Welcome to the School of Education's website, where you can read about our comprehensive programme of world-leading research, outstanding initial teacher education, and innovative taught courses. The School of Education has a long history of both teacher education and adult education that stretches back over 100 years. We are located on the award-winning Jubilee Campus and enjoy strong partnerships with many schools and other organisations locally, nationally and internationally. As well as training 300 new teachers each year in the UK, we run an innovative PGCEi course in over 15 countries. In the latest Research Excellence Framework, the vast majority of our outputs were assessed as internationally excellent, with over half given the highest possible score of 4*. We have a longstanding relationship with UNESCO, several large-scale European projects, and strong connections to US funders, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Much of the school's research portfolio is aimed at having a real impact upon learners, organisations and educational systems. As part of our commitment to research excellence, the school has a thriving doctoral research community of students from around the world. The school has a broad programme of postgraduate taught courses, largely focused on professional learning. One distinctive strand of our postgraduate programme is professional counselling education which emphasises humanistic and person-centred approaches. The school is also home to the Centre for English Language Education (CELE), which offers innovative presessional academic English courses to enable applicants to reach the required level of academic English to start their degree course. CELE also offers academic language and communication skills courses and consultations to students whilst studying their degree. Our staff are experts in their fields and members of the school's staff have been awarded student nominated Lord Dearing awards for the quality of their teaching. She is also the President/CEO and founder of BLINGG, a nonprofit for nurses and other healthcare workers. Working to enhance her community around her at various levels and reminding everyone that health is in every aspect of life. Dr. Brandy is also the founder of her NP workshop and group called NP Real World Survival. Helping to train, mentor, and precept extraordinary nurse practitioners. Also known for her holistic and alternative healthcare knowledge and practices. Of course a Medical director of alternative health clinic she partnered with and a consultant. Dr. Brandy Brown, graduated at every degree level as she started out as a CNA at age 20. She has a AA from Southwestern Community College and then went on to get her ASN from Excelsior College of nursing. Dr. Brandy , would not be satisfied until she reaches ultimate lifetime goal of FNP. She pursued her BSN through Chamberlain College of Nursing, then onto Frontier Nursing University for her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2016, she completed her Doctoral Program for her DNP in nursing paractice and leadership.

I am fortunate enough to be the Principal of Homefield College and am delighted that you have found your way to our website to explore the many opportunities that the College provides to support people with learning difficulties and / or disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Homefield College was founded in 1987 as a long-term residential provision for people with learning and communication difficulties. We have since expanded our offering with specialist further education and training, supporting both part-time and full-time day and residential students. The College now offers a range of individualised vocational education programmes based within local communities. All programmes are tailored to the needs of each individual with the starting point being that they feel safe in the environment that they are in. Once this is achieved it allows our staff to work with them to develop and improve their skills to enable them to live more independently once they leave the College. You will see on the website details of the activities that we provide which put together make up a study programme. Our education provision is based upon our belief that young people achieve through experience and this is reflected in the activities provided in our programmes. Students will undertake work experience and we hope that for some of them this will lead to a supported internship. Beyond the education provision, we also offer residential experiences for those who would like to further develop their independent living skills and this can often provide a period of respite for the student’s family. Homefield also provides a range of services for those who remain as part of our lifelong learning provision. These include: long-term residential care, supported work experiences, day services and community enterprises.
