Our Aims SATRO is a long established educational charity working across South Central England. We work in schools, partnering with employers to bring inspirational learning to students of all abilities and backgrounds. We have three key areas of focus: STEM Education: delivering in-school workshops, multi-school challenges and events, and research projects which bring STEM learning and careers to life for students from Primary to Post-16. Vocational Construction: delivering BTEC Level 1 construction qualifications, practical construction workshops and SEN independent skills training from school age to young adults. Employability & Skills: delivering careers, enterprise & skills workshops and mentoring partnerships which challenge perceptions and prepare students for their next steps in education, training or employment. All areas of our work directly involve employers in the development of real-world scenarios and careers understanding, including the involvement of staff as volunteers in delivery. We offer our services to all types of schools and students of all abilities - accepting every student for who they are. We provide a full service to schools from booking, to the provision of all materials & equipment required on the day, administration of volunteers and delivery is led by experienced tutors. We measure impact and feedback for all interventions with input from students, teachers and volunteers. As a charity we engage with charitable trusts, individual donors and corporate responsibility programmes. Bauer Academy was founded by Courtnay McLeod, a news broadcaster and academic, in 2014. Courtnay had seen that traditional education was in many instances failing employers and learners. She set up the Bauer Academy inside Bauer Media, initially to create a talent pipeline for Bauer’s multi-platform media business in the UK. The Bauer Academy grew rapidly, launching partnership programmes with The Big Lottery, The Rank Foundation, the European Social Fund, and The Prince’s Trust, amongst others. The learners on these programmes are given access to Bauer Media’s experts and resources to learn practical skills like content production and creative writing, as well as all-important employability training. In 2016, The Bauer Academy was accepted on to the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers. Apprenticeship Standards can be introduced to develop and increase skills in existing employees as well as new entrants, and our team have developed a smart, flexible and collaborative delivery model that has changed the language of Apprenticeships. The Bauer Academy’s work on diversity was featured in an Ofcom report and video, and has been showcased at an event we hosted at Westminster for MPs and leaders in education. We have introduced new programming roles within Bauer Media’s radio business, that specifically targeted and hired from under-represented female groups. The Academy’s contribution to tackling diversity issues is genuine, and creates not only a positive impact but genuine change within the media and other industries.

Inner Flame is a local Swindon-based Charity running programmes for young people who find themselves at a disadvantage in Swindon and Wiltshire. The organisation was founded by David Wreathall in 2008. The passion is to give young people the tools and mindset to thrive in their future lives. Our programmes are based around experiential learning; challenging the young people and inspiring them to grab life and run with it. We are probably best known for the Prince’s Trust Team Programme, which is a 12-week full time employability and self-development programme. It’s an incredible programme and can genuinely be life-changing. We have also developed our own Mental Health Programme: Manage Anxiety Your Way. We created this in response to the increased need (even before the Pandemic) for mental health support for young people. This programme is proving to meet a need and the feedback about the impact on young people is powerful. Around these programmes we run shorter programmes to create a full progression route for young people. Success is measured by hard outcomes, such as young people progressing to the workplace, but also by soft outcomes; such as increased resilience, motivation and development of goals and aspirations. At Inner Flame we always start with the individual. Many young people who come through our doors have low self esteem and feel their lives have little value. We show them that they can achieve and help them start their journey.

Cambian is one of the largest providers of specialist education and behavioural health services for children in the UK. Our services have a specific focus on individuals who present with high severity needs. We provide a broad range of specialist services across England. These services include specialist education schools and colleges for both day and residential learners, residential care homes and a therapeutic fostering service. Our specialist education schools and colleges support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger Syndrome (AS), moderate to severe learning disabilities, associated challenging behaviours and complex needs. Our specialist residential care homes support children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and associated complex needs. We provide care, therapy and education for a discrete cohort of needs within these homes; this includes provisions for children who have experienced complex trauma (neglect and abuse), those who have been sexually exploited, and those with a learning disability. These homes are all supported by specialists schools to support their individual educational needs. We also run a therapeutic fostering service through which we are able to support children with a variety of complex needs within a family environment. We recognise that each child is an individual with their own needs, desires and dreams, and we are fully committed to supporting each child to enable them to achieve ‘their personal best’. My passion for travel started when I was 17, leaving home and going to the Irish traditional city of Galway on the beautiful west coast of Ireland to live and work. This journey has continued and never wavers to the current day. I’m always looking for the next adventure and to “step outside my comfort zone” I have taught English and lived in San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, Hungary, Spain and traveled extensively all over Asia and the Pacific. pexels-photo-1560932 Educational Tourism I currently work in Educational tourism and I’m the European Project Manager for Foyle International Ltd. I oversee Erasmus work-based internships from all over Europe. I also write large funding applications to give local people the opportunity to experience different cultures, learn new working ethics and enhance their employability skills.
