Having seen the benefits of first aid training, in giving individuals the knowledge and confidence to help in an emergency, I think it's important that as many of us as possible gain these skills. My career as a nurse in both hospitals and schools has given me both the knowledge and practical experience to deliver first aid training in a way that is effective, practical and fun. Hi, I'm Mairéad and I'm a baby massage teacher, antenatal teacher and postnatal practitioner based in Epsom, Surrey. In my other role, as a mother, I have two young boys who keep me extremely busy. I am passionate about supporting women and their partners through pregnancy and birth and providing them with tools to help with their transition to parenthood and the first days, weeks and months. My training with NCT and the University of Worcester as well as my role as volunteer co-ordinator of our local NCT Bumps and Babies group has afforded me the privilege of working with many parents and children over the last few years. In fact, it is since having my own children and realising how challenging parenthood can be that I decided to change career and become involved in perinatal support.
