CDAT was formed in 2014 by the Chester Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) and has worked in very close partnership with the DBE ever since its inception. The trust has a distinctive ethos that is clearly rooted in clear, Christian values – respect, friendship and trust, to name just three. These impact on every area of our work and are communicated and shared in such a way that all member schools can understand and relate to them. Although the Trust was initially set up by the DBE, it is fully inclusive and we are happy to welcome both church and community schools into the CDAT family.

🌟 About Me: Hello there! I'm Julie, a dedicated professional in the driver education industry with a passion for guiding individuals towards becoming safe and qualified drivers. My journey began in 2003 when I achieved my qualification as a Driving Instructor, realizing a lifelong ambition and following in my father's footsteps. Helping young people navigate the road to safe driving has always been at the core of my mission. Life took an unexpected turn when my now ex- husband received an opportunity to work in Dubai, leading us to embark on a 15-year adventure in the Middle East. During this time, I temporarily stepped away from teaching. However, upon our return to the UK, the challenge of finding a Professional Driving Instructor for my 17-year-old daughter opened my eyes to the struggles parents face. This personal experience ignited my determination to re-qualify as an instructor, and I found immense joy in helping my daughter and other students achieve their driving dreams. In the wake of the global changes brought about by Covid, the demand for Driving Instructors soared. Distressed parents, unable to find professional help, approached me daily. Witnessing this struggle motivated me to create online courses, offering parents valuable insights and guidance for supporting their teenagers through the learning process. I also initiated the "Private Practice" Facebook Group, a community where I freely share advice to enhance home practice. 🚗 Online Courses: My online courses are designed to empower parents to provide the right support at home, ensuring their teenagers receive effective training. Having experienced the challenges firsthand, I understand the importance of quality instruction during private practice. Through these courses, I aim to bridge the gap and equip parents with the knowledge and skills needed to guide their teens safely to success. Whether it's learner drivers passing their tests or supervising drivers facilitating effective private practice,  I am here, committed, and ready to serve. Best In The FieldWhat does BASC stand for? BASC stands for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation. How did BASC begin? The organisation was founded as the Wildfowlers’ Association of Great Britain and Ireland (WAGBI) in 1908 by Stanley Duncan FZS and Sir Ralph Payne-Gallwey Bt. Why did Stanley Duncan form the Association? There were three main reasons why he set up WAGBI: He wanted to help professional wildfowlers. He was becoming alarmed at the increasing drainage and subsequent development of excellent wildfowl habitat. He realised that as time went by it would be necessary to defend the sport of wildfowling against the growing enthusiasm of extremists.

Working with older children, many of whom lack the knowledge and skills required to make well informed and realistic career decisions, it became apparent that the foundations of career planning needed to be in place much earlier. With the scaling down of Careers Services, the teaching of careers education is arguably falling more and more to teachers who have little time and few resources. Recent reports by Donaldson (Wales) and Gatsby (England) also highlights the link between experiential learning and economic & social wellbeing. WoW was developed to target learners in transition from Primary to High school but has subsequently expanded its remit to cover ages 4 to 19. The project provides a springboard to enable learners to gain valuable career related life skills in a fun and interactive setting. WoW complements many other areas of the curriculum notably, literacy, numeracy and digital competence. The project also provides a vehicle to enable children to acquire broader social and emotional skills by linking with key aspects of the curriculum.

Ayo set up the business in 2021 after almost two decades of working in equality, diversity and inclusion. The idea came from an awakening in society of structural barriers facing minoritized groups, and the need to provide support for organisations to take trusted and sensitive approaches to improve the experiences and outcomes for their staff, service users and customers. Specialist in EDI and business development Ayo has worked in race equality and gender equality organisations since the early 2000s when she started her career at Race Equality West Midlands (REWM) founded by Dr Frank Reeves. She went on to working in a number of grass roots community organisations, and government funded initiatives supporting women in STEM careers, refugee, asylum seeker and migrant communities, and young people at risk of anti-social behaviour. Alongside a successful career in Business Development within Higher Education, between 2011-2019 she also led the charity New Leaders Network, providing training and development to equipt marginalised communities to move into leadership positions. In 2021 Ayo was approached by members of her network to provide bespoke EDI interventions following the impacts of COVID19 and the Black Lives Matter movement. She registered Bakare Barley Ltd as the go to person-centred consultancy service to provide positive, evidence-based and sustainable EDI business solutions.
