Management GOOD – Outcomes for Learners GOOD – Quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment GOOD – Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare It also received an excellent Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) report in February 2016 for its higher education provision where it was commended for its student enhancement activities. This includes key transferable skills such as learning skills, management of self, communication skills, ICT and numeracy skills, academic writing skills etc. Foundation Degrees are flexible qualifications and are designed to meet the need of employers for highly skilled, work-ready personnel. The qualifications are similar to Higher National Diplomas, but with added emphasis on work-based learning. Unless a course states otherwise, Foundation Degrees generally last two years (full time) though some courses offer a part time study option – please see individual course entries for further details. You can be confident that our courses are industry relevant and current, written in consultation with employers and key industry partners. Students spend the first two years to attain a Foundation Degree, and then have the option to top up their qualification to gain a full honours degree, either with us at University Centre Leeds or at an alternative institution.
