Hello and welcome to Newcastle Beekeepers’ Association Honey Bees are fascinating insects and as a group we seek to understand them better and to support their wellbeing. We are a welcoming group who’s common interest is all aspects of local beekeeping. Our Association covers approximately a 20 mile radius from Newcastle into North and South Tyneside, Gateshead and the southern and eastern ends of Northumberland. We are affiliated to the National British Beekeepers Association, which provides significant benefits including: valuable public liability insurance cover, a monthly magazine and access to education and training. We have a year round meeting schedule with talks, beekeeping demonstrations and practical apiary training sessions during the summer months. Our members come of all ages and walks of life, with new members always especially welcome. We enjoy helping those looking to start or develop an interested in beekeeping and you're welcome to come along to up to three meetings to find out more, have a chat and decide if you'd like to become a member. Engaging, enabling and empowering vulnerable people to regain control of their financesClean Slate is a not-for-profit organisation set up to provide financial education and support to hard to reach vulnerable people – originally to those battling drug and alcohol addiction. Financial difficulties can exacerbate issues for those fighting addictions and make the recovery phase more difficult. Our service was set up to provide free, confidential face to face support to help; not only ‘wipe the slate clean’, but to educate people so that they can manage their own finances effectively, and not fall back in to the same financial problems in the future. WHO WE ARE 01_icon Financial Inclusion for All Our services have been designed to work closely with members of the community who have encountered financial difficulties due to lifestyle choices and prevent the likelihood of relapse, for example, into former drinking and substance misuse patterns, which impact on their financial position in life. Working a lot with service agencies such as Changing Lives and Crisis, as well as housing providers across the region including Derwentside Homes and Cestria, it has become apparent that much of what we offer is equally applicable to help the wider community.

In September 2016, the new school building opened and the school is now a thriving, attractive and well resourced school serving the community of Prudhoe and beyond. OFSTED arrived soon after the new school opened in 2016 and the school was judged as good. Since then, the school has continued to improve in all aspects including the achievement of students. I am very privileged to lead an exceptional team of very dedicated staff who support students every day so that they can achieve their very best. This is a particular strength of Prudhoe Community High School and we pride ourselves on the excellent relationships within our school community.
