The Outdoor Collaborative, is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) that advances education in Greater Manchester in the art of photography and filmmaking focused on the outdoors, particularly amongst young people. The charity does this by providing guided walks in the British countryside whilst incorporating training to develop and improve digital media skills. By providing these services, The Outdoor Collaborative gives the users an opportunity to gain valuable life skills.The young people will also get a much needed ‘stepping stone’ to future employment as their work will be showcased for potential employers to view. The lives of the young people will also be improved as, by providing an opportunity to be outdoors and be creative, their mental health should be improved.

I’m Melanie, I deliver a range of creative art and craft workshops in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. As an artist and craftsperson, I enjoy playing with fused glass and textiles. I’m inspired by the array of colour and texture found in nature. The natural wonders and beauty of the sky, water, trees, insects, flowers and the ever changing seasons never fail to amaze me and influence my creative work. I love learning new creative processes and spending time creating art for pleasure and relaxation. I’m a fully qualified secondary school Art and Design teacher with a BA Hons Degree in Fashion and Textiles. Up until the start of 2020 I worked in mainstream education as an Art Teacher for over fifteen years.

Welcome to Broadfield Specialist School Our Vibrant Learning Community Includes And Values Everyone – Inspiring ALL to Succeed Broadfield Specialist School is a provision for students with generic learning difficulties aged 11-19. All students on roll, currently 171, have an EHCP, Education, Health and Care Plan. The school is organised into 19 classes within three departments, Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. In each Key Stage there is provision for students with more complex needs, who follow a sensory curriculum. Some classes have a more specialised and highly structured environment to meet the needs of our students with ASD. We have a policy for teaching students with ASD and apply specialist approaches and interventions consistently throughout school. We have an increasing number of high functioning ASD students.

She has been a speaker at national and local primary MFL events and has worked with The British Council, universities and local authorities in France and Spain to provide intensive language training and job shadowing opportunities for UK, Spanish and French teachers. She has also been a trainer for the Department for Education Language Improvement Programme (with CfBT). Now working as an independent language consultant, Odette continues to support schools with their MFL development, providing courses, training, workshops, INSETs and in-class support. She is currently an external tutor for the Primary PGCE General & Specialist Languages Programme at Manchester University, a member of NALA (the National Association of Language Advisers).

Since 2015 YSWN has established a network for women and girls interested in gaining skills and confidence in music and sound technology. We’re growing all the time, with several affiliated groups across Yorkshire – and as far afield as Malta – who provide a place for sharing skills and advice, finding mentors, making friends and building communities. In addition, we run a host of projects devoted to education, network-building and artistic development. We also work with the audio industry to promote equality, tackle discrimination and increase opportunities for women and people of non-binary genders. Our workshops offer hands-on experiences in DJ-ing, live coding, Ableton, soldering electronic instruments and much more, in friendly, encouraging environments. We’ve hosted inspiring talks by leading musicians and audio professionals – and we have our own podcast.
