Our new, state-of-the-art school opened to pupils on August 20 2012. The facilities are first rate and include a fitness suite, drama studio, assembly hall, social dining area and recording studio alongside our excellent general purpose and specialist classroom areas. In addition, specialist outdoor 3G playing fields are available to pupils during the school day and to the community after school hours. The school serves the community of Shotts and the surrounding areas of Harthill, Eastfield, Hartwood and Allanton. There are 5 local primary schools which form part of the Calderhead Cluster: Alexander Peden Primary, Allanton Primary, Dykehead Primary, Kirk O’Shotts Primary and Stane Primary. Strong links are established with all of our cluster schools and we work hard to ensure that pupil transition is as smooth as possible for pupils and parents.

Student working with her teacher Vision VCU-ACE is a state and national leader in developing, cultivating, and disseminating knowledge to increase implementation of research-based practice needed to effectively support individuals with autism spectrum disorder to lead quality lives in their home, school, community and work. Mission VCU-ACE improves services and supports for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by promoting the implementation of research-based practices in schools and the community through training, technical assistance, research, and collaboration. Training includes providing professional development to expand the expectations, knowledge, and skills of those who live with, educate, and support individuals with ASD. It supports the sustainable implementation of research-based practices by providing Instructional activities and resources to anyone who wants to learn more about ASD and to leaders who guide professional development initiatives in home, school, community and work. Technical assistance includes facilitating, implementing, and evaluating systems-change initiatives customized to the unique needs of stakeholders in educational and community environments, regions, and the Commonwealth. It supports the sustainable implementation of research-based practices by providing team facilitation, coaching, strategic planning, and project management in agencies, school divisions and direct services settings to build the capacity and confidence of those who support individuals with ASD. Research includes asking questions, seeking answers, and disseminating findings on important socially significant issues impacting individuals with ASD across the lifespan to improve quality of life. Research is conducted in real-world settings using sound research methodologies. Collaboration includes maintaining a spirit of cooperation in our interactions with colleagues and developing and sustaining partnerships with individuals with ASD and their families as well as local, commonwealth, and national entities to enrich, develop, disseminate, and deliver training, technical assistance, and research activities. Coltness High School is a non-denominational, co-educational, comprehensive school serving the north side of Wishaw. It takes pupils from S1 through to S6. Our pupils are drawn from our associated Primary Schools Cambusnethan Primary, Kirk Road, Wishaw Cleland Primary, Main Street, Cleland Calderbridge Primary, Coltness Road, Wishaw Under the Education Act, parents may choose to request that their children attend a school outwith their zoned area. In our current S1, we have pupils from 12 Primaries over and above the associated Primary Schools. Having opened in 1966 the school was fortunate enough to be included in the Schools and Centres 21 programme involving a complete re-modelling over 3 phases. The school now offers fantastic facilities in all curricular areas. The main teaching block also accommodates offices for Community Learning and Development. Facilities now include first class laboratories, classrooms and other teaching areas including vocational spaces. ICT provision is extensive and very up-to-date and there are welcoming social areas and a refurbished theatre. The Sports Barn is a popular community resource (opened in 1998) which, along with other brand new PE facilities, including a 3G floodlit football pitch, offer excellent resources for the Coltness Community Sports Hub based in the school.

Govan High Language & Communication Resource (LCR) is co-located within Govan High (mainstream) School. The LCR opened in 2003. It is a citywide provision to support young people, of secondary school age, who have a range of language and communication needs, related to their Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. The current LCR role is 34 pupils. Although our LCR pupils experience challenges related to their ASD, the majority are academically capable of accessing the secondary curriculum, with support. The curriculum will be the similar to that being offered within Govan High. At Broad General Education stage pupils will be taught mainly by LCR staff within the LCR classrooms. All S1 – S3 pupils access PE, Modern Languages and Science in Govan High School using Govan High School teachers, supported by LCR staff. At Senior Phase (S4 – S6), students have the additional option of accessing part of their curriculum through school-link or vocational courses at FE Colleges within Glasgow. This is in addition to courses being offered in both Govan High School and the LCR. LCR staff support pupils academically as well as promoting the acquisition of social, organisational and independent living skills. A number of staff are also trained to offer support with mental health, sleep, bereavement and emotional regulation issues

Hello! Welcome to our website! Who are we? In 2014 Imagine That Drama Classes began with a simple objective – to offer quality, affordable drama classes for the young people of Airdrie. Over the years our classes have grown from strength to strength and in 2020 we became Imagine That Performing Arts Ltd. Our own studios are now located in the most beautiful listed building at the heart of the community. Our students work with our qualified, experienced tutors from the performing arts industry as well as a range of industry experts from across the UK to reach their potential. Imagine That Performing Arts bridges the gap between ‘drama clubs’ and performing arts education. Our range of classes and the opportunities we offer ensure that all students needs are catered for, whether you are just looking for a new hobby or if you want to pursue a career in the arts. We pride ourselves in the opportunities we offer to our students. All students take part in regular productions, as well as theatre trips, casting opportunities, and masterclasses. Our students have gone on to star in TV shows, Hollywood films, and to pursue their dreams studying Music and Musical Theatre at university and college. He was an amazing horse who was a complete gentleman with a wicked sense of humour. He was extremely intelligent and very good at reading emotions and feelings; he was gentle and understanding however if you didn’t have a clue, he was capable of giving you a run for your money. He taught us the need for patience and that things in life cannot always be rushed. Over the years, through watching family and friends engaging with him we noticed how his behaviour changed to suit the approaches of the different people he came in contact with. If you were nervous then he was calm, if you were sad he could make you smile. However if you thought you knew more than you actually did, then he wasn’t long in letting you know how wrong you were. His loving and loyal nature made everyone feel at ease and showed us all the benefits of being around horses. Sadly, at the age of 28, after 24 years being part of Wilma’s family and Janis’s friend, he passed over the rainbow bridge. Phantom Our inspiration for Phantom's Legacy We had discussed for many years the possibility of opening a centre to provide therapy and education using horses. From our experience of being around Phantom and his best buddy Basil, we felt this could be possible. We talked a lot about it but never took it any further as we always found some reason not to. Phantom’s passing gave us the kick that we needed as we suddenly realised life is too short not to take the opportunity to help others experience what we learned from Phantom. In attempting to find a fitting memorial we decided that it was time to follow our dreams and keep his memory alive, Phantom’s Legacy was born.
