Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) are for people who are 16 or over, living in Scotland and either in low paid work or actively seeking work. You must have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or be on certain benefits to be eligible to get up to £200 towards the costs of learning or training. You can apply for an ITA if you are not undertaking any secondary, further or higher education, SDS funded training or participating on the Community Jobs Scotland programme. ITAs are available if you are interested in learning something new or developing an existing skill to support you in work. Lisa is based in the Scottish Highlands and creates spaces to connect to body and land through breathwork, nature awareness, cold water therapy and ancestral skills and crafts. With 'Wild Breath' she offers workshops & retreats and facilitates experiences to connect to your inner nature, integrate the mind back into the body, craft with hands and heart, remember ancestral wisdom for modern times and come fully alive in your animal body. Lisa is a qualified breathwork instructor, trained as an outdoor educator, woodland activity guide and is currently working as part-time hide tanner for a traditional Scottish tannery. She is passionate about rewilding the inner landscape and ‘Wild Wellness’- where wilderness &ancestral skills and health & wellbeing meet, and she loves to integrate wellbeing modalities such as breathwork and meditation into wild spaces. Her offerings emerged from her own healing journey of working in a stressful academic environment. After a burn-out she took a deep dive into wellbeing modalities and dedicated herself to learn what it means to live close to the earth and in alignment with our bodies, minds and heart.  It is her joy and honour to create transformative spaces for others and to explore how we can tend to our roots and what we need to fully thrive as humans. Lisa's facilitation style is directly inspired by nature and she works in a way that provides guidance, tools and a witnessing presence for people to tap into their innate wisdom, power inside of themselves and into the healing ability of their bodies. With practical tools and a deeper understanding of our biology and what we need to thrive, everyone has the ability to thrive and rewild their inner landscape!  Experiences  Lisa has a BA in Environmental Philosophy and an MSc from Edinburgh University in Outdoor and Environmental Education with her masters research focussing on the Wim Hof method and eco-somatic embodiment as a form of environmental education.  She is a qualified Breathwork Coach& Facilitator with Infinite Breath and member of the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF). She is also qualified as BREATHE instructor, trained by Dr. Belisa Vranich, specializing in functional breathing,  breath biomechanics and psychology of the breath.   As a trained woodland activity leader, she is qualified through WALT (Woodland Activity Leader Training) and also has a valid outdoor first aid qualification.  As a primitive skills practitioner she has been on an off grid wilderness immersion in Norway with Lynx Vilden to learn ancestral skills& primitive living and has since then taught at ancestral skills gatherings in Scotland and assisted Lynx at some of her courses in Norway. She is furthermore currently working as a part-time hide tanner for a traditional Scottish Tannery.  She strives to embody everything she teaches in her daily life and is continuously learning from the greatest teachers of all- nature inside and outside of us, our own body, the land, plants and animals.

The Midlothian Council Learning Service is now closed. Thank you to all the Midlothian Education establishments for the amazing support and enthusiasm for supporting this approach to learning over the lifetime of the service. Over just the last 10 years alone a fantastic +24,500 pupils had an outdoor learning experience and 3600 staff received training with the service. The store function will remain open through 2018-19 to help support schools and practitioners who continue to use the outdoors as an approach to learning to deliver CfE experiences & outcomes and wider achievement awards. A range of equipment and resources are available to borrow/hire to support leaning activity. Get in touch with the stores for more information Training for Visit Leaders and Visit coordinators is also still available as are the SQA accredited First Aid Training courses. With the charitable support of our friends and parents of our students, the school has been thriving and has been providing high quality Chinese education for the local Scottish community ever since. Apart from the Cantonese & Mandarin language classes for children, there are also arts & culture classes, such as learning the Chinese musical instruments of Guzheng and Erhu, Chinese traditional dance, recital of poems and drawing for those interested. The organisation was set up in April 2000 to address the shortage of quality after-school clubs in these areas. She is a teacher who quickly discovered the magic of taking learning into the playground and beyond. With almost twenty years of working in education, she has experience teaching in primary, severe and complex schools and ASD bases. Throughout the years’ Carol has and is working on wide range of training. This includes a Master in Learning for Sustainability (with an outdoor learning focus), Lead Teacher in Outdoor Learning, Woodland Activity Leader Training and also Forest School training (level 8 FOLA). She is also set to complete her Coastal Activity Leader Training in July 2022. She Carol loves to support schools by providing training, advice and resources helping teachers break out of the classroom and deliver learning outdoors. Welcome to our school. For us education is not simply about academic results, but is also about achievement in a much wider sense. Our new, state-of-the-art school opened to pupils on August 20 2012. ECA has always been a place of experimentation and collaboration, celebrated for enabling students from different disciplines to work alongside and with each other, and for creating strong linkages with other institutions. We trace our history back to the Trustees’ Academy founded in the 1760s which, over the course of the next century, operated from some of the most iconic buildings in the city, including the University’s Old College and what is now the Royal Scottish Academy. The first Professorship in an ECA subject area was created for Music in 1839 in the name of John Reid, with the Watson Gordon Chair of Fine Art founded some forty years later, the first of its kind in the British Isles and a turning point in the teaching of the History of Art. Following the establishment of the Reid Concert series in 1841, which continues to this day, the Reid Concert Hall was built in 1859. We’ve been known as Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) since 1906, following a major reorganisation of higher art education in Scotland. At the time, we were governed by the city Council and divided into four Schools: Drawing and Painting, Design and Crafts, Architecture, and Sculpture. We moved into what is still our Main Building in 1909, when the first of our annual Revel parties took place and, by 1913, our Cast Collection had been installed in the Sculpture Court.

Founded in 2012, we aim to re establish and promote ceramics teaching and practice which has been disappearing from mainstream publicly funded university and college education. We are a Scottish Qualifications Authority Approved Teaching centre dedicated to delivering a high quality learning experience across a range of learning pathways from beginners to intermediate and advanced classes. Bychoosing to study with us you are make a real difference. We an ethical employer, employing expert teacher practioners and suppliers and we pay ethical rates. When you join us you are not only supporting our classes, you are also joining and supporting a vibrant ceramics teaching and practice community. When you study with us you become part of a wider family of practice dedicated to building and promoting learning and teaching ceramics in Scotland. Our ceramics ecosystem includes our learning and teaching programmes, our Ceramic Artists Residency programme, our Business Incubator programme dedicated to supporting emerging potters start and maintain their own studios and our workshop programme aimed at giving proferssional potters access to new techniques and influences. We work with Craft Scotland to facilitate Continued Professional Development (CPD) for school teachers in Scotland in the fields of Ceramics and we work in partnership with the Edinburgh Ceramics Workshop to provide affordable making space for serious hobbyists and emerging ceramicists. Learn about civic life in Linlithgow and celebrate the town's rich royal heritage. This gallery features our stunning Mary, Queen of Scots statue, which was the first life-size statue of her to be commissioned in Scotland. Discover our trades and industries including dyeing, explosives, pharmaceuticals and electronics. Kids (and adults) will love the hands on interactives which include make your own medicine, design your own banner, and even a smelling interactive. In this gallery visitors can learn about the Linlithgow Marches, sports and leisure, politics, education and so much more. Key objects include Tam Dalyell's typewriter, our Waldie digital interactive and the hugely impressive Scotch Brigade banners. Our flexible space for activities, talks and film screenings. Check out what’s on. The space is available for use by local groups and currently featuring a display of historic costumed dolls, and an exhibition celebrating 200 years of the Union Canal. Our dedicated team of volunteers have played a critical role in delivering an ambitious activity plan. Since moving to Tam Dalyell House, volunteers have contributed over 4,000 hours of their time. They have researched, documented, conserved and photographed the collection, conducted oral history interviews, taken part in archaeology digs, planned school sessions and developed activities for young people. We've run an animation project with St Josephs and Low Port Primary Schools. Bridgend Primary co-curated our first community exhibition. Springfield, Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge Primary Schools have delivered drama and song writing performances in the museum. We’ve delivered reminiscence, oral history programmes, community film showings and much, much more.
