Funded by Wycombe District Council at a cost of more than half a million pounds and built on land owned by Buckinghamshire County Council, construction of the Lane End Youth & Community Centre commenced in July 2003. The Centre was officially opened in January 2004. The Centre is a modern, bright building offering facilities for recreation, sport, entertainment, education and information. It is also the ideal choice for PRIVATE HIRE. We have been successful in attracting numerous events – a regular youth club, dog training classes, fitness classes, health screening, educational activities including a computer class for beginners, private parties and even wedding receptions. Essentially, the Centre is provided for the benefit of all members of the community, with a focus on young people. The Community Centre is a multi-functional building which is highly adaptable and can cater for the needs of a wide spectrum of local residents. The building is also fully wheelchair accessible.

About Outcomes Advocacy At Outcomes Advocacy we are passionate about ensuring children and young people with special educational needs are provided with the provision they need to reach their potential. We have embraced the focus the Children and Families Act 2014 places on children and young people with SEN reaching their best possible outcomes. We recognise that parents and carers need different levels of support at various points. Outcomes Advocacy was founded in 2016 by Steve Devlin Outcomes Advocacy is the culmination of many years of experience of working with families of children with SEN and disabilities. Steve has managed one of the busiest SEND IASS (formerly known as Parent Partnership) services in the country for a London Local Authority. In this time Steve has undertaken significant training and continual professional development accredited by the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority. Steve has provided a service to over 1000 parents and has delivered over 100 workshops on specific areas of SEN. In addition to his wealth of knowledge on SEN legal frameworks Steve has an in-depth knowledge of how Local Authorities function, including their decision making processes. Steve has held key strategic positions on the SEN reforms management board for Local Authorities, helping to design the new polices, procedures and key documents for the revised statutory assessments and Education Health and Care Plans. Steve has worked professionally in the field of special educational needs and disability since 2002. Starting out as youth worker with a specialism in working with disabled children, he went on to manage local and national projects. Global Connection Learning Center (GCLC) is a 501c3 nonprofit daycare center providing full-time care for children ages eight weeks to five years. Though our center is open to the general public, we have a special focus on helping teen moms. As long as they remain in school, receive passing grades, have no disciplinary issues, and attend weekly parenting classes then teenage mothers do not have pay any fees. Our founder and director, Nancy Sylvester, was inspired to open GCLC upon retiring after 35 years as a public school counselor. Over the years, she met a staggering number of teen moms who were unable to graduate high school, despite very much wanting to continue their education. As young mothers, they simply didn't have the time or the resources. Nancy wanted to change that. Today, our program offers compassionate, quality care for little ones that enables their mothers to better themselves. Our daycare is staffed with highly experienced caregivers who treat each and every student as their own. Additionally, our team receives annual professional development sessions designed to help them prepare children for kindergarten.

(ISFA) is affiliated to The Football Association and is recognised by The FA as the body responsible for the development of the game in the independent sector. ISFA’s ethos is that of an educational organisation. It aims to create opportunities for children within the sector by organising and encouraging competitions, representative teams and development opportunities as well as providing coaching courses and conferences for staff. ISFA believes strongly in football as a vehicle for education and in the importance of Respect and Fair Play. ISFA is a small organisation, with four members of staff and limited financial resources. Consequently, ISFA is heavily dependent on volunteer teachers to deliver its programme; there must therefore necessarily be limitations on what can be delivered, and the Association must set realistic targets. ISFA believes its role is to provide quality competitions, representative football, etc., and aims to encourage and assist its member schools to provide the quantity in terms of participation through regional tournaments, block friendly fixtures, internal school football, etc.

Lorna has been a registered childminder in Fleet, Hampshire for 20 years. Looking after children from 0-14 years in her home-based setting. In that time, she has worked alongside her husband Richard for 14 years and now works with her full-time assistant Birgit to care for her childminding children. Lorna has gained a huge amount of experience in that time which she draws upon in her teaching of childcare courses. Lorna’s teaching qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Education (PCET) and the NVQ assessor’s award. She also has ‘Early Years Professional’ (EYP) status for her work as a childminder. Lorna has been teaching for over 15 years and as a childcare tutor has worked for PACEY and Hampshire Learning. She trains childminders, preschool and nursery staff in her local area in small face to face group sessions; and by webinar for all childcare providers both close by and further afield. Lorna visits settings to support staff in raising standards and to undertake Pre-Inspection visits to be able to support the setting waiting for their Ofsted Inspection.

In 2016, Brunel celebrated 50 years as a university. However, our history can be traced back much further to 1798 through our predecessor colleges of Borough Road College, Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College and the West London Institute of Higher Education and as well as through Acton Technical College then Brunel College. Our rise since 1966 has been impressive and our reputation grows year on year. Now a university of 12,746 students – 3,309 students engaged in postgraduate and research study – our special approach is to combine academic rigour with the practical, entrepreneurial and imaginative approach pioneered by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The decision to be named after Isambard Kingdom Brunel was taken after much discussion. Rather than name the new College after a location, Dr Topping, the first Vice Chancellor of Brunel University (and former Principal of Brunel College) pleaded that the name should be a well-known person preferably an engineer or scientist associated in some way with Middlesex or Acton. Agreement was reached in March 1957 that person would be Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) is one of the great British engineers of the 19th century. Isambard was born into an industrious family in 1806, with his mother Sophia Kingdom working for the Royal Navy and father Marc Brunel being a prominent French engineer. Isambard took on formal training as an engineer and went on to build twenty-five railways lines, over a hundred bridges, including five suspension bridges, eight pier and dock systems, three ships and a pre-fabricated army field hospital.To add to this he was a keen social engineer, building housing estates, churches and hospitals. Karen is also a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. All members of the APDT are assesed and train under a strict code of practise because they believe in modern, kind and gentle methods. This offers pet owners a guarantee of quality when signing up to a class. Karen feels very strongly against punitive heavy handed methods and believes if we have our dogs as companions and part of the family they should be treated that way. Karen has worked with internationally renowned Sarah Whitehead for 8 years running three of the leading branches of the previously known Alpha Puppy Classes and Pet Behaviour. She also used to be a tutor for Alpha Education OCN accredited courses for new trainers and behaviour counsellors. Now 37, Karen's ambitions and success led her to branch out with her own team of trainers and launched Canine Kids® in July 2009.
