Skills Development Program (previously called as Business English & Skills Development Program) at the Center for Executive Education has been providing language and academic proficiency courses for more than two decade. Business English Program started at the instance of US AID in the year 1989-1990 for 16 and 17 grade officers who wanted to avail the scholarships which otherwise went un-utilized. The maximum amount of scholarships was availed by the candidates who prepared at the IBA to get the required scores in GRE and TOEFL. Later, the Russian Government wanted to give exposure to their employees, therefore, they were sent to this program to learn the English Language. Immediately after that the department started catering to under graduate Pakistani students to develop and enhance their skills in English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The Business English Program commenced in the year 1998 and has proved to be a sought after program by professionals in the Junior & Middle Executive cadre. In 2013, the department with its new name enhanced its offering and conducted several new courses. These programs are skills based and targeted towards executives, professionals, business owners, teachers, school leaders and students working in various work spheres to enhance their analytic and technical skills set. I was graduated from Yildiz Technical University, which is one of Turkey’s leading universities, Chemical Engineering Department in 2004. When I was studying at the university, I was tutoring lessons in chemistry, mathematics, physics and science. Later, I worked as a chemistry/science teacher in a private education tutoring school. I completed my master’s degree formation as a chemistry teacher which allowed me to work in all schools in Turkey as a Chemistry/Science Teacher. In addition, I started my master’s degree in chemical engineering. But, with the birth of my daughter, I quit my second master thesis. After working for 8 years as a chemistry/science teacher, I was promoted as the head of the chemistry and the department of science. Two years later, I was promoted to the Deputy Principal of the Secondary School. After working for 3 years as the Deputy Principal of the Secondary School, I worked for 2 years as the Principal of the Secondary and High School director. During my work, except for my business, I participated in many programmes to help and support young people. One of them is the Duke of Edinburgh International Youth Award. I worked as an award leader supervisor and coordinator. Another one is for gifted and talented students, I developed some activities in science and maths with my colleagues. During the period I worked, I realized the importance of personal development and participated in many training programs. After my training in mentoring and coaching, there was a huge change in my attitude on life. It is possible for each student to reach the maximum of his / her potential with proper directions. In this context, I am coaching and mentoring and try my best to guide the students and their parents to make the right choice for the right high school and the right university.

Exceed Worldwide, with partners, has established Schools of Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) in five countries in Southeast and South Asia – Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar. With the exception of the Philippines, our Schools train Prosthetist Orthotists to International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) Category 2 standards. The Philippines School trains students to ISPO Category 1 standard. In addition, our Cambodian School trains P&O technicians. This course has been recommended for ISPO Category 3 accreditation and is awaiting certification. Exceed works closely with ISPO to gain and maintain international accreditation standards and all of our P&O schools work closely with key partners, including government ministries, institutions of third-level education disabled persons’ organisations and other NGOs, to ensure that programme curricula comply with national standards and that graduates of P&O schools are recognised as health care professionals who can be integrated in national health systems. Places at our first, internationally-acclaimed school in Cambodia (established in 1994) are offered to students from other lower and middle income countries and this school will offer a course at ISPO Category 1 level from 2021. DEVELOPING CLINICAL SERVICES Courses at each P&O school focus on theory and practice, with a strong emphasis on practical training in teaching clinics which emphasise the importance of establishing and delivering care to national and international standards. Exceed P&O centres provide high quality, free or very low cost physical rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. ADVOCACY We work at grass roots level with teachers, community leaders and families to encourage understanding of the needs and abilities of children and adults with disabilities and promote their inclusion in local communities and society in general. We also collaborate with national and international resource holders and policy makers, including national governments, ISPO and WHO, to ensure that equal rights and the inclusion of persons with disability is high on the agenda. COMMISSIONING ACTION-BASED RESEARCH Lack of hard data and high quality research on the impact of disability, the needs of people with disabilities and the design, development and assessment of support services is a critical issue. To address this well-documented research and data deficit, Exceed has founded and co-ordinates the Exceed Research Network (ERN), an international research consortium involving universities, NGOs, P&O businesses and eminent social, P&O and engineering researchers and practitioners from these sectors. ERN is a young organisation, but Network partners are already carrying out applied research to address a range of P&O and disability issues. OFFERING COMMUNITY-BASED REHABILITATION Exceed Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) activities reflect ISPO and WHO guidelines. Our community teams focus on the identification of people with disabilities who need support, referral for treatment at Exceed centres and follow-up support. This support enables children, young people and adults with disability to access education and training, gain employment or start small businesses. We also work with community projects that directly address poverty and the exclusion of people with disabilities from mainstream development assistance. DEVELOPING NEW APPROACHES TO SERVICE PROVISION 80% of those who need P&O services do not have access to them. Resources are scarce and Exceed believes that the future provision and expansion of P&O services to an adequate level will depend on creative co-operation between governments, the private sector, NGOs and donors to develop new service models. Exceed believes that social enterprise (a business that uses its profits for social impact) will play an important role in this mix and has launched Exceed Social Enterprises as a vehicle to access private wealth to support charitable services.

Without treatment, people with SCD may die in childhood but, even with treatment, it can still cause serious or life-threatening problems. Sherry firmly believes that the more people train, the better it is for individuals, families, workplaces, communities, healthcare and the social care sector. As there is a known chain reaction that happens when health or safety incidents strike – it affects everyone! Miss Scarlett is the owner and manager of Droxford Montessori, establishing the school in 2014. Miss Scarlett has over 15 years of experience in Early Years Education and her passion for Montessori began in 2005 after a work experience placement Certified with a full Montessori International Teaching Diploma and Early Years Teacher Status, Miss Scarlett is the school's special educational needs coordinator and leads all staff practice in safeguarding. Miss Scarlett is currently on maternity leave. Miss Helen Miss Helen is our Montessori School Manager and having lived in France for some years loves to share her love of France with the children. “I have worked in childcare and education for over 20 years qualifying in NVQ level 2 and 3, Montessori international diploma and a range of training including Senco. I have had varied roles including working in schools managing a baby room and caring for children with autism, physical disabilities and palliative care. I started working at Montessori in 2006 and fell in love with the ethos as well as my Montessori family. Every day is a learning experience not only for our children but me too.” Miss Lucie Miss Lucie is our Deputy Manager and vholds her Early Years Teacher Status achieved at Portsmouth University. She has previously run Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ early years setting’s and has worked at Droxford since 2015. Miss Lucie is a mummy of two little ones, both of whom have attended Droxford Montessori. Having previously trained in Food Hygiene Miss Lucie carries out our weekly cookery lessons using products from our allotment when possible as well as introducing a mindful approach to healthy happy eating. Miss Lucie is fabulous at being creative and loves gardening and spending time on the allotment with the children.. Miss Zoe Miss Zoe is an excellent dancer and loves throwing some moves with the children. “My daughter joined Miss Scarlett’s school in 2015 and totally embraced the Montessori ethos thoroughly enjoying her time in the setting. I thought the principle involved, in particular the child led activities, learning through play and nature were very beneficial. I have now taken this forward into my current NVQ training.” Miss Lorraine Miss Lorraine is our Resources Manager and has worked as a Montessori teacher for over 15 years. “I did my training alongside Miss Helen and we have worked together ever since. I too fell in love with the ethos and have enjoyed many years working alongside and learning from the most amazing and talented children. I was part of the team originally that helped set up and open Droxford school with Miss Scarlett and it has been lovely to watch it grow into the outstanding setting it has become. I decided to step back from full time teaching two years ago and now work in the role of resources management (basically making the classroom look beautiful and a fun learning environment). Outside of school I am Married with one son, I am a qualified French Cuisine Chef and my hobbies include: fitness and mud runs. I have a cockapoo called Zeus and 5 tortoises.” Miss Clio She is a mummy to one little boy called Bertie and a fluffy dog called Humphrey. Miss Clio is always smiling, she also holds her NVQ Level 3 and is currently working towards her Montessori Diploma. Miss Clio has excellent arty skills and the children love working with her. Miss Sophie Originally came to work at our Holiday Clubs. Falling in love with the ethos she decided to join us during term time whilst deferring university for a couple of years. Miss Sophie brings much enthusiasm to the classroom and is very much loved by all the children.

The Institute of Acoustics is the UK's professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration. It was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics and the British Acoustical Society (a daughter society of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers). The Institute of Acoustics is a nominated body of the Engineering Council, offering registration at Chartered and Incorporated Engineer levels. The Institute has some 3000 members from a rich diversity of backgrounds, with engineers, scientists, educators, lawyers, occupational hygienists, architects and environmental health officers among their number. This multidisciplinary culture provides a productive environment for cross-fertilisation of ideas and initiatives. The range of interests of members within the world of acoustics is equally wide, embracing such aspects as aerodynamics, architectural acoustics, building acoustics, electroacoustics, engineering dynamics, noise and vibration, hearing, speech, underwater acoustics, together with a variety of environmental aspects. The lively nature of the Institute is demonstrated by the breadth of its learned society programmes. There are three corporate grades of membership, namely Honorary Fellow, Fellow, and Member, and four non-corporate grades of Associate Member, Technician Member, Affiliate, and Student. The Institute is well supported by organisations which have become Sponsor Members and by its Key Sponsors. A recent employment survey shows that of our 3000 members, some 900 are employed in industry, commerce and consultancies, 400 in education and research, and nearly 500 in public authorities. Among the more specialist areas in which acousticians are employed are the audio and hi-fi industry, auditorium and concert hall design, broadcasting, telecommunications, quiet vehicle and product design, sonar system design, human-computer interaction, environmental noise control and health and safety management. The Institute works closely with other professional bodies in related fields, including CIEH, REHIS and IOSH and the Association of Noise Consultants. As one of the smaller professional institutions, the Institute of Acoustics has particular strengths in its learned society programmes and its cohesive role for the subject. There is a club atmosphere in its activities and it is possible for members to maintain personal contacts with colleagues engaged in other related areas of acoustics. There is a high participation rate by members in the conference, subject specialist meetings and regional branch activities of the Institute. The Institute offers members a Continuous Professional Development support scheme, a feature which is becoming increasingly recognised as an essential element in ensuring that professionals can keep up-to-date with rapidly changing technological and regulatory issues. Specialist interests are catered for through specialist groups, and regional activities are promoted by a number of regional branches. The work of the Institute relies heavily, of course, on the voluntary efforts of many members of Council, of its Standing Committees and of the Group and Branch Committees. The Institute publishes a bi-monthly Acoustics Bulletin, containing articles of professional, academic and technical interest and the Institute's Proceedings record the two hundred or more papers presented at our formal meetings each year. An education programme, comprising a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and several Certificate of Competence courses is offered at a number of Centres throughout the UK. The Diploma is also available by tutored distance learning. Through specialist Institute of Acoustics working groups, support is given to the development of legislation in these areas, and there is considerable activity by Institute members in UK, European and International Standards development. The Institute is a founding member of the European Acoustics Association (EAA), a member society of the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE) and a member of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA)
